The wrong windows were delivered for my basement bedrooms, yet I was pressured to make full payment before the mistake was corrected. Despite repeated instructions to salesman Arthur that the windows needed to extend 1.5 inches for future siding, they were installed incorrectly. Communication was consistently directed to my boyfriend and father--neither of whom live with me--instead of me, the homeowner who paid for the project. When the installation issues became clear, I was met with hostility and told the company would not honor the 25‑year warranty that was a major reason I chose them. Over the years, I've tried everything--messages, letters to the owner, reviews--to get this resolved. I was eventually blocked by the company. Recently, they contacted me through the BBB claiming they wanted to "make it right," but in reality they've skirted all responsibility. Today, I went to their showroom during posted business hours (Monday-Friday, 9-5) and found it closed. When I called, I was told to come back during regular hours. I explained it was 2:53 pm--well within those hours--and they repeated the same line before hanging up. This is the worst company for customer service I have ever dealt with. They do not stand by their commitments, their warranty, or their customers.

After the workers left, it was total silence on their end for several days. I made multiple calls and emails only to get kicked around different departments. Long story short, it has been two weeks and I have not got any info from them about when the project will be finished. Imagine the frustration when you spent $$$ and your bedroom becomes unusable for indefinitely long (the picture shows what the window looks like at the moment). This is so far the worst customer care I have encountered. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

Spoke to Frank at City window and glass, he said to bring it in. We dropped it off and they called someone in from their holiday to fix it.. which was really nice because we had cold air coming in from the fireplace with the missing door. This seems to be one of those businesses that you hope are there when you need it.. well they are. Hired The Door Centre to install a double door and massive window above it about 15 years ago. Did a fantastic job with a quality product that was reasonably priced. Fast forward 15 years, and one of the latches on the double door broke. Contacted The Door Centre and spoke with Rick. He got me a replacement part quickly and gave it free of charge. It's not the "free" that impressed me, it's the authentic appreciation for their clients!

They were glad to take my money, however the post sales experience was terrible. 2 major problems. First, upon door order I was quoted a 2 week delivery time however doors did not arrive until 5 weeks. No real responsibility taken other then to pass the blame to the door manufacture. Secondly, when the doors arrived, the frame they supplied did not fit into my roughed in opening. The frame width was 58.25 inches however they told me upfront to rough in a 58 inch opening as I ordered 2 26 inch French doors. This wouldn't have been a big deal if the doors had arrived on time as I was still at the framing stage however since they were 3 weeks late I had already finished the drywall, mudding and painting as I could not hold up the project for the late doors. When I called them to discuss it, Rick ( I think that was his name) took zero responsibility for the problem and essentially told me 'tough luck'. When I pushed it further and told him that I had built the framing to EXACTLY their dimensions, Rick told me it was my fault for not giving extra space and that if I wanted to avoid this problem I should have hired a contractor to do the work. I suggested to him that he send someone down to fix up the problem but he would not do that and said he would not spend any money to fix this problem. When I suggested he take the doors back and order smaller doors that would fit he said he would not do that because he would be stuck with the doors and out of pocket. The call ended with me telling him that I was going to post my experience to the internet so all could read it and he then threatened to sue me if I did. I would not suggest doing business with this company. I had planned to buy and have them install a very nice extra wide front doorway and glass in the spring (probably $6K) but obviously that wont happen now. In retrospect I assume that they probably didn't account for the 1/2 inch wooden divider between the 2 french doors (not sure what its called) when they gave me the sizes to frame in. Sounds like something pretty straight forward for someone in the door and window industry. To fix my problem I needed to rip the drywall down and cut out the stud on the one side of the doorway and move it over, re-drywall, remud and repaint. Ugh.
