My wife and I celebrated our birthdays there last night (yes born same day, 1 year apart). The…read morewhole experience was a pleasure right from the start. Entering Intermezzo, we were asked if there was a special occasion that brought us in. We told them it was our birthday dinner. Upon being escorted to our table, we arrived to find a Happy Birthday sign had been placed on the table. The evening just got better from there. We shared two appies, escargot and bruschetta, a bottle of Ancient Hills Pino Baco, then our entrees. My wife absolutely loved the Ahi Tuna, while I devoured an amazing Moroccan Rack of Lamb, both of which were prepared to perfection. We finished off sharing their signature Black and White Creme Brule. Our server, Jess was an absolute delight, listening to a couple of old fogies stories, and offeriing to take our picture as a momento of the evening. Intermezzo has become our absolute must go to for future birthday dinners. A phenomenal evening.

There are not many vegetarian options but one can get by with a pasta. They have a good wine selection and some very good wines from a related small production wine maker. The space has a main dining room and a bar. On both occasions we were seated in the bar which I found a bit strange. The lighting is rather on the dark side but not extreme. Everyone was happy with the food.

Super fun and stylish 5-pin bowling alley right in the heart of downtown Revelstoke. This place has…read morea full bar, pool table and 8 lanes of bowling available. There was also a skate/snowboard shop in the building but it was closed when we went. It was definitely my kind of joint: snowboard & ski videos playing on flat screen TVs, good dance music bumpin, local art on the walls, black lights on the lanes, and great service from the bar. There were kids, teens, and adults there all having fun. The place was packed when we showed up around 7pm so we played a couple rounds of pool and had some cocktails before we got on the lanes. Not sure if they do reservations but I might suggest checking that out if you are going on a weekend. 5-pin was different but fun and challenging. You use small bowling balls with no finger holes and get three turns per frame instead of two. The points multiply if you strike or spare in the first two turns of the frame, but not on the third turn. I enjoyed the uniqueness of the game but lost 3 of 4 games to my wife. The only draw back to The Cabin was the limited food menu, but I wouldn't take a star away from them for that. Because we started around 8 and bowled 4 games, many of the restaurants had closed by the time we were done. We ended up finding some great pizza at the local bar, The Village Idiot. In summary: great drinks, fun atmosphere, and friendly staff. Not your typical bowling alley. I definitely plan to come back on my next trip to Revelstoke!

Early April 2025: After some wine tasting, my group and I visited the restaurant. I ordered the…read moreWinter 2025 Chef's Menu. It consisted of a winter salad ($5), linguine carbonara ($25) and toblerone mousse ($5) for a total of $35. The starter salad was delicious, it consisted of gorgonzola, hazelnut, pear dressing and fresh pear. There was the perfect amount of gorgonzola, I actually want to take notes and make this salad at home in the future. The dessert was delicious, consisting of pear butter, fresh pear, hazelnut sponge and chantilly. Together, they were definitely worth $5 each. However, the Liguine Carbonara missed the mark. It was supposed to have Gunaciale, a rich, fatty cured italian pork product. However, I had a SINGLE small piece in my carbonara beneath the arugula. My cousin who ordered the exact same thing had 8+ pieces. The linguine itself tasted house made.. however the carbonara was extremely bland. I didn't taste any salt, pepper or cheese. I was very disappointed to pay $25 for a small portion, that didn't have any flavour nor meat. For me to be disappointed with food while drunk speaks volumes. I think this restaurant has potential. Service was great. I would be willing to return again and try something else.

The food was mediocre, we both ordered chicken sandwiches with salad, however I have had menu items here that I have enjoyed better. It was just a very uninteresting sandwich. One thing I couldn't help but notice was that we were given two different wine glasses while sharing a bottle of wine. To me, that's a huge no no at a winery and I was quite surprised by it. The service was lacking a bit, our waitress was friendly but drinks nor food were checked up on.
