What is not to love about a dog bar?! No really? . Since I've moved to Charlotte this has always been a spot to hit when I'm in noda, either I'll take my mini dachshund or I'll be the weird person who goes with no dog just to pet others lol me and my girlfriend love dogs and love this bar. . Service has always been great and on point, and sometimes even the dogs walk in the bar. Beer is priced good and never on the high end. If you love dogs and wanna pet them or bring yours to play it's the best spot to hit up. . A huge outside patio for the dogs to play and an area with a pool and slides (In the summer ) it's dog heaven. Cheers!

Great atmosphere! My little scruffy loved sitting up on the bar with me getting his "drink". Only complaint was that it was hot but it was 90 and humid out so it's not their fault!

Best place ever. A bar where your dog is totally welcomed. They have an outdoor area and on one side they have a small kiddy pool in case it gets hot and on the other side is an area with some ramps the dogs can play on. In between is seating for people. Inside people had smaller dogs on the bar itself. Some dogs were walking and some were sitting in their dog beds that their owners had brought with them. Beers were inexpensive. Bartender was super friendly as were the customers and their dogs. If you are visiting like me and didn't bring your dog, it is a fun place to go and pet and play with some dogs. If you live around there and have a dog go and have a drink, chat and watch your dog play. They have double gates to make sure no one escapes :)

This was my second visit to The Dog Bar and it was just as great as my first visit, but there were more dogs this time. There are several local beers on tap. The staff is very friendly. The beer prices are reasonable. On this visit, there were multiple friendly dogs running around. What a great place to drink good beer and unwind around a bunch of friendly doggies.

this one isnt my puppy, but small dogs were allowed to walk on the bar here, and lounge in beds..super cute

This seemed like a really fun idea.. I went to see my sister and her family and I took my dog..so we went to Dog Bar. Well..i think if youre a regular, and know all the other people and dogs there that night, you will have fun. No one makes sure your dog has shots, theres pee puddles and poop is just sprayed away with a hose, possibly onto my feet..im not sure any employees were present, because other than the friendly bartender, no one is identified as staff. There were alot of large dogs that werent being watched by thier owners, who then thought it was funny that i was concerned about the well being of my small dog..maybe separate sections would be a good idea The place is really cute, and they have some fun merchandise as well..inside there are lots of cool pieces of dog artwork..beer prices were awesome

We decided to give the Dog Bar a try last Saturday night. Our dog Ross is 4, so we figured he was old enough to drink legally now. We had a fun time watching Ross socialize with other dogs, as he never gets a chance to. Yes, he tries to sniff the occasional butt while we're walking through the park, but it gets crazy there when you're trying to get some exercise. Plus, at the dog bar, at least we can have a drink in our hands while Ross does his thing. All of the dogs were so well-behaved, too. We were amazed. Maybe it's the beer they have in the dog bowls? Kidding. This is a great concept and I love the option of taking your dog with you on an evening out when you have such little free time as it is. Other than the adorable dogs, I can't much about the atmosphere of the Dog Bar. They could use a little more decor and sprucing up to make it even more dogcentric than the one fire hydrant. Plus, the service was a bit lacking, the beer warm, and they were only accepting cash that night (who carries cash anymore?). So it really is about the dogs and the company you bring with you.

    Love the friendly atmosphere

The Dog Bar is a staple in our household. We love taking our Grayson there. The atmosphere is relaxing, and the amenities are exactly what you need, and nothing you don't. The dogs have free reign to play and bark and... well.. be dogs, and us humans can drink to our hearts' content. Our favorite day to go is Sunday for the $5 "big" mimosa and bloody mary specials. No bloody Mary mix here! They spice them up themselves! I also spent a good bit of time coming here on Wednesdays when my fiance was in night classes. It's a great way to break up the week for you and your pooch. :) They do not have a kitchen, but they welcome you to bring your own take out from anywhere. They even have menus behind the bar. The service here is great. Be nice to them and they'll be nice back. We love the Sarahs, but they're all great. When my parents came to visit from DC, the first thing they asked us was "When are we going to The Dog Bar?!" If that's not proof enough that we love this place, I don't know what is.

This place isnt that sanitary. There are only two dog bars i can find in charlotte, this one and the lucky dog bark bar and brewery. I think there used to be others but they closed down. Charlotte is a cool city to have dog bars, for that I definitely give it props. While this place has two bone shaped swimming pools, dog beds and games for adults to play, it isn't that clean. Dogs would pee on dog beds, pee anywhere on the floor mixed in with already wet grounds, then poop right at the entrance. The humans also are not that fast at cleaning up after their dogs. They have buckets of water for the dogs, for those are clean, but they aren't dog bowls, and a chihuahua knocked a bucket down just like that. They have one play structure here, and throughout the bar except for one section is green carpet. The bar inside is also very dark and not airy. There is only one bathroom stall, very small and unisex. I'd recommend lucky dog over this place, parking can also be complicated here as well, though they have their own lot, there aren't that many spots.

I like this small dog bar. It's in a very artsy part of town. It's all fenced in and dogs can even sit on the bar. I saw that and had to go! I picked this as destination for my birthday weekend. The locals were very friendly, service was good, and drinks were flowing. They have a kissing booth and pool for the dogs. I got the best photos and had so much fun with my husband and pup for my birthday.

It was a Friday night two weeks before Christmas, but it was only 5:45pm so I feel like we got lucky. We were able to walk in and be seated right away. We ordered cocktails and embraced the tapas menu, ordering too many things to sample and share. We sadly had to leave some of it behind. Our waitress was a sweetheart and though the restaurant space was big and open, the warm wood and exposed brick inside made it feel welcoming and cozy. There was enough room between tables that we didn't feel crammed in and the table was big enough to hold all the delicious goodness. I felt like two top tables can sometimes barely hold your water glass and bread plate. We head to Charlotte pretty regularly for various things, and I would like to bring our teenage boys back sometime. I think they would really like the menu and style of the restaurant. Nice enough for a quick date night before and event, but casual enough that I feel like we could bring the teens and not have to "dress up".

I do think the interior sometimes feels a bit too "open-concept," if you know what I mean... ...but who cares?! The food is great! Of the stuff that stays on the menu, I really like: the chicken sandwich, the tandoori carrots, the mussels, and the pierogis. As for the current menu: I really like the watermelon caprese salad, scallops, and curry chicken tacos.

The tater tots and sweet potato gnocchi were absolutely incredible, and honestly, every dish we tried was memorable. The Brussels sprouts and mac and cheese are also standouts. We also shared green beans and Brussel sprouts . the green beans were charred on the outside and undercooked ok the inside. The brussel sprouts were cooked to a crisp and lacked flavor. My boyfriend had the OG chicken sandwich and he couldnt finish/ stomach it, this includes the burned fries that were served with it. The restaurant itself is nice, I don't think their AC was working but its got a cool rustic look. Our server was kind and attentive as well. The bar is divey, and you can find very cheap drinks, especially if you go for the daily specials. In addition to monthly bingo, they seem to host drag events, have video games and board games available to play, as well as several TVs. Plus, dogs can go inside and out.
