This has a much different vibe than the Mayer location. We were able to watch the Artisans at works, creating the various winches, bells and other metal art. The various rooms look like they were built right into the ground. I also felt the art was more interesting at Cosanti. Make sure you stop in for a tour, read about the history and find some truly unique gifts or decor for your home.

The entire establishment is an art piece with the creator having envisioned the architecture to appear the way it is. The chimes are very expensive mind you. But they are beautiful and they sound terrific. There is a tour and there are classes on how to make the clay tiles, which they also sell. I would come by if you like creative arts. :)

Shops, galleries, and restaurants galore, a plethora of options for desserts and eateries, party bikes, and nightlife. The Grapevine Karaoke Lounge looked fun. But they were also packed this past weekend, full of energy that could be felt and heard from outside. That seemed to be the case for many bars and venues downtown. Party hard on Saturday night, then many businesses dead on Sunday morning. Yup, it was a ghost town. That said, there were plenty of interesting things to see and do as well as good eats to be had, and I made the most out of my visit. I checked out the One-Eyed Jack sculpture on Marshall Way and East Indian School Road, dined at The Frybread Lounge, sipped on cocktails at Hula's Modern Tiki, enjoyed brunch and live music at Belle's Nashville Kitchen, and explored art, history, and cultural exhibits at the Western Spirit museum. Also, I appreciated the easy and free parking in the vicinity. I even got offered a ride twice while walking the streets, by friendly folks driving golf cart shuttles. It may be a bit touristy, but I had a good time in Old Town Scottsdale.

We went in assuming it would be a toasty and crowded outdoor event, but instead, we encountered a calm, organized, indoor event. We waited in a brief line for the aura photography station. Because we arrived later in the event's timeframe, we weren't able to do much else, but the aura photography was incredible. We really enjoyed what we saw of the museum and the museum's associated store...why are museum stores always the best!? We look forward to returning to the museum and plan on attending future First Fridays as much as possible!

But take it all in from the lights to the mirrored walls. The Fashion exhibit was my favorite i specifically went to to see it. Plenty of parking and off the light rail. Wednesdays they have name your price donation pricing. 1st Friday is free. Elevator gets you to all the levels and plenty of room to maneuver a wheelchair around the museum but too tight in the gift shop. They have events so check out their website.
