The "Dream Team" is comprised of Chris McDonald and Toni Marion. They are doing the hair and make-up for both me and my bridesmaids for my wedding. I found them because my photographer knew Chris and highly recommended her. I have already done a trial run with them and was thoroughly pleased. Both Chris and Toni were super nice and a lot of fun. Also, I looked so wonderful when they were done with me. I brought some pictures of what I was thinking about with my hair and Toni did a great job interpreting what I meant. Chris, would has been written up in Allure and was really great. I left with beautiful photographable make-up but I still looked like myself (or what I like to think I look like). They aren't cheap, but really are about the same price for others that do similar work. They are going to come to the hotel where everyone is staying the day of the wedding and get us all ready before we have to go take pictures. Toni and Chris were amazing!!! I found them online and although they were a little more expensive (they charge for a trial - when most of the places I talked to did not), I was sooo happy I went with them!! I first met them in San Rafael for my trial. Although I liked my hair and makeup, I decided the the hair style I had picked was just not right for me...I worried a little bit about this as I wasn't sure what I would do but Toni was awesome in that she wasn't stressed that on the wedding day I was still trying to figure out between a down do (with extensions) and an up - but low to the side do... Thankfully one of my other vendors had said that girls usually hate there hair if it is down because they have to fuss with it and since me and my hubby were doing a dance where we did a dramatic dip I thought this was the best option. I had a beautiful head piece that I wanted to use and Toni suggested a up but ponytail to the side with some filler for volume - I would have never thought of this and I LOVED it! Chris did a fantastic job on the make-up. She is sooo calm and just went to work. I will seriously probably never be as pretty ever again!! :) I guess that is sort of sad - but I a glad it was on my wedding day! I wanted to make my eyes stand out and she did a FANTASTIC job. I had the pleasure of having Chris and Toni do my makeup and hair, respectively, for my wedding. To beat a dead horse - yes, Chris is worth the money for makeup. I looked like myself, just a much better-looking version of myself. She had a way of making everything look natural, but glowing and radiant. Toni did my hair, and our trial was more of an attempt to nail down my style. She did a good job interpreting what I wanted, although I wasn't completely sold on the final product at the end of the trial. However, when the wedding day came, she definitely delivered! I had the most romantic hairstyle, and even when I came back from a photography shoot in the windy Headlands, she had waited for me so that she could fix what the wind had tried to destroy. All in all, everyone but one bridesmaids loved her and I would highly recommend her again! Phenomenal!!! These women are both so talented. I was told they were the absolute best by one of the vendors helping me with my wedding planning so I called and booked a trial appointment. I live in Virginia but got married in Calistoga. I was spending a few days in the Napa area taking care of some other planning activities when I called. Toni and Chris were incredibly accommodating and worked me and my Maid of Honor into their schedules at the last minute so we could do the trial appointment before flying back to Virginia the next day. On the day of the wedding they arrived on time and were very efficient in setting up all of their equipment. They were fun and upbeat and we had a great time, it was like spending time with friends. I gave Toni a picture of the hairstyle I wanted and she gave me some suggestions on how it might be tweaked to best suit me. We did this at the trial and I loved the result then and the final result on my wedding day was even better. She did an updo with lots of flowing curls. It was PERFECT! Exactly what I wanted to go with my dress and my headpiece. She was meticulous in her work and did not stop until she was certain it was exactly right and, more importantly, until I was certain it was exactly right. It was a fabulous style and it stayed secure and looked great all day and all night. Likewise, Chris is also an artist with her brushes. When she was finished my skin looked flawless, radiant and glowing. The makeup didn't feel heavy or overdone. The makeup looked natural but at the same time positively glamorous. Chris was also very meticulous in her work and made sure we each had the look that was right for us. She stayed with us, touching up lips and making sure everything was perfect when we walked out to begin the ceremony. My Matron of Honor's 10-year old daughter had also joined us while we were getting ready and Chris generously volunteered to put spiral curls in her hair.. The wedding was in September and people are still commenting that I looked like a goddess that day. I have never felt as beautiful as I did for my wedding. Toni Marion, Chris MacDonald, Sheperd Sharifi, Meleah Bates are a dream team. They are so experienced, talented, and fun, and good listeners, and intuitive. They operate on schedule and are perfectionists, yet super relaxed and flexible. They use high quality products, and colors that look natural and stunning. These are really nice people to spend the hours before a big and important event with. They'll have you looking your very best, and help you to feel comfortable and relaxed. On the day of the wedding, in the bride's SF hotel suite, we had the hair and makeup done on eight women: the bride, her mother, and six bridesmaids starting at 10am and all completed by 2:30 pm. (in addition, Toni spent some time assisting the groom with his look.) Everyone looked fabulous, and felt great about the way they looked. A couple months prior to the wedding day the bride and her mother had a trial make up and hair appointment with Toni (hair) and Chris (makeup), to get an idea of styles and makeup shades for the wedding. I am sad to have to write a bad review. My sister got married in Napa last weekend and we had a horrible experience with The "Dream Team." They were supposed to be at the venue at 8am to BEGIN hair and make-up - they arrived after 8am and then spent at least 20-30 minutes setting up. It put the entire bridal party behind schedule and then we had to rush through pictures. The make-up artist, Chris, was wonderful but Toni, the hair stylist, was awful. Not only was Toni rude but she did not do the bridesmaids hair how they wanted. I ended up taking my hairstyle down (while Toni was still there) and doing it myself. You know it's bad when the hair person makes you cry. My sister, the bride, was the only one who looked good. The other bridesmaids looked like they did their own hair - absolutely nothing special. They are definitely on the pricey side so be ready to shell out a lot of cash for nothing special. I would recommend Chris for makeup though. All the ladies looked beautiful. She asked what we wanted and then absolutely delivered. She was nice and took her time with us and still managed to get all of us done on time. I wish I could say the same for Toni. If possible, just book Chris and NOT Toni! read more

