Got some pretty great drinks and okay food from this bar and grill in Aurora. It may not look like much because it isn't to be honest. The End Zone is a bar that obviously has a sports theme. A lot of the basics. The prices are cheap on most things but it's of course crummy quality. Checked it out later one night and we got a few of the best items. It's got things that take forever after ordering. They may be used to people just having cocktails because the food sucks. Basic dive bar kind of crap. There's a few better things, but have some cash on you. It's about $6 for cocktails. Whiskey and whatever. Also get food. It's about $9 for appetizers including the pretzel sticks. Has the obligatory greasy stuff like any dive bar. There's wings and other things. Has a few okay things about it. It's open later even on weekdays so get your drinking and eating on. They're open all the time but go in the afternoons to avoid crazy traffic or whatever. read more

Two stars? I must admit that I wouldn't have come here if it wasn't for the rest.com coupon, but glad I did. Ok, so the place smelled kinda bad when I first walked in, but I didn't noticed the stench after a few minutes. I can't even put my finger on what kind of bad. It was a Saturday afternoon, and there were a few people (I peg them for regulars) sitting by the bar. The service was great! The bartender lady took good care of us and was attentive even though we were the only ones not sitting at the bar. Nachos with beef - REALLY GOOD nachos! I was surprised by this awesomeness of this appetizer. The chips were deep fried and slightly puffy. They were loaded with ground beef, beans and cheese. You can also get them with chicken or steak instead of beef. Italian beef - Pretty good, but wasn't a fan of the fresh cut fries. We were looking for a place to watch the Blackhawks game last night, and I suggested The End Zone since I have a penchant for going to shitty bars most people would never dare set foot in... And I'd never been inside The End Zone, but it looks both old and dingy from the outside AND it's set creepily back away from the road surrounded by trees and old cars in their parking lot that seem abandoned (There were definitely way more cars than people there.) so, naturally, The End Zone seemed perfect in my book. Well, the good news and the bad news is I found my limit when it comes to dirty creepy dive bars. You walk in, and you're met with a huge red sign detailing their dress code. I'm not sure if it's serious or not, but it read a lot like those signs you used to see at bowling alleys and skating rinks to try to curb gang activity. This doesn't inspire confidence, particularly when you consider how secluded this bar is. Inside are a couple poorly lit pool tables, some really weird leather couches, and a dimly lit bar framed by what looked like 10" TV's hanging from the ceiling. An odd funk (mildew?) was in the air, but that might've been because of the recent hot and humid days we've had. On the up-side they had a decent selection of beers for an Aurora dive bar where you're typically limited to beers on the level of Old Style... But man, the floor behind the bar and the area leading the the kitchen was dirty with a capital D. Originally we had plans to eat there, and figured we'd start things off by ordering an appetizer. We've been to other bars that have great home made potato chips, and there's seriously just nothing better that goes with beer when they're cooked fresh. Well, a few minutes later a guy emerges from the kitchen with some of the greasiest chips I've ever had in my life which obviously had been sitting under a heat lamp for ages. This doesn't inspire confidence, and made us decide to just go somewhere else as if you can't get the basics, like combining hot oil and potato to make fresh chips, I'm definitely not going to order anything more complicated. Overall, I just feel like I went to a totally different restaurant when comparing the vibe, the smell, and the food we got here to semi-recent positive Yelp reviews. I sold the place to my girlfriend with the macaroni burger mentioned here (which is no longer on the menu) and the "mouth watering" smells of good food. Yeah, definitely not the case. Very, very, very disappointed. We ended up going to Mike & Denise's just up the street and the difference was INSANE. If you've seen Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, it's like The End Zone is Club 30's when the kids are exploring it, and Mike & Denise's is Club 30's after Michael Jackson opens the door. This place sucks. Honestly, don't even waste your time. We came here during a hawks game because everywhere else was packed. We should've known it was a bad idea when there were only four people inside and every other restaurant around was PACKED. First let me start with the fact that it smelled. When we first walked in it smelled like mold. Gross! The seating leaves MUCH to be desired. A couple old tables & chairs. None of which are comfortable. Service was so-so. She was nice, but only gave us one menu. She was very slow on getting us another beer when we wanted. It's not like they were busy. Then, the food. Ugh, the food. We started with a quesadilla which was alright. It was pretty good, but I've definitely had better. I ordered the cheeseburger and my boyfriend had the Italian beef. The cheeseburger was disgusting. It had a weird taste which I couldn't place my finger on. The fries were gross too. I don't like ketchup but I found it weird that they served ketchup packets instead of in a bottle. Oh and did I mention there's either no AC or a very poorly working AC system? I was wearing yoga capris and flip flops and was sweating! We will never be back. read more

We came with a restaurant.com coupon as we live close and had never tried the End Zone out. At first impression yeah it did smell a little like mildew and wasn't a whole lot to look at, but it was clean and there were plenty of places to sit. The bartender/server came right to our table and was super nice so we were instantly comfortable. We got our drinks right away and the server was able to recommend good menu options. I had the macaroni burger and everything on my plate was hot and freshly made. The macaroni was honestly the best I have ever had! I've spent my whole pregnancy trying to find the best mac n cheese and this hit the spot. My husband had the windy city burger and that was also really good. They have great food, lots of specials, live music, and things going on for football game days. We will be back! read more

