This place was beyond kind to us and we also had a blast doing the escape room and axe throwing bundle! We got off our cruise ship at 8:30 and ended up showing up a little early for our 12pm session around 11:45. The lady was so kind to us especially since we were carrying a bunch of luggage and letting it sit there while we played. She had one of the best customer service I've seen in a long time! Plus we really had a great time doing the escape room and it was different and refreshing from all the other escape rooms we've done. It was a lot better than expected, the outside of the building looks kinda sketchy. But my girl and I loved the inside, quiet, and a nice vibe overall. Marcus and the other staff guy (sorry I have bad memory with names) were very helpful and attentive. Both the axe throwing and escape rooms were great, although I would've liked them have flashlights ready for the escape rooms because the science theme one is quite dark and without our phone flashlights it would've been a bit harder. OMG, we could have been killed due to the negligence and laziness of this business. As of the date of this review, this business has adjusted their status to Temporary Closed, but two weeks ago, this business listed to be at normal business hours at the location on 540 N. Miami. And to prelude this review, we are no dummies. My boyfriend and I are intelligent and understanding human beings who are willing to put up with natural human errors. We called the number through Yelp at this business page and was told they can accommodate us right away. Not once were we told this address is not the correct address. We ubered ourselves to this address on this business page and could not find this location at all. Long story short, we couldn't find it because it does not exist! The Escape Zone listed on 540 N. Miami on this Yelp business page did not exist! If you are a visitor of Miami like we were, you would not know that this address is in the middle of a very poor and dilapidated area. 540 N. Miami is located on the same block full of homeless people and right across the street from the federal prison. I did not feel safe at all and I'm no wuss. When we called to verify what the address is after our Uber driver couldn't keep driving around the block anymore, we were told by the Escape Zone that the address is incorrect. What??? I have a Yelp Business account, and I know it is a click of a button to fix that. But this management was too lazy to fix a problem they know that existed. I know they have "fixed" the problem now but seriously, why would you patronize a business that is careless, at best, or plain ol' negligent? read more

Avid escape room enthusiast here. We've done well over 60 escape rooms all through the U.S. The 3 stars comes from multiple things: - Shitty area. There's homeless people everywhere, but the big kicker was the construction in front of the escape room. It was definitely a hard hat area and very loud. - shitty reception. The receiving game master wasn't aware of the rules on the website, children under 8 aren't charged. He was in a poor mood that "we only paid for 3 adults, and no child" and wasn't a fan of my reply that children under 8 are free, and our kid is only 5. - lack luster props and poor design. The Valhalla room is a "nonlinear room" which is great, big fan. But the room was virtually empty and as players you're left wondering what was missed. - personal opinion: we arrived about 7 minutes late. It's implied the we have time deducted because we didn't arrive on time - no big deal what so ever. But the receptionist who was irritated that we didn't pay for the 5 year old lied to our faces about "being slammed," and that's why he had to deduct time. But then proceeded to try and get a picture of us so they can use our family for publicity on the website. No thanks, lead us to the room because we're already late. Overall, don't waste your time on this escape room. If you're look for a good night out with friends, skip this place. The axe throwing and "open roof top patio" isn't worth it. Go somewhere else where it's worth the money. read more

We went to this place for the escape room for my best fiend's birthday and we loved it. We arrived as a walk in and they still accommodated us. Then gave us 10 extra minutes at the end. We did the zombie one and it was fun ! read more

Living in Miami, I wasn't ready to come into this location. Very dark could barely see the place and when we finally did our room some of the things froze so we couldn't complete our escape. The staff member had to come in and reset it which took a couple of minutes and the time was not even given back to us. We didn't really know why some of the things opened and when explained to us it still didn't make sense. read more

My partner and I did the LAB:Outbreak room and it was a blast! We are seasoned escape room players and usually prefer rooms with a tech element which this room definitely had! We also prefer rooms to be more puzzle-heavy over search-heavy and the lab room did not disappoint. The room flowed really well and many clues were intuitive which made for a smooth seamless game. We will be coming back to do the Viking room soon! read more

The Escape room was creative and done well, and pretty solve able (with clues) but I took away one star because our host did not explain things well and there was no timer or warning when it was close to the end. We were surprised when we ran out of time as we thought we had 15 min left. So that was a big bummer:( Other than that, it was a fun escape! read more

I've done quite a few of the Miami Dade escape rooms because my oldest son, who is 11, is a big fan. Having said this, I could honestly say that this place is the worst, period. From the moment we entered, I realized that this is not a safe place for kids. The Viking room was awfully and irresponsibly dark especially if there are plenty of sharp objects like axes. Not fake ones, real ones. The staff is rude and not polite at all. It is obvious they don't like kids. I had to ask at least three times to take us to the room when we were ready because they were "assisting" some other adult people that came much later than us. On top of that, after we left, they sent us an incriminating email saying that one of the kids (it was a group of 6) had stolen (exactly like that "stolen") a walkie talkie. There was no asking or wondering, they went straight to incriminate and defame an 11 year old boy of stealing a walkie talkie. I would have wanted so much that they would have told me that to my face when I was there but luckily for them, they didn't. Summing up, don't go there if you want your children to have a great time like I've had at South Beach, Midtown, Downtown, Coral Gables and all the other places where I've been to. They should shut down this place and start from zero if they want to be competitive and avoid a sue. I am sure that if it hasn't happened yet it soon will because the place is full of potential liabilities. And to the person who accused us of stealing, F...you coward. read more

This place is amazing! This is a great team- building activity. I went with six of my classmates (we are all PhD students at UM) on Friday afternoon. LOCATION: The place is located within 3 minutes walk from the Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre train station. Very convenient. It's right on the corner of North Miami Ave and 6th Street so it's easy to find. They also have nice signs outside so no problem there. BEFORE THE GAME: As we walked into the venue, Irina, the owner, welcomed us with a huge smile on her face. We were all a little intimidated at first, since neither of us has done the escape zone before but she was very nice and asked to grab a seat and enjoy the food and DRINKS! Yes, that's right, they had a fridge full of beer and wine, and tables set up with tons of healthy (fruit) and unhealthy (chips) snacks. That was perfect because everyone can have something. They also had soda and water. GAME: Irina and George (I think he is a co-owner, but I'm not sure) explained all details of the game to us before we entered the rooms....I'm not going to give away the details, because that's the best part, but let's just say, they both were not only helpful for us to understand the rules (they're very simple) but also very, very funny. The beers and their positive attitude set us up for a GREAT GAME. You have one hour to resolve all the puzzle. My team wasn't as good as we thought we would be so.....they gave us extra time so we could finish the game! We kept looking at the clock in the room (it counts down the remaining time) and it kept going back to 10minutes...for over 30minutes! That was absolutely amazing because it wouldn't be as much fun if we didn't reach the final step of the game AKA if we didn't win ;-) They surely did great job making sure we feel accomplished and satisfied. AFTER THE GAME: We continued to snack and drink for a little while. Irina and Greg both spent some time with us chatting about the game. I cannot say enough about how funny and genuine they are. They also took some pics of us and posted on their FaceBook page for promotion. Bottom line, this was an amazing experience. Fantastic for classmates, coworkers, families or even couples. Can't go wrong with planning an event here! I highly recommend the place! Also, worth mentioning they have different themes for the escape rooms, so ask when you book your event. Walk around in the blazing heat, bunch of run down buildings and homeless. We call them back and ask where they are located, she says in Hollywood. I tell her about the yelp listing and how it's inaccurate. She says, sorry about that, we have two locations. I ask if there's supposed to be a location here and she has no idea.
