Super cute local bookstore that has mostly romance and romantasy. A small YA/kids book section and a small thriller/mystery section. They also had a small section of stationary and book accessories (stickers, bookmarks, notebooks, etc). The girl behind the counter was so sweet and helpful. They also host a bunch of events! I visited this new book store for their grand opening on Saturday. It's the first 100% only fiction bookstore in all of the Hudson valley. Earlier in the day there was a pop up candy store from a local store Quincy's and coffee as well. I went closer to closing but they were still offering some nice candy selection by the checkout. There is adult fiction, YA, and children's books as well. A very bustling children's area. I didn't take any pictures because that children's area was busy with several children and I didn't want to take a picture of someone else child but it seemed like they all loved it! I could see taking your child here for a nice book selection night! However should children with sticky candy hands be touching you and rubbing past you bother you it might not be your cup of tea! Might be best to visit when school is in session if that rings true for you. In terms of selections the owner herself walked me around the store and explained each section with her recommendations based on what I liked. I personally like thrillers so she suggested a few with a fantasy twist on one so I'm excited to try it. Unexpectedly I ran into my neighbor too and she loves romance novels but has a hard time finding new ones and said for herself she even found something new to read. The owner said she's going to also try and feature some local authors so I'll be back in hopes to try and snag a local author book because that would be exciting to try. Pricing wise I don't mind paying a little bit more to support local but some of the selections could be found cheaper by online retailers which is a bummer. I would love to see gently used book swaps from titles bought here or even the start of a book club I would join! I do hope they have more pop up workshops because I saw they also had a floral arrangement pop up that I missed but that would be a fun event to attend as well! I would recommend being patient with parking though as the lot is a shared one and is veryyyyy tight on spaces. Or even parking up more on Main Street via street parking and then walking down . I also wish there was more seating to sit and enjoy reading the books I purchased, not sure if this was just because the tables had been rearranged for the floral demo but maybe even two bistro tables out front! Also on their instagram everyone keeps posting nice pictures of what seems like a deck with comfy chairs but the back area was blocked off and you couldn't get to it, hoping to come back and try again! read more

On a visit to the area I stopped by Page and Petals and I'm so glad I did! The store is clean and beautiful, with a welcoming atmosphere and nice bright natural light. The selection of books is great and Jackie (the owner) was kind enough to help me with my selection. She was kind, knowledgeable and passionate about the books. My husband, teen daughter and I stopped in to Page and Petals the week after it's grand opening and were delighted that this whimsical bookstore came to settle in our village. We instantly felt welcomed as we strolled through the shop with its cheery and boho decor that ultimately led you to a large beautiful deck overlooking the Wappinger creek and falls. I look forward to coming back and spending more time on their deck with a good book once the spring comes! My daughter and I loved perusing the YA and Romcom sections and my husband enjoyed the classics. I noticed there was a children's section as well. We spent some time chatting with Jackie, who was well versed with the authors and happy to give suggestions of further reads based on our initial selections. She was extremely friendly and we can't wait to come back and pick her brain for our next good reads. I'm excited for this bookstore mostly because I could see how much my teen loved being there. The books, colors, flowers, music and overall aura of the shop was like walking into her ideal world. Any time she is inspired to read makes me happy as well! read more
