This place is a great spot. Hidden away but not for long! I would love to see you guys expand and open in Lexington or the surrounding areas. The donuts are always fresh and the staff is amazing. Thanks for always keeping that small town feel. read more

What can I say besides AWESOME! First off, Tre and Sue (owners) work their butts off to keep these donuts fresh, a little crazy, and delicious. You won't find anything here that isn't unique in some way, but you're guaranteed to find something you'll enjoy. Cannoli filled donut? Yes, they have that. Donut with bacon bits? Yep. The menu can be overwhelming at times, but as it says on the menu, "Done't be overwhelmed, it's just DONUTS". They even have some paper order forms that help you order exactly what you want, or just choose a pre-made assortment. Be sure to pair your delicious treat with some locally sourced coffee! read more

It's not just the amazingly delicious donuts that make this place so special, it's the wonderful (and crazy) owners. The owners and staff are so attentive, courteous and friendly. The doughnuts were fresh and the topping selection was great! The staff was friendly and explained how everything worked to us.

Amazing customer service is what sets this place apart. I'm always hoping for either fast OR friendly customer service because you rarely, if ever, get it all, but here we got both. Of course the donuts were good, kids throughly enjoyed it. I truly can't speak highly enough of the customer service. These people do it right. read more

Stopped here back in the spring with my kids while visiting family in town. This place is a full-on donut experience! There is no shortage of delicious options and the owner took the time to explain it all to us as well as make recommendations...added bonus, he is hilarious and their FB page is totally worth a follow! Will be back for sure next time we are in town! read more

Looking for amazing doughnut variety, adorable atmosphere all at a great price? Then this is the place you want to visit. With different base doughnut options everyday, tons of glaze/drizzle choices and too many toppings to mention, it's impossible to not find something everyone will love. Their coffee is great and the ice for iced coffee is made from coffee so it doesn't water down the flavor. There are plenty of flavored syrups you can add yourself to give your coffee that perfect amount of flavor for you. Not a coffee drinker? They have fair life milk and juice options as well. Don't forget to pick up bags of previous day doughnuts at an amazing price on your way out. Pop them in the microwave at home for a few seconds and you will never know they weren't freshly backed that day! read more

Update Oct 2019 So I see they are opening a Dunkin Donuts across from Walmart in Ballentine... I hope all local folks who want a donut will continue to go to chicken butt! There really is no comparison ‍ And, if Dunkin wanted our business they had plenty of time to open a location in the area before a local entrepreneur did so. ------------------------------------------------ I was just saying today after church I can't believe there isn't a donut shop near Ballentine! I Yelp donut and see we have a new place. I drive over in this crazy rain and it was worth the trip!! I relocated here from the DC area recently so I've eaten at several fancy donut shops and I wasn't a fan. Too big, too cakey, too much frosting, etc. these were a perfect compromise!! Delicious but traditional style cake and just the right amount of great tasting frosting! Don't miss this place if you are a donut fan!! Open Sunday too is a big plus! read more

I can't say enough AWESOME things about this business. Sue and Terry have been so friendly to us since we moved from out of town. Getting a maple bacon donut is a MUST when you visit. My kids enjoy these donuts, but we won't be eating here anymore after the way we were treated by the owner today. After waiting for our three donuts today, while watching dozens go by, I walked up to the counter to see where ours were and pay for them. He acted like I had asked for all operations to cease so I could be served, and I assure you that I was not being demanding. He was belittling, assuring me that he wouldn't let me leave without taking my money. "These girls," as he called his employees, apologized for his rude remarks. Oh, and this was 15 minutes after he opened, not after hours of hard work. My six year olds noticed how rude he was and are fine with not going back despite loving the buttercream. read more

This place is great! My husband was following us on Snap Chat and seen we were close to here on the way to Tybee Island. On the way back he kept kidding us about stopping there . They were closing in a few min. And we were 94 miles away. My GD called and ask if we could buy a T shirt and then leave it outside. They said yes and they would leave it in the Chicken Butt in front of the shop. We all cracked up. Then a few min. Later they called and said the big chicken had a wasp nest in it so they would put it in the bush with red berries. We made a ton of turns too soon and got lost and was laughing so hard. Then we found it . Looked all around and found the shirt in a bag in the bush. It was such a great memory for me , and my 2 daughters and grand daughter to have . My husband loved the shirt. I only wish they were open so we could buy some of the yummy looking donuts ! Hopefully we can make it there one day. Thank you so much for the great memory ! read more

The donuts here are custom-made and delicious! It is family-owned and just opened less than two weeks ago, so I'm sure they didn't expect the outpouring of community support... If you've never tried this place...go NOW! Order the Chickens Choice and enjoy. You won't find day-old doughnuts and stale toppings here. They make it right when you order, so it's super fresh.
