Came here for a show for a band my friend is in and it was fun! What I liked about this place was that they have a parking lot onsite and someone is guarding it. Cause LA is kinda sketch... They had heaters and a mini fireplace were we kept warm as the show was outside. Overall had a great time, it's a bar so who doesn't enjoy that.

When I entered with my buddies we were all confused. Where do we sit , where do we order, how does this place work. We sat for about 20 mins after which we saw the bartender come out after which we had to walk up and ask her how this works etc. The bartender couldn't make the entire order of cocktails because they were out of stock. Pretty was pretty good for the price you pay - generous portions. The ambience was the pretty good. They had live music but unfortunately the sound was too loud. We could barely listen to the singer or ourselves.

The Escondite is a curated dive, if there is such a thing. It has a Midwestern beer bar vibe with rustic wood, mounted deer heads, flowing Pabst. But instead of cornfields, out the front windows and across the parking lot, there's a gorgeous L.A. skyline view. The food is amazing. All burgers we've tried have been bomb, but the fries are extraordinary. Thick, crispy, flavourful. If you bemoan In N Out fries, you'll probably love these. It's worth braving the area (Skid Row) to enjoy a rare-to-find beer and a basket of these glorious spuds.

Inside, watching a band play on their very, very, very small stage.

Reminds me a those "off the beaten tracks" bars you would find in DTLA 30 years ago. Good drinks & beers, plus live music on some nights. Usually ample parking in their own lot.

Got a last minute call to fill in as a bass player for my buddies band! Didn't know where the show was but it ended up at The Escondite!! Wife and I checked reviews and saw the food looked pretty good! We got there early and I ordered the escondite sandwich, it's a Chicago style sandwich, it was ok. The smash burgers look amazing and my friends who had one said they loved theirs! The places is decorated super awesome, I felt like I was in a cabin in the woods haha we got on stage around 930. The inside stage is small so we played outside in the "barn" and its was awesome! LA skyline in beautiful, private parking for all guest! I love this place! Wish I lived closer I would make it a regular spot for me and my friends.

    St Padsy's!!!

It's just good vibes all around. And honestly, every beer I've had here has been amazing. I recently had a sour that I loved. They also have slushies and nonalcoholic drinks. Their NA mojito was great when they had it. Only tough part is the parking but if the lot is unavailable, there's usually street parking in the neighborhood or across Vineland at the meters. There is plenty of street parking around and the place is walkable. I visited this past Friday for the soccer game (Brazil Vs. I enjoyed this flavor so much that I ended up getting two more rounds later. Plenty of beer selection on tap and even wine. They offer indoor/outdoor seating as well as some space upstairs. Indoors they have a big screen, and the outdoor patio has a TV. Lastly, the upstairs area has a smaller TV. They also have rotating food trucks for anyone that develops hunger or cravings. They are pet and child friendly; very welcoming overall. I enjoyed visiting once again.

Always have a great time here on the inside or their long patio with flat screens outdoors (as well as in) to catch the latest events. DJs always spinning the best beats. The brewery where the make the magic is pretty spacious yet intimate. Was able to go on a tour here and learn more about the ins and outs. The taproom is stellar for group hangs and socials. Not as many vegan friendly spot, though the few that are on select days and times are pretty solid. I've had my brother and several friends say that it's good and since we were closer to this area for a pop up event, we dropped by and I finally had a chance to try it. We visited during the final game of the World Cup, so there was no more indoor dining, but there's a couple bench tables outside at the side of the building. Part of the building shades over the seating, so even on a pretty hot day, this worked in a pinch and there was a slight breeze too, thank goodness. Staff was helpful and and answered our questions. They also brought our order out to the tables outside, which was nice. They also took our trash and tray back when we were done too. Each table has ketchup, brown and spicy mustard if need be. Inside, you order and pay at the cashier, grab a number, and they bring it to you. There's a bunch of sausage links on display, as well as the sodas and you can see some of the beer that they have too. For our Sunday lunch, we got the: 1) Sunset Zero soda: -It's an imported German soda. Love that there's a zero sugar version. It's a citrus cola with ending vanilla notes. Way better than some of the orange Pepsi/Pepsi Fire they ran in the past. Nice to try. 2) Rattlesnake & Rabbit with Jalapeno Peppers: -Unique combination of predator and prey meats all encased into one sausage. Also, not often you can get these meats as well. -Slight spicy kick to it from the jalapenos and rich, buttery texture of the meats together. -Each hot dog comes with 2 toppings and we got caramelized onions and sauerkraut with this which added a nice sour and sweet taste to it too. -I liked this the most of the 2 of them. 3) Pheasant with Herbs de Provence: -Nice savory flavor, but I was a fool and ordered this with the sweet and spicy peppers as a topping since they were different from the other toppings we got and I mostly just tasted the bitter aftertaste of the peppers that sort of overpowered the meats. My mistake if anything since the bites with just meat and mustard were delicious. 4) Groot of Belgian Fries: -Huge serving, way too much for 2 people especially with 2 hot dogs and we sadly could not finish it, but at the very least it came with 2 dipping sauces. -Before ordering this, I didn't groot referred to anything other than a Marvel character. -Fries had a rich, deeper flavor than standard fries, nice slight crispiness. We got it with curry ketchup and sundried tomato mayo. The tomato mayo was fine, definitely a lighter flavor and since the fries tasted so rich on their own, I feel like the curry ketchup was a more flavorful and better match. I love a good hot dog, so being able to try it with more exotic meats, flavors, and sauces makes it definitely worth stopping by.

The rattlesnake & rabbit was interesting but could've used a little more salt. I also loved the toasted buns, sauerkraut, and caramelized onions. The fries were fluffy inside but I wish they were a little crispier. I also loved their beer selection and they let us sample a few before ordering. If you go definitely get the Kasteel Tropicale!! I'm half German and my mother is full, so we think we know German cuisine very well. All in all, it was a great experience and we will definitely be heading back for more!

What a wonderful experience our family had at Kiez Küche & Beer Garden…read more There were nine of us, and we arrived during a World Cup game, so the whole place was buzzing with energy and fun. Our family is German, so we know good German food....and let me just say, they nailed it, my friends. The Jägerschnitzel was the best I've ever had (sorry, Oma). The cucumber salad, red cabbage, appetizers, and beer were all fabulous. And the desserts? Absolutely heavenly. The apple strudel was even better than the one I had at one of the finest restaurants in Berlin, and the bread pudding was a warm ambrosia. I was honestly surprised to see a couple of reviewers taking off stars for the most dumb stuff, because our experience was outstanding from start to finish. The service, the food, the atmosphere...all of it was on point. If you're looking for authentic, delicious German food in a lively, welcoming setting, Kiez Küche & Beer Garden is absolutely worth a visit. Such a memorable meal and experience for our family. We will be back!!!!
