BEST DONUTS IN THE CAROLINAS!!! If that is the only thing you take away from this review - let it be that these donuts are the BEST in NC and SC. Every single donut, fritter, donut hole, long john - you cannot go wrong. My favorite is the chocolate Long John with white buttercream. The owner is precious and so unbelievably friendly! She even threw in a few fee donut holes with our order. The building itself is very cozy and reminds me of a local spot that you can count on for consistent quality and service. So!!! Now for the long story. My brother used to live up in Burlington, NC and would bring donuts from a place called "NC JELLY DONUTS" every time he came to visit. Long story short - we became obsessed. He would bring a dozen donuts and they would be gone before the end of the weekend. Well... the time came for him to move away from Burlington and we all cried because we do not know the next time we would have "NC JELLY DONUTS". Each week we would get in the phone planning our next trip to Burlington - patiently waiting to get our donut fix. We didn't want to branch out because we thought we had found the best. Flash forward to 4/2/2026 - my brother is visiting the CLT area. For the past 6 months have been researching donut shops in the GREATER Charlotte area since we aren't able to get up to Burlington this time. All of my sources have told me - try Momo Donuts - they are incredible. So, that is exactly what we do. From the moment we walked in the door at Momo Donut, we felt at home. Like a warm hug after a long journey. My brother's ears perk up, nose twitches, he looks at me and instantly says "This is NC JELLY DONUTS"!!! I explain to him that... no, this is Momo donuts and is different. When we go to pay for our donuts we mention about our addiction to NC Jelly Donut and ask if they have ever heard of them. That is when the owner bursts into a smile and says "Oh yes, that is my sister!!!" - WHAT A SMALL WORLD! I am happy to share that the addiction has resumed and we are so grateful that Momo donut is now just a short car ride away. A sense of peace and order has returned to the balance of our lives. So, I apologize that there are no photos - the donuts were consumed too quickly to snap a picture. But don't worry - I will visiting again soon! So grateful for this family and their commitment to bringing joy through their baked goods. What a small word that we they have become so vital in our families life. What's not to love about a fresh soft doughnut? Momo doughnuts was an unplanned stop while looking for a quick bite on our road trip to FL. As soon as I saw the little flecks of strawberry in the strawberry glazed yeast doughnut I knew that would be delicious and it really was. Normally I would not choose this one because they are usually too sweet for me. Not this one! The little flecks of strawberry gave it just enough tartness to balance it out. The actual yeast doughnut was so pillowy soft too. It was super fresh. We also chose an old fashioned glazed. It was the largest old fashioned I've ever had and it was just a good as the strawberry one. Momo is doing everything right. Service was super friendly and fast too. I only came here to support local/small businesses, BUT oh my gosh these donuts were fantastic! They are the fluffiest and yummiest donuts I have had! They have some very Instagrammable donuts on their menu (I'm looking at you Fruity Pebbles donut!). The flavors are very creative as well, but you have to be warned that some donuts (Blueberry Crumble) despite being delicious you will need to eat over the sink! The donut case displays their donuts so proudly, it is difficult not to step up and say "One of each please!" ****This is an update!!**** I came to town for the 4th of July, and my game plan was to drive over to SC to get some MoMo Donuts! I called on Tuesday to place a pick-up order, but my calls went unanswered! I was able to get in touch with them the next day an hour after the store opened! I placed an order for 2 dozen "assorted donuts" with a pickup time of 1 pm! I was driving from NC! After about 40 minutes into my drive, MoMo called to tell me that they only have a limited supply of donuts left, and the pickings were slim! I was still an hour away! After driving an hour and a half and through 3 rain storms, I finally arrived, and these are the donuts that MoMo managed to scrape together for my order! I'm very disappointed because of the fact that I called and placed my order at 7 am that morning only to be giving what didn't sell! And to make matters worse, they are now closed until Tuesday because of the 4th of July! I'm leaving on Sunday and headed back to Atlanta! Many options from maple bacon, fruity pebbles, chocolate covered, old fashioned glazed, blueberry glaze, raspberry filled, red velvet crumble and glazed, etc. Not sure if they had one with nuts but I'm sure it can be made upon request. Woke up early to finally try the donuts I have been hearing so much about! As a Californian, I'm pretty picky about my donuts and it's been hard to find a fresh donut place that gave me the feeling of being back home. I am happy to say... I found the perfect place! We arrived when it opened, boy, was it a treat! Easy to park in front and the whole store was ready for business with a massive amount of pre-folded boxes ready to go! The service was very friendly and we were in and out in 10 minutes flat! We could tell this is a hidden gem because everyone started trickling in behind us to get their Saturday morning treats for their families etc. I ran into another Californian in line who also agreed this is the flavors we grew up with, clean, sugary, but the cakes were expertly made with flavors that hit the spot. Our ratings were these, Raspberry Filled was our favorite because that jam center was so good with Bavarian Cream filled right behind it, next for us was the glazed and glazed iced, and the cake donut was a nice difference in density but it was still light, and the apple fritter had great flavor we just think it fried just a minute too long before being iced. I think I'm in love with Momo. Well. OK, her donuts at least. True confession, I've been here at least a dozen times before. Why haven't I written a review? My excuse, if you call it that, is that I only review places I've physically eaten at. But Momo's has virtually no place to even sit, it's take-out only. Perhaps subconsciously I've been trying to keep these incredible donuts to myself. It's too late, though, the secret is out. Momo's stays busy from opening until she inevitably runs out mid-day; on weekends there is now often a line. You won't find any exotic flavors here, no Yuzu Meringue, no Hunk'a Hunk'a Burnin' Peanut Butter Banana. What you will find are all of our favorites, baked fresh daily and of the highest quality and consistency, reasonably priced and served by helpful and friendly staff. Everyone has their favorite, mine are the Apple Fritters. Perfectly crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, full of fruit and cinnamon and sweetness. Absolutely delicious. I also like the Bavarian Cream-Filled, while my wife likes the Glazed Old-Fashioned. There are SO MANY choices, I've yet to try them all. Be sure to visit Momo's on your next visit to Rock Hill. Brother-in-law recommended these donuts for our Saturday breakfast and let me say, they did not disappoint! I guess Momo is known for their apple fritters. There was only one when we arrived, but we snagged it and it was so good! Flavorful with crisped edges. Since we were feeding a group of 6 adults and 3 kids we got a dozen donuts total. The old fashion donuts were fun with maple, chocolate and glaze options, the Bavarian creme were full and generous, the cinnamon sugar donuts were fluffy and light, and the cinnamon roll and blueberry crumble were exquisite! Not a bad donut in the bunch! There were probably 2 dozen other donut options to try that we didn't, but I think Momo definitely has a donut to fit anyone's palate.
