We most often would drive out here in the winter months and even with the snow on the ground the streets are very well-maintained; so much more so than South of the Tappan Zee. There are cute little shops in town and the residential parts have some beautiful farm-like homes, nestled into the wilderness. With each visit, we feel like we've transported ourselves to some other place because it is so tranquil. Definitely one of our favourite drives.

With its bumpy, sometimes one lane roads, its deer herds, and its silent pond in the center of town, it calls to mind mystical experiences. Monroe, for all its serenity, is where Velveeta and Liederkranz (recently revived by a Wisconsin dairy in 2010) were invented- http://www.hvmag.com/Hudson-Valley-Magazine/April-2013/Where-Does-Velveeta-and-Liederkranz-Cheese-Come-From-Monroe-NY-Of-Course/ It says so on their town sign, enshrining cheese. There are Hasidic Jews from nearby Kiryas Joel&missionary sisters in full habits meeting at the local post office. It's no wonder upstate New York was part of the Second Great Awakening of the 1800s. Though NYC is the Big Apple, Monroe is its heart in Orange County.

I purchased the TRAM TR50 microphone kit in August 2018 and used the microphone once and discovered…read morethe static. I returned it to TRAM, under warranty expecting a replacement, but received this assessment: "From boot and up 12" damage to cable is visible and significant. The cable is damaged end to end, it is stiff and no longer pliable... The cable has been yanked with enough force to have disconnected some internal solder points in the head. The warranty does not cover misuse/abuse." The reason I purchased the TRAM microphone is that I had heard great things about it online and wanted to 'up' my audio game in production. I've been using the supplied Sennheiser mic with a G3 receiver for years and it's still working great - I don't agree with their assessment that I abused it. What disturbs me the most in their assesment is that the cable "... is stiff and no longer pliable." To me that sounds like a product that has been lying around for years and the rubber/plastic became brittle. I agree with Brent E. - they have QC issues and worse customer service!

One of my TRAM-TR50 mis failed after 5-10 minutes of use after normal use during a sit-down interview. It is still under warranty so I sent it back. They returned the mic and said it shows "signs of use/wear." There are absolutely NO signs of use/wear! Their mic failed due to a weak solder point! That is very shoddy craftsmanship and definitely falls under the manufacturers warranty. Here is a direct quote "TRAM® microphones are warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use for a period of one year from date of purchase." Zero signs of abuse/misuse yet they claim it was abused! It was used under NORMAL conditions.
