This gallery ran an ad in a Church bulletin I saw a few years ago; I finally made the time to visit. It's located in Scottsdale among many other art galleries. There's parking on the street but it's limited; there's a 3-hour limit. Upon walking in, I felt a holy presence, almost like when I enter a Church or holy site. This art gallery has been blessed by the local Catholic Bishop; the subject matter and the beauty of it all together moved me. I look forward to going back! This gallery offers various pricing levels and if you're interested in taking an art or painting class, they can put you in touch with their artists. I was dazzled with the quality of the fine art displayed. They have artists that take various cultures into account when creating images; with portrayals of the Holy Family in African American and Native American representations. You can buy original paintings by local artists, along with, reproductions of well-known paintings. Thankfully, you can find a great selection of sculptures as well. The owner, Charlotte, is super sweet and was always open to chat. The most challenging part was really just mixing the right paint color to match the easily recognizable Sanrio pink and blue. You get to choose your color from a list and note it when you register on their website. It was $85 before tax and came with 5 skeins of yarn, with the option to add more (I think for an additional $15). I also put in the notes on my registration the names of my friends so that we could sit together. The workshop was at 6pm on a Friday and lasted about two hours. There was my group of three and three others, plus the owner/instructor Lauren. Her instructions were easy to follow, and she would jump in if we needed help. I made a few errors, and she was able to fix them for me. I ended up making my loops too loose on the outside and too tight on the inside, so my blanket came out a bit small. But I think it was decent for my first attempt. It's so soft. I keep it on my couch to use as a lap blanket. We all had a great time and would definitely come back to try other workshops. Her mom and I went out of state for a few days, and my niece's work schedule is the graveyard shift, but we made plans to visit the shop before I headed back to the airport. For some reason, I had a picture of a roadside set up. Needless to say, it was not. I'm guilty of judging a book by its cover, because this small package (shop) was filled with things to look at, do, and buy. It was like a mini museum, but you can touch everything! We bought a few bags to pan through, and I bought a couple of silly things for my kids ("kids" 26 & 34). I really enjoyed myself here, especially with my family. I wish we had more time to spend, but I had a flight to catch (now with some gemstones), and my niece needed to get some sleep before her shift. I'll ask to go again when I visit next time!

I got there first thing in the morning with my mom and aunt to get started. We arrived on a Friday and parking was PACKED. We ended up finding a spot in a nearby lot, so if you have a certain time you want to arrive, make sure you factor in parking. Anyway, we made our way into the building, and a nice lady told us we could sit anywhere we wanted and gave us the rundown. You're able to make an array of items. We ended up making car fresheners, perfumes, lotions, and candles. You start off by picking your favorite scents and combinations. If you're anything like me and my mom, we are very indecisive, luckily they help you pick out scents and combinations they think you'll like. Seriously amazing staff! They were so patient with us to make sure we got the scent we loved. Overall, the process took about an hour, and depending on what you make, you'll have to come back after 3 -4 hours to pick up your items. When we came back around late noon, it was packed, so I definitely don't recommend coming at that time. Definitely go early in the morning or maybe a couple hours before they close. The prices weren't overly expensive at all. I can't remember the exact total, but I think I got around three items and only paid about $70. Either way, if I have more family coming in from out of town or just want a fun place to go with friends, I can definitely see myself coming back

I was a…read morestudent in a black and white photography class down the street at Chandler-Gilbert CC when they opened. They had asked us in our class to submit a photo for viewing for a student photography exhibit at Art Intersection. I have visited numerous exhibits over the years since discovering this place. Art Intersection is located on the second floor of the Heritage Court Building. In addition to being a gallery, they offer a variety of photography classes for both beginners and experts. They also have a wet darkroom and both a process and digital lab that you can rent out. I have taken a photoshop class here in the past and enjoyed getting to know the founder Alan Fitzgerald. He has a deep passion and love for photography and is fun to chat with about photography. Every few months Art Intersection showcases an artist's photography work in their gallery. This includes an opening night reception where you can meet the artist and chat with them about their work. It's a great way to learn about many of the local photographers here in the Valley and view their work. The annual "No Strangers" exhibit is one of my favorites to check out. They used to have a fun event called Phototapas where they would celebrate the art of photography during the month of February. If you want to check out some great photography work and avoid the hassle of a larger museum, Art Intersection is open throughout the week and is free to visit.
