The view from the deck to the pub
    Tricia Z.

Our host was superb, providing honest feedback on the various adult beverage we were considering. (He suggested is to taste before we committed!) The fish and chips that my husband had were light and crispy, not greasy in the least! And the Beef pie, which I had, with the gravy and mash was divine! Certainly not pre-fab food. We chose this place because of its historical significance for the US. The bar area is like you walked into an old shop hundreds of years ago while still having the local pub vibe. We will certainly be back the next time we travel across the pond.

My first time in England , I was looking forward to visiting one of the old pubs and came across this one. The outside & inside looked awesome. Me and my teenage daughter came for dinner. We didn't know the protocol do we wait to be seated and or seat yourself so we asked the male bartender(with a beard) who by the way was very kind thru out the whole experience. But there was a male server that openly mocked me then laughed after i asked the question like I was an idiot. I've been a bartender for 11 years where i come from that's not ok. There was no signs on what to do my bad for asking a question. Food was great but that male server needs a lesson in manners.

Came here for the bread pudding, stayed for the view and a nice beer. The bread pudding was fantastic -- one of the best in the cities . The cake was rich and moist, and the sweetness was enhanced by the creamy ice cream and the chocolate/caramel sauce. The view is awesome. It's as if you're on the pier of the river Thames.

We stopped in the Mayflower on our first evening in town. My bestie hadn't been to London before and we both hadn't been to the Mayflower so it only seemed fitting to come in for a drink. I also wanted a Sunday roast so when I knew we'd be coming in for a drink I booked us in for dinner as well. We did drinks downstairs and dinner upstairs. As a non smoker, I often forget about pub life within minutes I was engulphed on the patio - not my fav thing. Dinner was so special, upstairs dining is simply put - magical, in every sense. We both had the Sunday roast special and shared the sticky toffee pudding. I'd just made homemade sticky toffee puddings in the weeks leading up to our visit and I can say mine at home were spot on to the Mayflowers. Superb in every way! Great spot, a little out of the way but we train everywhere and don't mind walking. Definitely worth a visit if you're trying to do some of the older pubs in town. Service was great!

This iconic pup known as the Mayflower Pub is remarkable. When you walk inside it feels like you teleported back in time. The vibe is good it's outdoor seating on the patio where you can have a view of the waterfront. Every worker here was extremely friendly and helpful. Our server was on top of it during our lunch. This was the best fish and chips that I've ever eaten. Crispy fish with good Tatar sauce and delicious fries. The green beans were also yummy. If you're looking for some good beer and fish and chips this is the place.

I would sleep with a corpse for this Sticky Toffee Pudding recipe. All of our food was wonderful but the dessert was the star of the show.

Great history and really good pub food. I had a couple pints and the fish and chips. It was super crispy and not to heavy in batter. The beers were cold and the service was great. Definitely super cool ambiance I highly recommend sitting on the ground floor by the bar for the atmosphere and it's more quiet than then upstairs restaurant.

First, let me say, we loved the history of this British Pub. The pub is old, quaint, and authentic. We were seated upstairs, and Lucy was our server, she was excellent. Our first stop was the bar where Mr. Bee got a pint of Mayflower Scurvy Ale, and loved it. Then we were directed upstairs for our reservation and were seated by the window overlooking the River Thames. Lucy was prompt to the table, was friendly, talkative, and was kind enough to get the Mayflower Descendant book for us to sign. Lucy offered great suggestions for dinner as she lit the actual candles on each table. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting with her. We started with the Burrata and tomato appetizer which was fresh and scrumptious. Mr. Bee went with the traditional British Fish and Chips and said it was delicious. I chose the vegetarian British pie which was a traditional pie, but filled with jackfruit which I love. It has the same consistency as beef, and the gravy was rich. You would never know it was vegetarian. It was served with perfectly cooked mashed potatoes, carrots, broccoli, and cabbage. I loved it. We had such a great time, enjoyed every minute of the pub experience, and will go back the next time we are in London.

Best fish and chips I've had in all England, Ireland and France. Thats a huge claim! The linguine with prawns and chorizo was excellent as well. Great place. Super amazing staff!! Like everyone was awesome. Cool outside seating available by the water if you are quick. If not great options inside and even upstairs

Great old school pub atmosphere! Welcomed wamly when we entered. No booking but they had seats in a small area which were perfect. Our server was delightful. We got the Sunday roast and it was perfection!!! Just like Mum used to make. We enjoyed our Christmas eve afternoon at this pub. Service and food outstanding!

One of my absolute favorite places to eat when I am in London. I have been there twice and loved it every time. The first time was on a Sunday for their roastie and it did not disappoint. They are known for having the best Sunday roasts. Also not to be missed is their scotch egg and their sticky toffee pudding!

The bartender let us know that while the sign read food was served upstairs only, they were under construction so food would be served downstairs in the main pub area instead--but not until 5 (it was around 4:30 pm). We thanked him and decided to grab a drink and wait for food service. The menu of house ales, lagers, bitters, etc. + spirits was one I later saw at 1-2 other pubs who must share the same brewery. I tried a couple of beers and both were great. My wife had a cocktail which she enjoyed. The most noticeable thing at first was how quiet this pub is-- you could hear a pin drop. This likely changes later in the evening, but without music playing and the scattered patrons softly chatting at their tables, it was very quiet. Which really worked for us as we fought jet lag. We ordered food at the bar, my wife had fish and chips and I had the sausage and mash platter topped with onion rings. Both were delicious and fairly priced. This was all in all a great first pub to visit in London.

The steak was tender, rich, and slow-cooked to perfection, packed with deep, savory flavor from the ale. Every bite was hearty and comforting -- exactly what you want when you're in London. The gravy was silky and robust, perfect for dipping those thick-cut chips, which were golden on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
