The business is enormous, housed in a huge warehouse on Bayshore. I only wish it were double it's size, and that my home were double the square footage so I could buy more! Grand Central Station Antiques hits the sweet spot with quality and price. I can say without a doubt that you will not find a larger selection anywhere in the Bay Area at these prices. Robert, who's been running the business for decades, is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and always helpful in locating the perfect item for one's home. I have included pictures of some of my favorite and unusual finds. My friends all joke that I now present as a rich heiress, but the truth is, is that I spent comparatively little in furnishing my apartment with items I found at Grand Central Station Antiques. Purchasing antiques provides quality you just can't find in newly manufactured furniture, and honestly, one won't pay more (or much more) than their modern equivalencies. Antiques have soul, history, and create rich warmth and beauty for your home - priceless! Note that Grand Central Station Antiques will also provide careful, professional delivery for a very reasonable extra charge.

The prices are always fair and the selection is like no other in the Bay Area. I have a particular interest in bookcases and shelves to house a growing book collection. At GCSA I've discovered a number of wonderful European 19th and 20th century classic items to display our collections, as well as beautiful oriental rugs, art pieces and practical household items. You won't be disappointed with the wide selection and the outstanding care which Robert and his team apply to their merchandise. I can also attest to the prompt delivery and exceptional attention given by the delivery team to delicate and heavy items. One extremely large (over 9 ft wide and nearly 12 ft high) walnut Victorian bookcase with glass doors had to be installed as a single piece. It was expertly handled and placed. You won't be disappointed. I've attached a few images of pieces found at GCSA that I treasure.

The store has beautiful home goods and great clothing brands (like Joie, Diane Von Furstenberg, Rag & Bone, All Saints) in great shape and for great prices! This is Simply Chic's (on Fillmore) sister store. I hope they always keep their prices low and their staff so nice! Highly recommend!!!

I saw a really cute littke Snoopy figure in the window and went in to ask about it. I stood in front of the salesperson who was behind a counter on a phone or just distracted and I said hello. I asked about the Snoopy in the window. He told me it was $50. I asked if I could see it. He told me I would need to buy it to see it. What kind of store does that? Apparently this store that I won't be buying a Snoopy at. Ugh. There's so much random stuff in this store that I don't understand it at all. Unpolished silver, used vintage silk tops with armpit stains, hats, art to decorate your oldest living relative's house...and a Fender Knock off guitar in the window selling for $450, but worth less than $60.

I've dreamed of owning a tall Victorian-style mirror my whole life. Recently, when I moved into an…read moreapartment with high ceilings, it finally felt like the right time to find one. I started searching online but couldn't find anything close to what I had in mind. Then I remembered the antique shop near my old apartment, the one run by such lovely people with an amazing eye for beautiful pieces. So I went there, hoping to get lucky. As soon as I walked in, I saw many lovely mirrors, but none that matched the one I'd been imagining. Just then, Howard asked if I was looking for something specific. I told him about the mirror I'd been dreaming of, and he smiled and said, "I just bought one like that." He showed me a photo on his phone, and it was the one. He told me it would arrive on Monday, but I was leaving town for work and worried I might lose my chance. Howard kindly promised to hold it for me until I returned. When I came back, I hoped he had kept his word, and he had. There it was, waiting for me: the gorgeous Victorian mirror I'd dreamed of all my life. Not only did he keep his promise, but he also gave me a generous discount, saying that the mirror was meant to be mine. They delivered it to my second-floor apartment with great care and professionalism. I absolutely love it and feel so grateful to Antique & Art Exchange SF for helping make a lifelong dream come true.

Lots and lots of stuff to choose from (the place seems small from in front, but there are 2 more rooms in back) and astonishingly reasonable prices. I found 2 small antique-ish pictures and a vintage enamel ice cream sign and spent a total of $61 + tax. I didn't need knicknacks, but they seem to have a near-endless assortment of interesting stuff. The owner is sweet and very talkative, but seems to be a bit informal in how she runs her business. Theoretically they open at 2 p.m most weekdays, but on my visit she appeared to open up at 2:15, saw me and said, "Oh, I didn't think anyone would be here!" Not a big issue, but something to be aware of.

Think of this store as more of a thrift shop of secondhand items and less like a fancy antique/vintage store (I came in expecting to find another store like Stuff on Pac Heights and was very wrong).
