I have never been inside the donut guy but have seen the food truck everywhere. I met another parent there for a PTO meeting for my daughter school and for one, it smells heavenly in there. I did not know they sold savory food there (limited menu). I tried the chicken Philly quesadilla with no onions and it was delicious. It was really greasy but aside from that, it was cheesy, great flavor and the quesadilla had perfect crunch. I paid $11 and I think it was worth it.
The place is small but has a nice vibe, great music and decorated tastefully. The service was great but you got to wait a few minutes. Let's get into the doughnuts. They were freash and every flavor was giving a taste of the name, apple pie , blueberry cheese cake, banana cheese cake etc. I would definitely return and recommend if you in the area and need a sweet fixing.
Stopped in here a few days ago after leaving a strawberry patch and wanted a funnel cake. The guy helping us was very nice and helpful. We ordered inside and sat inside. The decor is very bright and fun. It looks very similar to the location that was downtown. I also ordered a maple donut to go. The funnel cake was hot, fresh and delicious. You can tell the oil is fresh or changed regularly as it didn't taste oil...which is wild that I have experienced old oil at establishments...NOT THIS ONE! Definitely delicious and a welcomed change in Sandhills! I pray that they stay open. They are so delicious.
I recently went to a farmers market and got to try their donuts! I went with the minis where you get to do one topping- off course I had to get Cinnabon. And let me tell you these things were hot, fresh, crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside and just so delicious. The Cinnabon flavor was spot on. Since I got them I've been thinking about when I can get more. Last night I found their actual store base which I'm so excited about.

Had to stop by on National Donut Day to pay my respects for Donuts J I initially planned on getting just one, but walked away with 3 because they all looked so good. I had the cookies and cream, strawberry shortcake and M&Ms. All were great, but my favorite was the cookies & cream. The strawberry shortcake brought out fresh when I arrived, which meat I had to get it lol. I believe they're a brand new location. I love the overall feel of the place. Very spacious and welcoming. A total hippie/progressive type place I love to support. Visit and support! I'll be sure to drop by whenever I'm in Columbia.
I love having this location on this side of town. Being able to get a hot fresh "fair" treat anytime I want is great! Everything is cooked fresh. I've had the funnel cake, mini powdered sugar donuts and mini cinnamon sugar/ powdered sugar donuts . All were very good but I prefer the mini donuts! The customer service is good as well. It's dimly lit inside and the usually have music playing with I don't mind.

And just when I thought they had an assortment of donuts, I saw they have ice cream (regular and waffle cones), AND funnel cakes, elephant ears, fried Oreos, lattes...you name it! Now onto the main event, the donuts. Here are my ratings in exact order: 1) Cookies n Cream - This has a cookies and cream filling and that took it to another level! Great balance of doughy and sweet. Very soft and moist as well. Lord knows I hate dry dough. 2) Butter Pecan - It's really a tie for first! The buttercream icing was melting which made the donut softer and even more juicy. A perfect combo of sweet, nuts and smoothness. Definitely had a light buttery "feel" to it. Pure perfection and the "donutteer" (yep I gave her a "fancy" donut title) told me that this is a very popular item. I see why. 3) Old Fashion - overall a good standard donut. Better than the fast food chains I tell you that in regards to authenticity and freshness! It's a legit real donut. 4) Red Velvet - I can say this and the Old Fashion taste more like cake than donut unlike the first too. And I must say, if it was cake, it'll be a dang good red velvet cake and a lot of people can't say that. Not too sweet, just enough, and not dry. 5) Cereal n Milk. It was good but not really my think. If you like Cap'n Crunch, then have at it. I expecting a different kind of flavor than what I experienced with this one, yet it wasn't a bad one. Still good, just not my fave. 6) Salted Caramel Oreo - I gave this one to my teammate because this was her fave. I'm not really a "salted caramel" kind of girl in general as I've concluded, and this confirmed it. Not bad however not my thing. They also had a churro donut that I should've gotten however I WILL be back because this place was amazing! Didn't see a bathroom however I wasn't looking for one either. HIGHLY recommend! Please do yourself and your family a favor, and come get this deliciousness in a box!
Stopped by The Donut Guy in Columbia, SC and wow... this place is a whole vibe From the moment you walk in, the colorful murals and fun decor (that donut truck wall + vintage car counter!) make it feel super unique and welcoming . Definitely a spot you want to hang out and snap pics in. Now the donuts... SO good. The hot mini donuts were fresh, soft, and covered in powdered sugar perfection . The loaded funnel cake with cookies, chocolate drizzle, and powdered sugar was over-the-top in the best way -- sweet, crunchy, and totally worth it . Everything tasted fresh and made with care, and the presentation alone had me excited before the first bite. If you're craving something sweet and fun, this is definitely a must-stop spot! We stopped by The Donut Guy after seeing a delicious post on Facebook, and we're so glad we did! The shop is adorable with plenty of photo-op spots and so many mini-donut flavors to choose from--it was hard to pick. BIG donuts in the case of the available flavors. It was bright, cheerful, and smelling like a donut heaven! There's plenty of seating, tons of cute photo ops, and their décor made the whole space feel welcoming. We went with the Split Decisions minis (half Butter Pecan, half Snickers) and grabbed two lemonades--Passion Peach and Tropical Island. The donuts were beyond good: hot, fluffy, and packed with flavor. The lemonades were delicious on their own, but mixing the two flavors together was pure perfection. Parking was easy and right out front, which is always a plus! Three happy customers were left with cravings satisfied and smiling--we'll definitely be back! read more

