Tucked away in a quiet corner, not far from Kings Cross is The Dolphin. With other pubs packed out watching the World Cup, dragging three large bags, the last thing that we wanted was to be in the way of a throng of fans trying to grab a beer and watch a game. The Dolphin was perfect - quiet and out of the way enough to reduce the chances of commuters or tourists swinging by for a pint before catching a train, with outdoor seating that allowed us to sit outside in peace, enjoying the humidity of a June summer in London.
With freshly made Thai food available for cheap as chips prices, this is a pleasant place to spend an afternoon. On the downside, when we visited, when visiting the ladies, we discovered that the sink no longer existed, having been semi-smashed from the wall, leaving only a bottle of hand sanitizer. Fortunately the kitchen next door allowed us to wash our hands. Rather strange but hopefully it will have been mended by the time I visit next. read more
