The cheese fries were okay, rather flavorless, the fries were super soft and soggy and over fried for me. The elote was smothered with butter, cheese and seasoning, too much butter for me. I prefer a bit of cotija cheese and some seasoning only. Corn if it's sweet and good, doesn't need a lot of stuff on it. At least we tried it out.

Then, I called the store and was immediately sent a text - mid call- along the lines of give your name and order number and we'll give you an estimate... so I replied back "how long is the wait", I was again quoted over an hour. So I asked if I could text my order and just head that way when it's ready and they replied sure. So I ordered the classic (viral) Chicken Caesar Wrap and their Garlic Parm Fries. The place was packed (seating isn't plentiful to begin with), there are tables inside and out but the restaurant itself is on the smaller side. I arrived when they estimated and my food was being bagged after I went to the pick up counter with my information. When I got to the car and opened the box, I immediately noticed a large pile of butter/oil in the corner seeping out, and the sandwich was cold... it didn't have that crispy Parmesan cheese texture I've seen all over TikTok (bread was soft) and the inside was on the soggy side - so it was quite messy to eat. The fries were drenched in an oil or butter mix that after a few bites, my stomach felt heavy. Chicken cream chops sandwich has a strange name but is excellent--much creamier than a regular shawarma sandwich. The Boostan shawarma is amazing; straightforward but excellent. On top of that it is cheap--maybe the cheapest in Hamtramck. How much is the best shawarma wrap in Hamtown? SIX. DOLLARS! They are so generous with their portions as well, including the non-sandwich dishes. The staff are super friendly as well. Just don't come here expecting a nice place to eat. I made the mistake of getting everything to go, meaning the tacos were wrapped in a foil packet, the grilled onions and half a grilled jalapeno were in another foil packet, and the sliced raw radishes and lime were in yet another foil packet. Cups of red and green salsas were also carefully tucked in the bag. I really liked the tacos. I thought the carne asada was a little tough, though, and liked the pastor better (the flavor was really good too). The cilantro was fresh and the flavor really shone. In the three trucks that we stopped at that day, El Paisa's cilantro packed the biggest punch, which is a very good thing in my book... I'm a cilantro fiend. I also liked that the raw onions were very finely chopped. I usually HATE raw onions, but these finely chopped onions added just the right amount of bite. As for the salsas, I thought I'd like the green better but ended up enjoying the spiciness of the red more. Well, it wasn't that spicy but it had a bit of heat to it (kinda like a mild-medium), which was much needed, since everything else was pretty mild, including the grilled jalapeno. When I bit into it, I thought it was a green pepper in the shape and size of a jalapeno. For $1.25 a taco, I got a decent amount of food and would be able to make a meal out of 3-4 tacos. I think they might have the biggest menu selection of any of the trucks... anyone else agree? The cabeza is diced very finely, much more so than the norm, which was interesting. I think i prefer a slightly rougher cut (on the other end of the spectrum is El Pariente's cabeza, which has much more texture per bite), but El Paisa's style took nothing away from the flavors. A small but notable detail was that the limes served here, unlike most of the competition, were extremely fresh and juicy, barely had to apply any pressure to get quite a bit of that great lime juice onto the meats, and nothing goes better with cabeza than a little salsa and a lot of lime juice. so good. The pollo was standard, but, as you all know, standard in SW taco truck land is absolute tastiness. Other things I noticed: 1) catching a bad break i suppose, the strong wind today was carrying the truck exhaust (since the truck was running) up alongside the eating counter... so I smelled faintly like a lawnmower when I return home... too bad, didn't really notice while i was eating, thankfully. 2) two tacos and a coke was $3.75 ... a score of a deal by any measure... well, except by taco truck measure...
