I walked-in today hoping someone could help lift my hair color to a brown after a failed box dye attempt the day before (I had black box dyed hair and wanted a brown color essentially). My coworker recommended this salon so I wanted to try it out. Fiona helped me right away and I love it! She was very nice and easy to talk to. The best part was the consultation. She was so attentive and professional and really tried to find the best solution for me, so I felt like she could really take care of me. She managed to get my hair lighter, even without bleach, which I thought I had to resort to, so she saved me the damage which I'm grateful for. What we ended up doing was an ombre, when i wanted an all over color, which made sense because my previous dye made it hard to lift color on the ends and it was easier to dye the top because i avoided my roots. I left the salon with a nice brown color, a great haircut and a hot oil treatment, all for a very good price! Definitely recommend and will be coming back again. at first my hair looked nice. I asked for a haircut as a bob style She took a chunk and said "I cut" and proceeded to layer my hair. Which is NOT what I wanted. It took me all these months to try growing it out and I finally got a real Keratin treatment back home and my girl told me my hair has never been so damaged. How do you get a "good "haircut and have damaged hair when I take good care of my hair all the time ?!!! I said long layers and she showed me how short the layer's actually are!! I'm livid I did not want this and the smoothing treatment did not work. I paid over $300! For this and nails and will Never go back I thought they did good work but they don't consider the sort of hair people have! I'm white with blond hair now my hair looks thinner and more damaged because of all the little layers. ‍‍ uhh. What a mistake !!!!!! Any suggestions on being able to grow it faster. Uhhhhhhh. This review is long overdue. I have gone to Chau for color and haircuts once when I had long hair and another time when I had short hair. Each time I was really happy with the color and highlights she gave me. My hair is very limp and straight and I wanted to do the ombre but since I don't use a curling iron she suggested it won't really look good on me. The combination of colors she used on me were great my boyfriend loved them. Said it wasn't too crazy that I looked like a different person. When I had short hair she gave me some layers so my hair would have more texture and nice flattering highlights that were great! They accept walk-ins. They are very accommodating! Quality and professionalism. You have to go to this salon if you're looking for quality and great customer service. I was actually supposed to go this salon and accidentally ended up in another salon nearby with the same name. I am not around here so I did not know! I did not have the best experience at the other salon and they didn't listen to what I wanted. They ruined my color and I had to hide my hair for the rest of the day because it was that bad. I immediately called Loanne and she came to the rescue. She is VERY knowledgeable which you think is expected but actually there are some hair stylists that do not know what they're doing. I really appreciated Loanne for taking the time to REALLY CONFIRM what color I wanted. She came back with samples, pictures, etc to make sure that is what I wanted and she will do it. She was really nice and an easy person to talk to. I did a cut and dye. However I wasn't too fond of the cut. I wanted it layer V but ended up a not so layered U. She didn't show me after she finished the cut to get my opinion. I trusted her but I guess I should have asked to see it. Got my hair colored for an hour and a half ish. Then got my hair washed and toned. I really liked the color that came out. She also curled my hair for me after. Total cut and color came to be $180 which is cheeeeap compared to other places! I never have great experiences in salons but Betty hooked me up and I walked out the salon feeling like a 10! I chopped off all my hair one regrettable night and after two years of trying to make it grow back,it finally reached my chest. So, I was very nervous to get it trimmed especially after I saw Betty chopping left and right . She was amazing though ! She styled it while still maintaining the length. I came to Elite Salon looking to bleach and dye my hair for the very first time and make a fresh change to my look. One of my friends has been a customer here for years, so I felt a lot more comfortable entrusting my hair to the ladies working here. Especially since we are living through COVID times, I wanted to make sure that this place would be clean and safe for me. I nervously made a phone call to set up and appointment, and I was happy to learn that the salon enforced mask use and social distancing. Every person had to check in and get their temperature checked, use hand sanitizer, wait outside of the store before they were helped. I was also glad to see that they sanitized each