I get my stuff, and am waiting for a coffee. I open the bag and the fritter bag and what the heck. It's not a fritter. There is no apple on or in it. It's not crunchy. I take a bite and yup. It's not as it should be. The lady comes to the window and I ask what I can do. That it's not any where near a normal. She says yes it is and that's what they always look like. a No it's not. She doesn't apologize or even offer to return it or replace it. She stares at me then slams the window on me. Let's go over this. A. Their donuts are mid at best. It's just how it is. I stopped ordering them a while ago. B. I do go there every morning though. Ask the other window guy. I go for Kolaches. My son loves them. C. Not anymore. I also will be calling. We loved the blueberry cake and the blueberry crumb donuts!!! We also tried the map bar and chocolate cake both delicious. The owner was nice and gave us a free dozen donut holes to try. We also tried their kolaches which were good, the blueberry donuts were the star of the show though. read more

The staff is young, but always ready to meet your donut and coffee needs. Our kids love all of the sprinkle and candy options. The long John's don't quite measure up to the competition, but the apple fritter was great! If they can master the moisture and size of a maple bar they might become best in town. As a Californian who travels, I am always on the hunt for kolaches. It is impossible to find them back home, and the best I ever had was when I lived briefly in Houston. Side notes: Kolaches are among the most popular pastries in Texas. They are said to have been introduced by Czech immigrants and, today, you can find them at kolache houses and donut shops all over the state. They are either sweet or savory and made with this amazingly fragrant and delicious yeast dough. It has been a while since I've had one. So, I was trilled to see when passing through St. George that The Donut Run sells several types of kolaches. And what a sweet spot. You get the feeling that the owners and others working here love what they do. The donuts are fresh, well stocked and look amazing. Very tidy and cozy place in a strip mall just off the highway. If you are passing through, it's worth the stop. But it was more the kolaches and not the donuts that drew us in. You can actually smell the kolache bread in the air when you walk in. What a treat! They offer the traditional meat and meat and cheese version and also a breakfast kolache, which is absolutely stuffed with eggs, cheese and potatoes. read more

We came in behind a rather large group, no big deal. The girl waiting on the them was very loud. A bit obnoxious. Another girl came around and offered to help us, which we appreciated. I asked her what was a chunky monkey and white knight. Her response to both was "I don't know." She never offered to find out what was in them. She said it's her first day. But that doesn't mean you don't need to know the menu. So, I ordered a caramel macchiato & a few donuts. The glaze donuts were good, the chocolate old fashion didn't taste fresh. I had an unfortunate experience at The Donut Run today. I stopped by the store around 10:30 AM and clearly stated that I wanted a sausage jalapeño bun. I also asked about their pizza buns, and the cashier--a young man--went to check and informed me they wouldn't be ready yet, which was totally fine. I reiterated that I just wanted the sausage jalapeño bun. The cashier mentioned something about it being a ham and cheese bun, but I don't recall any clarification, and my friend who was with me confirmed that I specifically said "sausage jalapeño." When I took a bite, I realized it was the wrong item, so I brought it to his attention and asked for the correct bun. At first, he seemed willing to grab the correct one but then said he would have to charge me again because he had "clarified" earlier. I don't believe that was the case, as I was very clear about my order. When I explained that this was a mistake on their end, he refused to make it right without charging me again. I even pointed out that losing a customer over $2.37 wasn't worth it, but he still refused. To make matters worse, as I left the building, I could hear everyone--including the people in the back--laughing. This felt incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. This experience was disappointing, to say the least. Mistakes happen, but refusing to correct them and laughing about it afterward is unacceptable. My advice to others is to double-check your order at checkout because they may not get it right. read more

I went to The Donut Run because I saw they had kolaches and I haven't had a good one since we lived in Texas. It was out of my way to go there before work but I went anyway. And I do not regret it! I got 2 kolaches and 6 donuts (I believe they have a buy 5 get one free deal but don't quote me). The gentleman that helped me was one of the owners. The NICEST man, we chatted for a few minutes while I ordered. Now, about their kolaches and donuts.... SO GOOD! I brought the donuts into work to share and all of my coworkers said they are the BEST donuts they've had in a long time!! Their kolaches were delicious also. I'm sad to write this because this place has a the BEST buttermilk bars I have ever had. This is why I couldn't fathom giving them a 1 star review. I previously wrote one about how great this place is. Unfortunately, the last 4 Saturday's that we have come in for buttermilk bars they have been out. One weekend they told me they just "didn't make any that week". They only make them on Fridays and Saturdays so that's why I always like to go on Saturday mornings. On my birthday the following weekend I wanted to make sure I got some so I pre-ordered 6 buttermilk bars for the following day because they are my favorite things in the world and they always seem to be out. When I went to pick up my custom order at the scheduled time they only had 4 of the 6 buttermilk bars I ordered and they were really dry and not nearly as good as all the other times I have had them. I was sad because I pre-ordered them knowing they haven't had any buttermilk bars left the 4 times I went in before that :( I wanted to give them another chance this weekend because I'm telling you this place is SO GOOD but they were all out again. I always try to come in early and this time they only had about 3 donuts left on the shelf (let alone zero the buttermilk bars) at 10:30am. They don't close until 3:00!! Found my new favorite donuts and donut shop right here at Donut Run! I am a donut critic and they by far have the best old fashioned and cake donuts. The texture is perfect which makes it so fantastic. Not just the best donuts but the employees are fabulous and so friendly. I wish I would've asked the cute girl for her name today who helped me put together the best dozen donuts just before they closed as I was in a panic to find some for Halloween tomorrow. Must Go!!! Just having moved to St. George, it's been shocking how few and far between the donut shops are here, so we are so excited to have The Donut Run! The donuts are yummy and so is the kolache dough... but... they use patty sausage in their kolaches, which is unauthentic and disappointing but I still am a fan of this shop! Just hoping the initial use of patty sausage is a cost cutting measure to get the store opened and that they will switch to authentic Texas kolache recipes very soon!! At least give us 1 Texas jalapeño sausage and cheese option! I'll pay the upcharge! If your up early around 5am and go here you will get hot and fresh donuts which are amazing! Been here a few times and they've been very friendly. We showed up after they closed (we didn't realize that) and they were kind enough to still offer us donuts they had left. It's nice to have a place making fresh donuts! The kolaches are good but just not my favorite, personally my favorite type I've had elsewhere used a cheddar/jalapeño sausage and then a fresh slice of jalapeño on top to make the bread a little spicy. But I don't go to a donut shop for kolaches that's just a bonus. If you guys made one using a spicy jalapeño sausage link and jalapeño on top I would buy them more often. read more

I love love love this place! The small Kolachis are my favorite because they have more of the sweet bread taste. The large ones are great and so filling. My fav is the sausage cheese. Getting breakfast from here is always the highlight of my morning. Today "cowboy d" prepared my order. He was very nice and got me my yummy Kolachis in less than 4 minutes. We had been waiting for the Donut Run to open as soon as we seen the coming soon sign. On the first day we went in to try their Kolach's as my wife is a Nebraska Czech girl raised eating the Kolach's her 100 percent Czech grandmother made. Boy we're we disappointed when we went in and they didn't have authentic Kolach's but something with meat in them that they called a Kolach. In Nebraska those are called Runza's. I hope the Donut Run succeeds as I love a good donut. Just wish their Kolach's we're the real deal. We were so disappointed we didn't even get a donut.
