This gallery is actually the private collection of Southwestern art from the Basha family. I had visited a few years ago and had enjoyed seeing all the pieces on display so when I heard there was a special "Silver Anniversary" collection here until mid September I wanted to go check out the special collections before they were gone. The gallery's namesake, Zelma Basha, was Eddie Basha's aunt and encouraged his love of art. The building itself is a bit hidden as it's behind some nondescript buildings and there is some sort of farm across the street. There's a large Bashas water tower where the parking lot is so that might be a good landmark for those trying to find it. The 2D art is a mix of portraits, landscapes, and imagery of the Old West and Native American culture. In terms of 3D art, in addition to bronze statues, Native American baskets and pottery there's a section of firearms on display. There's also an area towards the back displaying some of Joe Beeler's cartoon drawings sent to Eddie Basha. The special "Silver Anniversary" art seems to be dispersed throughout the gallery and will have a distinct sign indicating it is part of the special collection. While I'm not a huge fan of Southwestern art I did appreciate the artistic talent and vision each artist had in creating their pieces. I especially liked Deborah Copenhaver-Fellows's lovely bronze cowgirl statues, the Native American portraits, and those cartoon drawings sent to Eddie Basha which revealed some insight into both the artist and Eddie Basha's life. Admission is free and there are over 3500 pieces of art on display for the public. Come by and see it!

Fantastic to see this. Awesome collection of Western and Indian art. Well worth seeing and it's free of charge. Highly recommend. Good activity for summer as well as it's all indoors. Make sure to read the texts next to the displays.

Overwhelmed with the beautiful collections of native American & Old West artwork. Whether it's sculptures, paintings, figurines, potteries or jewelries, theiy are all done with such artistic and cultural beauty.

OMG - this is a hidden gem. We read a little blurb in a publication about this and went and were just amazed. Located in the Basha Grocery HQ Building that is kinda run of the mill grocery warehouse looking structure, the art collection is simply amazing. They have some of the best from some of the best known artist and works that have never been seen before. I think this gallery needs more space to better show off the art. Some of the halls are not as wide This is a MUST do if in the Chandler area!!!

Karen W wrote a very solid review for this place so I will try to offer something else. Lots of different styles of art here and various levels of execution. It's a great place to wonder and get lost in. The art in this gallery really lends itself to a more nuanced anthropological exegesis of the Southwest. It is easy to get lost in our post-modern thinking so its nice to have places like this where you can reflect and get more into touch with the various cultures that have occupied this area. The Basha's are great philanthropists and this place is amazing. Also, entrance is free.

They had asked us in our class to submit a photo for viewing for a student photography exhibit at Art Intersection. I have visited numerous exhibits over the years since discovering this place. Art Intersection is located on the second floor of the Heritage Court Building. In addition to being a gallery, they offer a variety of photography classes for both beginners and experts. They also have a wet darkroom and both a process and digital lab that you can rent out. I have taken a photoshop class here in the past and enjoyed getting to know the founder Alan Fitzgerald. He has a deep passion and love for photography and is fun to chat with about photography. Every few months Art Intersection showcases an artist's photography work in their gallery. This includes an opening night reception where you can meet the artist and chat with them about their work. It's a great way to learn about many of the local photographers here in the Valley and view their work. The annual "No Strangers" exhibit is one of my favorites to check out. They used to have a fun event called Phototapas where they would celebrate the art of photography during the month of February. If you want to check out some great photography work and avoid the hassle of a larger museum, Art Intersection is open throughout the week and is free to visit.

The City…read moreof Chandler has rapidly grown over the years and this was my first visit to Chandler Center For The Arts. On this Saturday night the artist performing was Pat Metheney. At the onset before the performance we were told that this would be the last concert of the season. The Chandler Center is going to get a renovation and probably will not be open until late October or early November. This Center houses a large venue and on this Saturday night it was pretty much a sold out crowd. When Pat Metheney came out he didn't waste any time and just started playing. The crowd was really into the music and so was I. The place has provisions for the handicapped and does allow for drinks during the performance. I really don't know what else to add other than the place is impressive. When it opens up again in the Autumn maybe take a look at what they have in the concert venue. I guess we got lucky to attend their last concert of the season.

Located in a nice part of Chandler, with lots of cool bars and restaurants within the vicinity, they do have a complimentary parking lot. For one of the events, I was able to find a spot without much trouble. For the other, I had to park on the street a few minutes away by foot. I guess it depends on how popular the event is. The venue itself is beautiful. Clean and modern with nice amenities. You get a program once you enter the theater, which I always appreciate. It's a good size-venue, but still small enough that it's intimate. My only real complaint? The seats are packed pretty close to each other, so you don't much shoulder room or leg room. A little too snug. Outside of that, and parking being a bit of a wild card, it's a phenomenal venue.

First off, you can either park in the parking garage a few minutes away from the venue by foot or you can park in the gravel lot that is a minute or two farther away. If you park in the garage, they will validate your ticket. Guaranteed parking is always a big win in my book. I've been to the Tempe Center for the Arts (TCFTA) twice. Once for a concert and once for a play put on by the Arizona Theater Company. Both have been A+ experiences. First off, the venue is located right by Tempe Towne Lake which makes for a picturesque location. The venue itself is just as beautiful with stunning architecture, both inside and out. It's clean. It's comfortable. The ushers are friendly. There is plenty of seating to hang out outside before the show, during intermission, or after. You can also hang out on the patio where there's a fire pit and seating. On a certain day of the week that's escaping me, they do an open mic night out there. I haven't tried any of the concessions, but they have a bar and some snacks. There's complimentary water. The theater is pretty intimate which makes for a better experience. It's designed well. There are even often some art installations you can check out. Overall, you can't ask for much better than this when it comes to an event experience! I've become a season ticket holder of the Arizona Theater Company, so I can't wait to be back!