I love, love, love Chris and Toni from the Dream Team! They did the hair and makeup for my recent wedding. I can honestly say- they, along with their assistant Danielle- were absolutely sensational. They kept things calm and relaxed- and did a marvelous job = )) My hair stayed all night- yay! and my makeup lasted as well. I have to say, I was thoroughly disappointed with The Dream Team. It was almost as if they went out of their way to make the morning of my wedding as difficult as possible. I had a lot of the same experiences as Lindsay W. who commented on 6/4/2010. They arrived late, took an hour to set up (which put us 1 hour behind schedule), and Toni was horrible. Two of my bridesmaids had to do their own hair because Toni did such an aweful job and then REFUSED to fix it. One of my bridesmaids started walking down the isle with a huge metal clip in her hair that Toni forgot to remove. My other bridesmaid's hair fell flat before Toni even finished curling it, and then she again REFUSED to fix it. She saved my hair until last and then proceeded to yell at me for several minutes because my hair wasn't done on time. Yet, she was the only one who had control over when it got done. That was the last thing I needed on an already stressful morning. (Of course, it was only stressful because of her.) On my perfect wedding day, the only thing that went wrong was Toni. Out of the 7 women who had their hair done, only mine looked okay. She was rude to me, my mother, my bridesmaids, and my mother-in-law. She came unprepared to plug in any of her equipment, and then required that I pay to have the hotel bring in extension cords and power stips. It was as if she had never done this before. Also, because there were 7 of us using their services, Toni was supposed to bring an assistant, which I had to pay a lot of money for. Of course, there was no assistant and Toni would not refund the money I paid for one. Chris the make-up artist was pretty good. But even she couldn't make up for the catastrophe that was Toni. In short, I would NOT RECOMMEND The Dream Team to ANYONE! I only gave them 1 start because Yelp wouldn't let me rate them any lower. read more

I hired Toni Marion to do my hair for my destination wedding in Sonoma California this past September on a recommendation from my wedding photographer. Toni's talent for doing hair is beyond words. Let me first say, that I am EXTREMELY picky and a complete perfectionist. Toni delivered on every count, and exceeded all my expectations. She is stylish, hip and effortlessly chic. Trust me, when you see her, you will think she has discovered the fountain of youth. I gave her a picture I found in a magazine and she recreated it perfectly. In fact, I think she used five different sized curling irons to accomplish it. The finished product was incredible, and my wedding party looked phenomenal. Everyone loved her, and she helped to make my wedding day perfect. I liked her so much that I asked her to cut my hair the next time I vacation in CA. Don't think twice, just hire Toni for your wedding, you won't regret it. She is a complete gem! read more

I was recently in a wedding, and Chris and Toni were hired to do our hair and makeup. First off, they were almost 30 minutes late. Then, they took forever setting up, which put the entire bridal party far behind schedule. We almost had to forego pictures to make it to the church on time. When the bride expressed concern over this, Toni was rude and atttempted to blame the bride herself for the delay. Apparently, she had "forgotten" the terms of the contract, which she only admitted after a long argument with the bride. As if a bride needs any more stress on her wedding day! There were four bridesmaids in addition to the bride and the mothers. The one and only person whose hair looked in any way decent was the bride. One of the bridesmaids complained (and even cried) over her hair -- yes, it really was that bad -- and Toni refused to redo it. That bridesmaid ended up taking the mess down and doing her hair on her own. Another bridesmaid discovered, at the church, that Toni had accidentally left a large hair-dresser's clip stuck in the back of her hair. Ridiculous! My hair was messy-looking and frizzy, and one of the wedding guests confided to me that the mother of the groom looked like someone had "twisted her hair up into a sloppy knot." On top of this, Toni was abrasive, rude, and hard to work with. Chris, on the other hand, was wonderful. I don't know how she did it, but my eyes have never looked better. I got countless compliments on them from the wedding guests, and I was very pleased, as well. She was friendly, talented, and fast. If possible, ask if you can split up this "dream team" and only hire Chris. If you go with Toni, you will regret it! read more
