Birra tacos

I literally am obsessed with this place they should be more recognized and own a store by now. There food is amazing they have fast and amazing customer service if your in the area even if your not these are seriously worth it!!

The 5 stars is for a single item: the Quesabirrias tacos. WOW. Antojitos is a food truck at Bagley and Wabash. It's about a half mile SE of the train station. Other food is so-so but the Quesabirrias are amazing. The truck is run by Jackie Perez and her mom Gloria.

The build up was definitely real. The hype and the clout of this joint if solid. But unfortunately was a bit of a let down. Birria Ramen: Great concept, but totally fell short on the flavor department. It was somewhat bland and left me wishing for a spot of sodium. Quesa Burria: Looks great on IG,,, specially when you dip it in the sopa,, pero once again, lacked that punch. Very anti climactic. Carne Asada Fries: This was their saving grace,, at least had good depth and flavor. Although, was it the best Carne fries I ever had? No it wasn't. Listen,, you can boomerang those dippy tacos all day and have everyone drooling over them, but I guess my taste buds needed a bit more excitement. 3 star would be a fair rating in IMO. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!!

Best Best Best quesabirrias around town!!! So scrumptious, they're so good you have to eat them in the car! I like to add cilantro and onions to the consome sauce! Tasty and flavorful!

The location is at a home address and the family that runs it is so nice! I absolutely loved all 3 dishes I tried! The (birria) meat in the Birria Ramen melts in your mouth (so tender and not fatty!) The Quesabirrias live up to their hype as does the consome (the sauce you dip it it in)! The Asada Fries were also good (a bit underdone, but they're home fries & phenomenal), but the meat on it wasn't as soft since it's chopped steak. Call ahead on the number via their instagram (@antojitos_southwest) to place your order ahead of time (they even sell out, so make sure they're in stock!). Also would like to note that the chicken & the birria are halal!!!

I also found this place thanks to Instagram foodies. I agree with another reviewer. You cannot get more hole-in-the-wall. I'm not sure but it looks like it's someone's house. The night I picked my food up, it was dark and raining so they didn't have their outdoor set-up. I walked to the porch to grab my food. The food was very tasty! I had to try quesabirrias since everyone keeps talking about them. I found them delicious but I actually didn't find the dipping broth (sorry I don't know the name) to be very flavorful. The quesabirria themselves were already flavorful so I didn't mind. I am definitely going to go back when I can. They're only open on Friday + the weekend and you should call your order in ahead of time. I was able to pay via zelle on the phone when I placed my order so that was convenient.

Quesabirrias, consommé, and two Mexican cokes

You can't get more hole-in-the-wall than Antojitos Southwest! Thanks for the IG foodies for highlighting this local treasure! Located in the backyard of the given address, you walk up the driveway to discover a little pop up shed where the magic is made on a small flat top grill and wok size deep fryer. The must have? I come for the quesabirrias! Small fried tacos filled with stewed birria meat, cheese, fresh onion and cilantro, spicy salsa, and served to be dipped in its own delicious consommé. I had four of them and drank all the consommé to boot! I'm glad I was able to find a place that served birria, period, and this version is simply put, a flavor-bomb. These quesabirrias have a full on 5/5 craveabilty factor, and it has definitely locked in a position in my foodie rotation! Plus you gotta feel good about giving business to a literal mom and pop shop in these times especially. What are y'all waiting for, let's all go!

This restaurant is located in a quaint, residential neighborhood in southwest Detroit. They are open Friday through Sunday for the fall. It is recommended that you phone ahead to order has their authentic Mexican offerings typically sell out well before their 8PM closing time. This was my first time experiencing their food after having heard rave reviews about it for weeks. I had two of the Quesabirrias and an order of Asada Fries. The portion is huge on the fries making it great for sharing.

And the homemade salsas at the truck are great - the green one is my favorite. I also got the churro cheesecake with caramel and I'm SO glad I did! It's such a perfect piece of cheesecake and definitely homemade. I will be here every time I see them downtown! They were really busy, but the line moved really fast and food came out quickly. Highly recommend.

You have everything you need to make them, just add bread to your stocking list. My parents loved their asada tortas I brought them. I myself prefer my go to Mexican meat of choice, al pastor whether I get a torta, tacos or a quesadilla. Really it's a personal choice but if you like pork at all I'd opt for their juicy perfect pastor no matter what type of entree you pick. My husband liked his chicken burrito quite a bit, he is not a torta guy and despite his love of pork and pineapple he is not huge into al pastor. Weirdo. The salsa here is tasty, I get extra because I like a messy, drippy type torta that requires several napkins and a possible save with a tide stain stick pen to the shirt front. The chips are decent and the salsas great but at the price for chips and salsa you're better off adding a taco or two instead. If you see this truck you should definitely swing by.

El Paisa is located in the parking lot of Sam's Supermercado…read more(http://www.yelp.com/biz/sams-supermercado-detroit). I got two tacos - al pastor and carne asada. I made the mistake of getting everything to go, meaning the tacos were wrapped in a foil packet, the grilled onions and half a grilled jalapeno were in another foil packet, and the sliced raw radishes and lime were in yet another foil packet. Cups of red and green salsas were also carefully tucked in the bag. I really liked the tacos. I thought the carne asada was a little tough, though, and liked the pastor better (the flavor was really good too). The cilantro was fresh and the flavor really shone. In the three trucks that we stopped at that day, El Paisa's cilantro packed the biggest punch, which is a very good thing in my book... I'm a cilantro fiend. I also liked that the raw onions were very finely chopped. I usually HATE raw onions, but these finely chopped onions added just the right amount of bite. As for the salsas, I thought I'd like the green better but ended up enjoying the spiciness of the red more. Well, it wasn't that spicy but it had a bit of heat to it (kinda like a mild-medium), which was much needed, since everything else was pretty mild, including the grilled jalapeno. When I bit into it, I thought it was a green pepper in the shape and size of a jalapeno. For $1.25 a taco, I got a decent amount of food and would be able to make a meal out of 3-4 tacos. Mmm... tacos... :)

Delicious feast, TONS of sauteed onions, generous with the radishes…read more Stopped here today to check out the pollo and cabeza tacos for the first time. Great great stuff. I think they might have the biggest menu selection of any of the trucks... anyone else agree? The cabeza is diced very finely, much more so than the norm, which was interesting. I think i prefer a slightly rougher cut (on the other end of the spectrum is El Pariente's cabeza, which has much more texture per bite), but El Paisa's style took nothing away from the flavors. A small but notable detail was that the limes served here, unlike most of the competition, were extremely fresh and juicy, barely had to apply any pressure to get quite a bit of that great lime juice onto the meats, and nothing goes better with cabeza than a little salsa and a lot of lime juice. so good. The pollo was standard, but, as you all know, standard in SW taco truck land is absolute tastiness. Other things I noticed: 1) catching a bad break i suppose, the strong wind today was carrying the truck exhaust (since the truck was running) up alongside the eating counter... so I smelled faintly like a lawnmower when I return home... too bad, didn't really notice while i was eating, thankfully. 2) two tacos and a coke was $3.75 ... a score of a deal by any measure... well, except by taco truck measure... EITHER their tacos are 25 cents more than the competition, or their cokes are a little pricier... a really puny value difference ultimately, and doesn't stop me from giving El Paisa my full-hearted approval. This truck sits in the parking lot of the plaza at Vernor Hwy and Lansing St. WEEKENDS only. CASH only.
