On Saturday, 4.18.26, with a highly recommendation, I had decided on checking out THE EAST POLE, which I had been meaning to attend their NEW Year's 2026 Jazz Brunch, something else came up. On this particularly Saturday afternoon, the weather was cool and sunny, what was surprising to me, upon entering THE EAST POLE was white linen table settings outside of a semi-brownstone, which was new and charming, for I felt like spoiling myself, which I suggest that everyone do so, every now and then . . . I was first greeted by the charming, KLYE, who suggest a very comfortable setting for me, and introduced me to my waitress, CASSANDRA, was so gracious and attentive, but allowed me to taken on the beautiful decor, and chic people, both at the bar and main dining area. I was introduced to several other staffers, including CHEF JOE, who suggest that afterwards, I should visit the Melody's Piano Bar, too! I had a glass of Champagne, then tried, by Cassandra's recommendation their TIGER SHRIMP TOAST, being them topical NY'er, and shy wgen it comes to trying new things, I must say that the sweet thai chili sauce, herb salad with shrimps, quickly educated my tastebuds, and I was completely hooked. Secondly, I had tried the Grilled Angus Black Skirt Steak, and, immediately, I was taken back, thinking that that I was being served was a piece of meat. But, surprise was tucked way under the delicious steak, cooked to my taste . . . WELL DONE, with roasted potatoes, spinach, asparagus, and seasoned to ptefection!!! The afternoon delight was top with AFFOGATO, a mixture of vanilla bean gelato, frangelico, whipped cream, espresso. It was alright. We had the Salmon Tartine, Shakshuka, Eggs Benedict and Brioche French Toast. The Salmon Tartine was good it could have used a little more flavor but it was nice and light. The Shakshuka was good as well - not the best I have ever had but not bad whatsoever. The eggs Benedict were good as well, again nothing to write home about but not bad. The Bricohe French toast was a bit of a let down as it seems like they left it on the pan too long and it came out burnt which was not very pleasing or appetizing especially as it was the person birthday who was having them. Service was all right. It could've been better. The host was accommodating, but it took a while for us to get service and all of the wait staff seemed to be just chilling by the bar chatting. Our waitress was very nice and did not detract from our experience whatsoever, but also didn't elevate it. Ambience is very nice. It's very casual and cozy and the perfect spot for an easy quick brunch. Overall, I probably will not come back with all of the other amazing brunch options in the area but if you need a quick and easy brunch that's gonna be decent I would say give The East Pole a shot. read more

First time trying this place and loved everything about it! It's a really cute spot with indoor and outdoor seating. The service is so friendly, helpful and patient. The chai latte (with a shot of espresso added) was delicious and so were the huevos rancheros. There are 3 small stairs down to the front door (I'm sure there is a handicap accessible ramp somewhere but just wanted to point it out). We dined for brunch at the outdoor patio (there's also a space heater if needed) and street dining. The inside looked beautiful and opens to bar top seating and then dining area. We had great service but expect really pricey coffee ($7-9) and entrees ($40pp after tip without coffee). We shared 2 dishes and both were very delicious! The eggs benedict ($27) was cooked perfectly with a rich hollandaise. I asked for the home fries cooked well done and they were absolutely crispy and lightly seasoned to perfection! The portion of the thick cooked bacon was generous. The macro Bowl ($35) was very filling with a creamy tahini dressing. The dish is presented deconstructed but forms a great bowl when mixed together! I would definitely come here if the dishes were just $10 less but a great experience overall! read more

I recently attended a private 30th birthday celebration at The East Pole, and it was a fantastic experience. The venue is beautifully designed with a cozy yet upscale vibe, perfect for an intimate gathering. The upstairs party room does have a very narrow staircase and only one bathroom as well. Which wasn't an issue until the end of the evening where you'd have to go downstairs to use the other restroom. The location is great, tucked away on the Upper East Side, making it accessible but not too touristy. The staff were attentive, and the food was delicious. We had a dinner party menu which was delicious. Upon arrival was standing cocktails and appetizers. Their mini crab cakes were phenomenal. I'm convinced I ate an entire tray myself. I ordered the black angus skirt steak which was cooked to my rare preference of temperature. The servers took note and did great with my food allergy as some places don't always take you serious. They brought out separate of the sides for just me as I couldn't eat many things with a mushroom/truffle allergy. The private dining space was ideal for our group, offering just the right amount of privacy while still being part of the overall ambiance. However I would say it's definitely a tight space when everyone is up and standing. I would definitely recommend The East Pole for anyone looking to host a special event or celebration. Only reason for 4 stars is that it did get a bit tight and the limited bathroom design. read more

