My son asked me if I wanted a donut, and I said sure. We were heading to Greenville and we made this pit-stop. And boy was I happy! My son used to make deliveries here! When we walked in, it was about 20 minutes before they closed. The owner recognized my son and we chatted for a moment. She was kind and very personable. Others walked in behind us and they were told "we will be here after closing anyway, so come on in!" They were very welcoming! We looked at their menu and made our selections for their vanilla based cake donuts. Once we handed our sheet over, the donuts were made. The atmosphere in here is so bright and happy! You will love it! The donuts were absolutely delicious! I am not in this area often but I will make a stop again to get more. Try them out! read more

Just relocated to the Columbia so I tried Chickenbutt donuts yesterday. I really like the concept of picking your own toppings however the donut itself was incredibly dry. It doesn't matter what you put on the top if the donut is not good. Need to make a much better donut, sorry. read more

What makes Chickenbutt 5 stars is the fact that you can customize your donuts! It's fun that you can create your own! They have sooo many toppings, glazes, icings, spreads, and "fillings" (they don't actually fill the donut, the fillings go on top). The possibilities are endless! Everything we had was great! Because it's made to order, the cereal topping was good and crunchy, since it wasn't sitting out all day like other donut shops. I love that they have bags of misshapen donuts and day old donuts they didn't sell for cheaper! The owners were so friendly! This is such a fun experience for anyone, no matter their age! Ugh! Chocolate topping was fake and grainy, poor quality bacon bits, mediocre donut, horrible place. The guy behind the counter has the aggressive energy of someone who tells you to smile then calls you a slur when you don't feel like it. Even before opening the door, they are insistent that this is a happy place, then bombard you with no less than 4 sets of directions for ordering. If donuts take that much instruction, your business model is messed up. They don't have prices because all those instructions are about what info they want from you, not what info you want to know. The counter jerk will reluctantly provide a range of possible prices if you ask. Would not recommend because of poor product or personnel, but since they have both, I'm warning you off. read more

This place is very similar to the other national chain doughnut places like Duck Donuts in that they make customized doughnuts and packages. It is very good though. Their doughnuts are cakey like Dunkin rather than light as Krispy Kreme makes theirs. The choices you have to customize are overwhelming. However you can choose from their more popular preselected ones if you want to go with a tried and true. For the first I push asked the kids pack on the last trip. My child really loved the way they came out and enjoyed their taste. I'm partial to the fruity pebbles but enjoy all of them. This is a must stop whether you are just passing through or staying in the area! Not that you could ever be sad in a donut shop, but the owners are truly the happiest most polite people I have ever met! The ordering process is easy & gives you time to really look over the menu to decide what you want to order before making your way to the counter. We've been wanting to try Chickenbutt donuts for a while now and we finally made our way to Chapin to grab a few! The donuts are good, don't get us wrong... but they are advertised as "made to order", but maybe a better way to describe them are "topped to order". So what I mean here, is that the donuts are already pre-made and are just topped to your liking when you order. Nothing is really wrong with that, but what happens is you end up with a cold/cooler temp donut with fresh toppings. So for context, we got a classic glazed, two blueberry glazed and a red velvet glazed. The flavors of the donuts were great... a nice cakey texture and the glazed toppings were on point, but if the donuts were hot and fresh this review would be an automatic 5 stars! Donuts. Who doesn't like them? Well I have oddly never been a huge fan. Coming from New England Dunkin was pretty much the standard and they no longer make their donuts in house. They are made way in advance and likely a day old by the time your hand touches them. In comes Chicken Butt donuts into my life. I move to Chapin. I pass this donut shop with a funny name daily. I start to follow their Facebook page. I see they don't have the yeast type donuts I typically like but I'm not a hater of the cake variety. I see they do a bunch of random fun toppings for their donuts and the owner posts many funny things on Facebook and likes to entice customers with low cut shirts exposing his hairless chest. So I decided it was time to try the donuts. Hate is a strong word but equally as strong is it's opposite. Love. Are the donuts good? Of course they are amazing but often food is enhanced by the atmosphere and culture in which it's consumed. Like hotdogs at a game or Mac and cheese when camping. Chicken butt takes me to a magical land of happiness and love. All donut toppings are added when you order. No cabinet of donuts where you quickly pick out which ones you want and realize how hard it is to count to 12 under pressure. The sweetest donuts one could ever enjoy, I ordered - upon suggestion of the cashier - a variation of the "Chickens Choice 6," which turned out to be one buttercream, one maple bacon, one Oreo crumb, one Reece's crumb or peanut butter drizzle, one Fruity Pebbles on strawberry glaze, and one sprinkles on white glaze. I read about Chickenbutt on Cola Daily a few months ago. Been wanting to try it out. We're rather addicted to Duck Donuts but the drive from Irmo is a bit much. Chickenbutt is closer... So today we gave it a try. Despite the Chapin address, it's not all the way up in Chapin. It's between Chapin and Ballentine. (Note that it's rather nondescript; blink and you'll miss it.) We arrived around 1:30pm (Sunday). There were several customers. The service was friendly and helpful. The donuts are made fresh. They have a crispy outside for a light cake center. You can mix and match topping. For me, the standout was a cream cheese frosting topped with Fruity Pebbles. Our girls liked the sugar frosting with gummy bears. My wife liked the chocolate frosting with peanut butter drizzle. Oh... Although I didn't have coffee, they serve Loveland. Nice local touch! Our girls immediately ranked this above Duck Donuts. Great donuts! Great coffee! Great people! All in all a wonderful local "small business"! They serve custom, made to order cake donuts!