workstation and chairs with wipes between every customer. Since this was my first time ever dyeing my hair, I did not have much knowledge on the process or what exactly I wanted to do. I brought a couple of inspiration pictures to show Sherleena, who helped me with my transformation. I have very dark brown-black hair, and I was looking to change to an ash brown color. I initially wanted to do a full bleach and dye, but she recommended a balayge because it was more low maintenance (I wouldn't need to come back every couple of months to retouch the roots) and so that I wouldn't damage all of my hair. Sherleena took the time to answer all of my questions and explained the entire process before we started. I would say I gave her about 10% guidance and the rest was all her magic! She took the time to go through every part of my hair to ensure that the balayge would look smooth and even. She never rushed and seemed to really put every attention to detail to my hair, which I really appreciated. She and I also chatted, and I must say that she is very funny and pleasant to talk to! The entire process took about 4.5 hours, and I was SO HAPPY with the results. She knew exactly what I was looking for (even if I didn't know myself)! I don't think these pictures do justice to what my hair really looks in person, my hair really does look more cool brown (the pics look more blonde/amber toned). Sherleena did a thorough job explaining how to take care of my hair and recommended that I use violet shampoo (which I bought from the salon) and hair oils to keep my hair healthy. She even curled my hair with a curling iron at the end to make me feel extra pampered. All of my friends have complimented my hair, and it has been a super confidence booster for me especially during these uncertain times. Thanks again, Sherleena for taking such good care of me! This is my 5th+ time going to this salon! I came in because I wanted to tone/dye my hair a lilac/lavender color and bleach the mid section of my hair more because I didnt think it was light enough. Sherleena looked at my hair and assessed that the current color my hair was toned with was a blue/silver tone which made my hair appear darker, but that the actual bleach/balayage was already blended REALLY well. I appreciated her honesty and she went on to tone/color my hair. I didn't want it the purple too bright, but subtle enough to blend in with my balayage. Sherleena did an AMAZING job! She always knows what will work best for me. I'm so happy with the outcome! I've been coming here for 3 years and will continue to trust them with my hair! Loanne's the best! I have so many good things to say about her. To start off, the booking process-- I called the salon to inquire about highlights/balayage. Loanne picked up and told me that she'll text me so I can send her pictures of my own hair and hair inspo. A+ I wanted subtle highlights for my virgin hair and she delivered. She was so meticulous and gentle. She also uses high quality products. To top it all off, she fixed my sister's bad highlights (from another salon) and did not charge her!! I had the most relaxing, no-frills haircut appointment with Chao. A little bit of trouble scheduling an appointment due to communication issues through text, but I had no problems getting my actual haircut done once I arrived. Chao did such an amazing job with the wash, cut, and blow dry. At minimum, I requested to have my hair kept long, but my split ends chopped off. Chao did not disappoint. She did suggest some subtle layers in the front to add a bit of volume. Otherwise, she kept my hair long - just the way I like it. In other words, she didn't overzealously trim off too much. She was also very minimal with hair product use, which I appreciated, because having thin, fine hair means I don't absorb products well. Having gone to my parents' hairstylist in The Sunset for as long as I can remember, The Elite Salon is a nice upgrade. I paid slightly more for my haircut ($40 compared to the usual $20), but I thought the price was worth it. read more

If you have short or wavy hair, don't come here. Unless you want to leave with a different haircut than you have asked for that ages you. David cut short hair well, but he no longer works there. Seriously, normally my genes make me look 10 years younger, but these ladies actually make me look 10 years older. That's a 20 year difference! And I wish I was kidding. My friends were horrified and said "never go back there". And I won't. I prefer a hair dresser who doesn't ignore your directions and tries to hypnotize you into an old lady haircut. I told Betty to not touch my bangs, because I had them perfect. But she brushed them in the opposite direction I keep them, and cut them short. Luckily David had come in then and fixed them. I told Selena not to touch my bangs. I even cut them before I came, so she wouldn't be tempted. But just like Betty, she cut the part I said I wanted to keep long and to grow too short (and horribly, like she's never cut wavy hair before), and