Lovely drinks, food, and wine and a local legend hosts at the door. You may rent private spaces for undisturbed dining. But beware, pay only cash. Recently, our drinks took very long to arrive. It was late at night and not crowded. It was odd because the service is usually speedy. My friend left her credit card with the bartender as they requested us to run a tab. Unfortunately, someone there tried to use the credit card at that time in another country for thousands of dollars. Luckily, she doesn't use the card much so the charges were denied. Grabbed a meal with a gf on a beautiful Saturday morning and went here for brunch. We shut the place down and stayed until the sun went down. I got some sort of ceviche like moment and it was good. What makes this place fantastic are the ppl. Our server Sergio made our time there amazing. He made us promise we would come once a month and I think I may want to. I was extremely in love with this iced tea like moment. It is vodka infused in black tea and turned into an iced tea. It was everything I needed in my life. I had like four. Literally rating this restaurant 10 / 10. Everything start to finish was incredible. The Moscow mules were probably one of the best I've had in a while (would literally come back just for them!). As starters we had the burrata, salmon tartare, oysters and kale Cesar. Each appetizer was better then the last. Highly recommend all of them! For dinner we shared the pappardelle with lamb which was absolutely out of this world. The ambiance also made the experience that much better. If you sit towards the back (which I highly recommend), there are beautiful sky lights which give amazing natural light. I reserved my table on OpenTable, and when I arrived, I just asked if I can sit at a more private table at the end corner, as I have kids, I don't want to disturb other ppl. But the lady said no, and told me those table are for reservations only. Well I reserved, what's the point? And they put us at the middle entrance (first table where everyone : the customers and waitresses can pass by) Whatever Put in a good way, they have special attitude or "Arrogant" in an elegant way you can say, but if only you are non white ppl you might experience that, And to be honest, I don't want to think that way, but I felt that way. Literally left because the host would not give me space and felt pressured to eat there... I was walking around with my husband looking for a place to go for dinner. We stopped in to just look at the menu, the host recommended we go outside to see it better because of the lighting but I was NOT expecting for them to follow us out there while we're trying to read it ourselves and decide what we want to do... I also have multiple sclerosis so it's difficult for me to read and process things and it didn't help when the host kept pressing me what I like to eat while I was trying to read the menu... horrible and intrusive experience and I didn't even eat here! read more

I have been here twice for outdoor dining at lunch/brunch time. The food was excellent both times. I enjoyed the French toast, which has a carmelized sugar texture and comes with nice berries. They are doing the best they can in a somewhat-small space and seemed very glad to have guests there for the sidewalk cafe. The service the first time was excellent and spot-on. Not so much the second time around, when the server seemed a bit distracted and things were slower. I will give them another try in the future since everyone enjoyed their food, and it was likely just an off moment. read more

Came here for brunch on a Saturday! I ordered the brioche french toast, and it was really yummy! It has some fresh berries on top & comes with whipped cream and syrup on the side. The toast was fluffy on the inside but also has a nice crisp to it on the outside. It has a faint citrus-y taste to it which I enjoyed. The atmosphere of this restaurant is really nice and they have a good amount of outdoor seating. The food we ordered was very good with the exception of the grilled cheese. The Burrata was very good and had a great flavor to it with the balsamic and oil. We also liked the green salad but the greens they paired with it were a little tough. We also got the paparadelle which was great and the pasta was very fresh. The grilled cheese was not good and not what I expected. There was way too much of the jam onion spread and not enough cheese. There were only slight traces of cheese. If this had less jam and more cheese it would have been much better. read more

We had such a nice brunch experience last Saturday here. Hip place, but one of those where everyone is happy and hospitable. We showed up with no reservation so waited 15-20 at the bar for a table outside, which was pretty packed. Our waitress was super nice and gave us a great white wine rec (one that the wine makers created to pair with sushi). Everything was delicious (kale Caesar, huevos rancheros and omelette). Will be back to try out their dinner menu. The chef worked with David Burke and a few other renowned chefs. Swanky restaurant on 65th St. Suprisingly active bar scene for a Monday night. It was dark enough to go spelunking. As a result, can't say much about the restaurant's decor. The waitstaff were all very nice. The food was very good. Shared a salad with my wife and had the snapper special She had the salmon and our friend ordered the chicken. All were good. The fly in the ointment is the prices. 3 glasses of wine, one cocktail, two salads and three entrees came to $380, including tip. For over $100 per person, a restaurant has to really deliver. After a lengthy search for the perfect small wedding venue, my husband and I were thrilled to find The East Pole's Copper Bar (for ceremony/cocktails) and Map Room (for dinner). Food and Drink: 10/10. Privacy/Vibe: 10/10. But the real highlight is the Service/Staff: 20/10!! Each time we visited, up to our wedding earlier this month, we felt welcomed and cared for. Communicating with event coordinator Bailey was a breeze. GM Brian was friendly, detailed, and incredibly professional. Bar manager/mixologist Wiki is super talented. Our server, Mary, anticipated our needs and made the whole night flow. My Mother has Celiac disease, and every precaution was taken for her.