Who can't be happy when eating Donuts ?!! I must have walked by this place a hundred times and never walked in. Now I am kicking myself ! Everyone knows the feeling of when you walk into a place and you either get the instinct if it is clean or not. And let me tell you -- you immediately know the owners here take pride in not only their delicious treats - but also keeping the establishment clean and welcoming. 5 stars all around for the friendliness and knowledge of the staff. Great options for the treats. Great food made fresh daily. And the cleanliness and all around ambiance. We can't wait to heat up the donuts we didn't get to finish for breakfast tomorrow! We visited this amazing black owned donut shop over the weekend. This shop had some of the most unique flavors I've ever seen. We got the banana pudding donut and the red velvet minis and strawberry short cake minis. The Girl serving us was super sweet and helpful. This also have the cutest Valentine photo area to take pictures and outside seating for anyone that wants to enjoy the fresh air. The flavor was rich and savory. We can't wait to return to try other flavors. They also have fan favorites from the fair like funnel cakes on the menu! read more

When I tell you my pregnant heart could not have been more excited to experience this business.... and I was not disappointed. The staff was super friendly, and helped me make my selections. The smells are heavenly and the choices are amazing. I went with a chocolate maple bacon, a cheesecake stuffed, a blueberry cake with cream cheese drizzle, a red velvet, a cookie crumb, and a lemon crunch. I know I *need* to share with my husband and my daughter, but they might be out of luck this time! I've also had their funnel cakes and mini donuts from the truck at soda city. I went in there today to check this place out and to get a dozen donuts for my work colleagues. Fabulous service, and a fun, wide variety of donuts plus coffee available. Everyone at work has been raving about how light and fluffy the donuts are and how creative the flavors are, including s'mores, cereal and milk, and an inventive snack flavor with peanut butter frosting, marshmallows, pretzels, popcorn and M&Ms. All of them have been a hit! The flavors may change some daily so check their social media for the day's lineup. The Donut Guy also has a window where you can order some hot, fresh options, like funnel cakes, donuts with custom toppings, glazed donuts, fried Oreos, etc. Hope this business does well and is in the Vista a long, long time. Got this for my boyfriend's mom. And she normally isn't the biggest sweets fan, but she really loved the donuts from here. Texture wise, and taste 10/10! It was also not that sweet compared to other donuts. Service was amazing and the ambiance is also great. Highly recommend going to the store or get some donuts during Soda City! read more

You can't go wrong with donuts! We visited for the first time and had a sampler of the big donuts and a set of the minis as well as an iced latte. All were delicious. My kid loved every bit of it but really perked up at the unicorn minis that we picked up from the school bus counter. The display at the front entrance had the larger sized donuts. There was a mix of specialty and more traditional large donuts. Even though it was the end of the day, the donuts in the counter display tasted really fresh. I've tried the other Columbia area specialty donut places and the batter that they use on the ones here we're definitely the lightest. The location is super convenient. It's right across from the Blue Marlin making it the perfect stop to grab some guilty snacks for later. I definitely recommend adding this place on your stop list if you're looking for something sweet, unique and light to eat. Next time I'll be trying the elephant ear or final cake. Not your typical doughnut shop and I love that about them. I personally tried the Cinnabon ice cream and I shared the 6 doughnuts with my friends. I forgot the names but please reference the picture. What ever you pick you will not be disappointed. We were all in agreement that the doughnuts tasted fresh and delicious. If you have a nagging sweet tooth, or it's that time of the month when you can no longer fight off those sugar cravings, then check them out before 6pm on M-F. I arrived around 2pm-ish on a Tuesday and things were looking kinda slim, so get there early for the best selections. Parking maybe a doozie during peak/rush hours but I was able to parking directly in front of the door during my trip. Pretty decor too so you can post pretty content on your socials. read more

These donuts are always so delicious, they all have a great presentation too. My favorites are the Cinnabon classic donut, and two of their flavors of the week: Christmas Unicorn, and Raspberry Cheesecake Brownie. Loved this stop!! Driving through SC and couldn't be happier to have stumbled into The Donut Guy. We ordered a small order of Snickers mini donuts and a six pack of donuts! I unfortunately did not visit the location. My hubby and I were visiting and they happened to be at the farmers market. I ordered small mini donuts in unicorn, cinnamon sugar and s'mores. Unfortunately I got 2 orders of s'mores and one cinnamon sugar. I also didn't know what to expect as this was my first time but I knew I didn't order 2 orders of the same thing. I will be back next time we're in town because the donuts were AMAZING. I never felt gross after eating 5 at one time which is a lot for me as I'm not a huge donut person. I am so excited for this business to be open! My kids and I loved visiting them during our trips to Soda City but now that they have a storefront we can visit them more often. The donuts are insanely delicious. The minis are my favorite. The red velvet and unicorn are my favorite, plus it's a black owned business which is huge in my book! read more

Our number one stop for something sweet. The decor is the best in here. I ordered through a delivery app. I kind of regret that because I missed out on the experience of going in. Can't wait be able to actually go in. With that said... When I received my order, the first donut I bit into was fresh. The frosting was melting, which was messy but I LOVED it. These donuts have love, flavor and character! Great experience!!! read more