the parts I asked to be short, too long. But she definitely talked my ear off and convinced me the crazy cut looks good. And the scary part is the owner, Sharlene, thought this is a good haircut. And then, since Selena said I can come in for her to fix it if I don't like it, I did. She just ignored me, and was going to have me wait 3 hours for her to finish with her appointments. Luckily, I came over and asked her directly. She then offered to call me when she's ready for me. As if I have no life but to hang by the phone for her majesty to say she's ready to give me the haircut I asked her for yesterday. How hard is it to peek at your calendar? I went to another place to get it fixed, as much as it could be. I just said "I got a bad haircut. Can you fix the sides and back? I think the rest is already way too short." All it took was some clippers, just like I asked to use in the first place. He commented as he was cutting my hair, "Yeah, you want to cut with the wave... I am so sorry, you poor thing". I definitely, definitely won't be coming back to Elite Salon again. (Unless of course David comes back.) They don't understand short hair, or wavy hair, or the concept of style. I should have realized this, when I asked the owner if there is anyone who knows how to cut short hair (after the horror story I had with Betty), and her reply was "yes, everyone has been trained to do it". I should have known that meant they never actually got to cut short hair, so while they think they know, they really have no experience, and therefore no idea how to actually do it. And at their skill level, they should be paying me to practice on my hair. Confusious said "Learning without thinking is useless. Thinking without learning is dangerous." These ladies haven't learned to cut anything but long, straight hair. But they think they have. And they don't care to learn what you want. Because they think they know better. This is that dangerous situation. David got it. He's really helped me grow my hair. I wish these ladies had more respect than to destroy that progress. I wish he would come back or pop up at another salon. So in conclusion, if you have short/wavy hair, don't risk it. read more

2 visits - 1st visit: I had my cut and color with Sharlyna (sp?) I had a burnt orange hair, an awful color after neglecting my hair from its original streak of blonde and brown color. After much exposure under the sun. I shown a color I wanted to Sharlyna but suggested otherwise because she said my hair is growing where the roots made my hair look like ombré. It honestly looked very awful hence my hair is thick and long. I had a bit of trim about 2-5 inches to rid off the split ends. My hair was bleached and two person had to do it, awful long process but I was happy with the outcome! Just didn't like the fact that it felt rushed at the end because they were closing. Although I was happy with the outcome, I think the price I paid didn't seem reasonable. 2nd visit: A year after my cut and color. I only wanted a hair cut. My hair has outgrown the color once again and didn't want to dye it anymore. Made an appointment and didn't specify who I wanted to cut my hair. So when I got there, David was available as he was the one greeted me from the front desk and started cutting my hair after showing him a picture of how I wanted it cut. Amazing job, David! You knew from the beginning what I wanted and I couldn't be more thankful! I went for a shorter length this time around and he executed greatly! The best $25 hair cute thus far. Thanks, David! Absolutely amazing Loanne did my cut and color! My initial hair color was a dark brown/black (virgin hair) and she transitioned it to this brown balayage with blonde. The results are incredible- looks natural and my hair does not feel damaged at all from the bleach. The color looks vibrant anytime the sun hits it. I'm in love!! I will give this place 5 stars because whenever I come in, they are always so welcoming. My experience here is always great. All of the workers are super nice and helpful. I came in to fix my horrible mess of a hair. I got my hair done at a different salon but it didn't come out how I wanted, it wasn't blended at the roots at all. It looked like bleach was just put on there without blending and it was still orange. So I waited a few weeks to dye it again and remembered elite salon, so I called and they had an open slot the same day. So I honestly forgot the name of the one who did my hair but the other lady, Shirleena, both of them were very helpful. I told shirleena I just wanted to go back to a black color. She told me that she could dye it to black but it would look flat and that I spent so much money on my blonde to just take it away. So she suggested that they will make the top black and halfway, my blonde will still be there but it'll be blended and look nicer. And I thought oooh, that sounds good and I went with it and it came out stunning. I liked how she didn't just do what she wanted to do, she just gave her opinion and I agreed.