They had four of the tinyist Tvs all together in front of the bar. It was so cute. Read the reviews and didn't see an old man unless these people think thirties is old. They had one dollar domestic so there were quite a few drunks. It seemed like everyone knew the bartender by name so I guess if you live in the shithole of Aurora and looking for a bar that is not Spanish speaking requirement this is the perfect shithole. After all that beer you are pretty hungry arn't you, well just let executive chef Bobby Norris fire you a big old burger you can really sink your teeth into! How about a gyro or some hearty nachos. My first experience at this bar was not bad. My band played, the sound was terrible, but not a big thing. I didn't think twice when they asked us to play again for their 4 year anniversary party. Sure we will play! We ended up leaving and not playing since we were told we were playing at 10:00pm and it was already 11:30 and the first band hadn't played. I don't care for the owner since someone else booked the show, but he changed the whole schedule to his liking. It also seems like they are understaffed since you have to wait awhile to get a drink at the bar. I think a lot of the problems might stem from a certain someone. I won't be back. read more

I was meeting a few friends here a few weekends ago and had some trouble finding it at first. It sits further back off the main road. The first thing I noticed when I walked in is that it smelled like food. Good food! My mouth started watering! It was warm inside too which I was extremely happy about after being out in the cold shopping at the Premium Outlet mall up the street. There was a nice jukebox and a few pool tables and some people (like 8 or 9) at the bar drinking and eating. And people at a couple tables. It wasn't rowdy at all very chill with a mix of people. There was a big sign with all the specials written with bright colors. Overall decent atmosphere. They seem to have a lot of beer. They had several on tap and a variety in the cooler. We all got our drinks quickly. I just had a vodka and soda. I was shocked they had so many different brands of vodka for a smaller bar. There call and top shelf vodka was pretty cheap too compared to other bars in the area. I think I paid like $6 or $7 for Kettle One. The bartender/server girl was very friendly but not obnoxious (like I've experienced at other bar places in aurora). We had nachos for an appetizer and they were delicious! I ordered the Windy City burger. It was cooked Medium rare just like I asked and it was pretty big. It had Italian beef piled on top and the french fries reminded me of how my grandma used to make them for me as a kid. Everyone else enjoyed there food too. My BFF had the Gyro burger (i think that's what it was called ) it was a regular burger but with gyro meat on top of it. I tried it and it was good too. Some of the best gyro meat I've ever had. Really fresh!!! Overall I will be back again. I heard they have 50 cent wing nights and I saw some people sitting at the bar eating them and they looked really good. I was in town for about a week or so I tried different bars in the area but this has to be one of my favorite that I've visited. With real nice drink specials and food specials. You must try the refried Wings they are so good. I went there on a Sunday and on a Monday they have a lot of TVs to watch the football game on and dollar bottles of Miller light and Bud Light on Mondays who could beat that. Real good service and friendly staff. I will be going back next time I'm in town especially for those wings mmmmm. read more

Recent events have shown The End Zone to have poor management. Including the double booking of events and then not telling the bands or their fans that they cancelled a show. To top it all off their attitude towards the bands and potential customers were found to be extremely rude. The band Urn a popular Chicago Band was scheduled to play a show there on the 25 of July, 2008. Their show was booked for a while. When they arrived to the venue, they and the 3 other bands that were suppose to be playing were told that their show was cancelled because they had another event running. Now, It is customary to, maybe, to let someone know in advanced that their show is cancelled especially since the bands were pushing the show to get people to come out. In addition to that, the show is actually still listed on their Myspace page. The last time Urn played this place the doorman had said that it was the fullest he had seen the place. People come out for them and this is how they were treated. In the end the bands were out of luck, they traveled for nothing and the establishment wouldn't even compensate them for the gas they spent to come out. All this could have been avoided with a simple phone call a day or 2 before the event by the place saying we double booked and bumped your show. If this is how they treat performing bands that bring in revenue how do you think they will treat their customers? read more

I've been coming here for many, many years... And not to be biased, but going to a bar where your friends are, is just a good time, all the time. Love the food, the drinks are fairly priced, great specials... And It's like 'Cheers', everybody knows your name! wow. this place is far from being a poop-hole. maybe cause its now 2011 and all of these were written awhile ago. I dont go quite offen but when we do we have a blast. I hardly see "old guys" there and my girlfriend and myself are only in our late 20's. I love this place becuase in not too crowded and you dont have to worry about a bar fight breaking out like some of the other places in town. It's a dive bar, yeah. But it is an age and racially diverse place to be. They have limited turnover, which means your bartnender will rememeber your drink. Awesome little suburban casusaul bar. I only went there because I purchase a certificate. This place is soooo old looking inside and out, but I said okay let me give it a try. So my husband and I order beer, wings and a hamburger. I ordered the End Zone Burger which includes cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and bacon and that all burgers comes with fries for $9.50. (which I thought this is a lot of money for this place to be charging for a burger) After placing the order, the waiter/bartender then came back and said that if I wanted fries it would cost $1 extra and .50 for each ingredient. So now they wanted me to pay $15.50 for this burger, their fuckin crazy. Then when the bill came they didn't even honor my certificate giving a long story that they could not accept any certificate to purchase alcohol, if they did they could lose their license that it was a state law BULL SHITTTTT I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING ANY CERTIFICATE FOR THIS PLACE. read more
