Had a good time seeing the sights and stopped for a bite here. It was a summer weekend and the place was very busy, even so, we found a place to sit. I had bangers and mash for the first time ever with a red wine reduction which was very tasty. Service, atmosphere, cleanliness, and music where just right. For a pub/restaurant you can't go wrong. Enjoy!

Amazing beer garden with views of the Cutty Sark, really great craft beers. Everything on tap was cold, there were great fruity ciders to choose from! Close to the underground station maybe a 5 min walk from DRL. We came here at night when everything was lit up, a great evening with great atmosphere!

This is a tough review for me to write... Personally I would give it 4-5 stars... But my 3 friends were very unimpressed - and I Yelp for the group :( I had the fish and chips and it was really really good! Sabie had the chicken salad and asked for dressing on the side - it was not. Other members of the group all wanted items that were not available - multiple items were not available... I guess I got lucky ? Ambiance was good... We were seated relatively quickly ... So personally I don't have any complaints... But much like the Thai place I got food poisoning at and everyone else loved (they got 2 stars) I have to judge this based on the group experience

A reliable little pub located near the pier at the bottom of Greenwich's village centre. One of the main draws to the Gipsy Moth is the carvery style lunches on Sundays. Roast meat with all the trimmings for under a tenner - significantly under in fact, at £8.90. There is a beer garden which is very nice in the summertime, perfect for relaxing with some Pimms or a delicious cocktail. I've never tried the beers here but its the usual big brewery suspects, I'm afraid. One thing I wish they would change is the music - bad lounge music seems to almost always be playing! Its quite popular too, so be prepared to wait for a table.

Divine scotch egg while we wait for our roast!

While you can hang out in the crowd and grab a pint easily without that, if you want to dine in the quieter dining area with views of the water you may want to do so as well. Especially if you want the elbow room to enjoy such great food. The Mayflower is named after the famous ship carrying the early American settlers, and the church tied to this voyage is steps away where apparently an unmarked grave hosts the resting spot of the captain of that ship. It's candlelit and kind of romantic on the top floor with great views. For food, my wife had the chicken pie and I had the special of the day, lamb stew with housemade potato salad. It was warm, flavorful and delicious, sentiments my wife shared on the pot pie. We split an order of mac and cheese, and it was also delicious. Such great comfort food. I had a small scotch pour and an ale, my wife a glass of wine. I had a small port to pair with the sticky toffee pudding at the end which was terrific. My wife swears by Gordon Ramsey's recipe of the same but this one was hard to beat IMO.

We ordered onion rings to start, the breading on them was amazing! It was light and crispy as opposed to being heavy and greasy like a lot of onion rings. I also loved the curry ketchup that came with them. I'm not generally a curry fan, but it definitely worked with this dish. My husband got fish and chips. The fish was perfectly fried and the tarter sauce was obviously house made because it tasted very fresh and lemony. The chips were fine, but unremarkable in my opinion. For my meal, I ordered pumpkin walnut gnocchi. It was delicious! Just enough pumpkin without being overpowering. There was quite a bit of kale (I think it was kale, the menu didn't say) that came with the dish. It was very good, but probably could have been dialed back a little. The service was friendly and prompt. Definitely a great way to start our London vacation!

The establishment has a nice mixture of cozy and airy, which was perfect for a lazy(ish) Sunday. I hate to use this word, but I'll use it anyway (because I can't think of a better descriptor): the service here is "super" friendly, and very knowledgeable, particularly regarding the ales on tap. The barkeep gave us a few sample pours without waiting for us to ask, which we greatly appreciated. Because of that, we were more than happy with the pints we ordered. Moving on to the food: the roasts were delicious, in particular the pork loin, which was moist and flavorful. I enjoyed my roast beef as well. The Yorkshire pudding was wonderful and I might have been just as happy eating that alone for my meal, to be honest. The pub is in walking distance of the touristy areas of Greenwich, so it's easy enough to put some good food in your belly and continue on to your sightseeing, afterward.
