    Buffalo Chicken Wrap

Stopped by for a quick lunch and had a delightful experience. Cheese curds are a great starter and plenty of beers on tap. Lots of indoor seating with plenty of views to see the TVs. I stuck with a grilled chicken buffalo wrap and brussel sprouts for my main. Also grabbed the blueberry sour and lodge lime beers to sip on. Service was excellent.

Date night level: Crushed it. Walked into The District as first-timers for dine-in and walked out full, happy, and already plotting our return. The food? Straight-up flavor bombs--huge portions that had us doing happy dances at the table. Shoutout to our waitress, who was an absolute gem (10/10 for vibes and preference recs). The whole place has that "cool without trying too hard" energy. With the three levels, although it was busy- it never felt overpacked! Consider us fans for life. Next stop: conquering the rest of the menu.

The food here is amazing, the gyro flatbread is incredible the chicken parm and the service is prompt and friendly, Daniel and Isaiah were very courteous and mindful and made the wait seem like nothing at all. Would give it ten stars if I could.

I really wanted to like this place and unfortunately, I was disappointed. The food was mediocre, the drinks were okay, and the service was terrible. The atmosphere was enjoyable and we were excited to give it a try but left feeling underwhelmed; granted it was a busy Friday night, we may try it again on a slower night to see if it was just bad timing.

Cool ceilings, great beer selection and a fabulous menu! We had the lunch portions and it was plenty of food! Service was welcoming and friendly! The pesto bacon wrap tasted fresh and perfect pesto flavor, Brussels on the side were some of the best I've ever had and I order them everywhere! Nashville hot sandwich was spicy and good!

I recently spent the night in Eau Claire for business and was pointed towards the District by a friend. We walked in and sat right at the bar. We were instantly greeted by the bartender who asked us what we wanted to drink. I heard the spotted cow (local beer) was delicious so that's what i went with. Served in a giant glass, it did not disappoint! Light and easy to drink. Whenever i travel i try to make sure i order what's local and what do you find in Wisconsin? Some of the best cheese in the country! So naturally, we started with the spicy cheese curds. These were perfect! Crispy on the outside, gooey and cheesy on the inside. They had the perfect amount of heat! I think i could crush 2-3 baskets of these if i was hungry. Next i went with the cheese head. This was a burger, topped with lettuce, bacon, house sauce and a GIANT CHEESE CURD PATTY!!! This burger was cooked perfectly and if i wasn't so full from the curds and the beer, i would've eaten every bite! Great spot for a meal, a beer and to watch the game in Eau Claire! So naturally we started with the spicy cheese curds.

We were the first customers in the door on a Sunday, intent on finishing up the Cheese Curd Crawl that day. That said, our visit here was focused, short, and thoroughly pleasant. We had fantastic service. I ordered a Cider Boys apple cider while my husband got a beer. The half portion of gigantic cheese curds isn't photogenic, but it was delicious and it earned us another checkmark on the list. I'd be glad to come back here and have a full meal someday!

I had never been to this place before the Sunday night of mother's day. I was working late downtown, and there is literally no where open to eat and I wasn't in the mood for a sub or pizza. This place was like an oasis in the desert. We got there about 8:45 pm, full menu, kitchen open. The burger really hit the spot. I got the crazy burger with two-grilled cheese sandwiches instead of a bun. I could barely eat half. We had to go back to work for a couple of hours, so couldn't have a beer from there comprehensive tap selection or top shelf spirits. Happily, I have went back there 5 times in the last couple of weeks with different friends, usually for a beer and appetizer after work, once with a large group for a grad party. I will say the staffing seems a bit thin at times, but that's the way it is right not, but these people are friendly and really bust their butt. Our only long wait was the large group. The apps come out so fast it's amazing. The pretzel fries are delish with beer cheese dip. Man, I might head down there right now.

Easy three for me though should could be a four or more. I Loved the location. Space is really cool. Looks fun. It's just a cool spot and really should have been a better experience for me. I drove like an hour just to be here on someone's recommendation for lunch one Friday. ...but, and I don't really have any reason to complain because they spotted one of my beers for it, but my burger was super salty and over done. Wasn't a Greek tragedy but certainly disappointing. Fries are extra on an already overpriced burger; should have been excellent for the money. Wasn't.

Horribly undercooked. I understand that everyone has their preferences on pizza, but even the crust was gummy.

I am giving the benefit of the doubt because it was lunch time and it was on the busier side, however, everything started out great and slowly as the meal went on morphed into a congealed and cold mess. The French Onion soup was barely lukewarm and tasted more from a can... salty, processed. You can tell that it was sitting on the warming pad for quite some time. The vessel is cute, but seriously... a better sized portion would have been more appreciated. The Farmhouse BLT which is a BLT with an egg was okay, egg was cooked perfectly. The bread was barely toasted and had enough butter to keep a whole load moist.

Their cheese curds are a meal in themselves! Absolutely delicious and huge!

Service 5/5: we did not make a reservation, but staff did everything to accommodate us and get us seated. I really appreciate how kind they were and once we were seated, our server was attentive, making sure our drinks were always filled and that we were enjoying our meal. Ambiance 5/5: stunning environment. I highly recommend you take a peek and look at the bar because it's a bunch of little pennies and it is the coolest sight to see (I believe I heard them call it the penny bar too). I really enjoy that you could see into the kitchen while the chefs worked and how fluid they all seemed to be in their craft. Food 3/5: I was really disappointed by the food. I ordered the roasted lamb as a big fan of lamb and it was overcooked and very salty. Also, the mint gelée coupled with the root beer glacé de viande was overwhelmingly sweet. The dish was lacking a balance of acid and spice. My fiancé ordered the tater tot hot dish and I am thankful that he ordered that because we ended up sharing that the rest of the meal. Even he could not eat the Lamb and he is must less picky about flavor profiles. The hotdish was a cheesy parmesan dream with sweet corn, peas, mushrooms and I liked the textural mixture of pork and veal. Overall, I'm not sure if I would come back for a meal here. I have seen that their pizzas are really popular because they are woodfired and I wish we would've checked that first, but I wanted a cozy elevated dinner and I'm still really bummed that we did not get that.

It happened to be a very busy weekend, and the Informalist was one of the few places that did not have a long line to get seated. Got in right away and seated for some brunch. The restaurant is spacious and well designed. It's a bit upscale, but perfectly capable of making people feel relaxed and welcome. We got greeted right away by the server and settled in with menus and waters. Our order wasn't complicated: some of the Custard Battered French Toast, a short stack of pancakes, and two eggs. I also ordered a London Fog Tea Latte (a little lavender, a little vanilla, and extra foam). It didn't take long for the food to come, but the London Fog took a while longer. The French Toast was amazingly good, and the pancakes and eggs were also very good. I was half done with my meal by the time my London Fog arrived, and the server was very apologetic (saying that the coffee shop was very busy). I might have been satisfied with that, but the London Fog was just okay. While there was some extra foam, the drink itself was flat, as if they just heated up the milk and mixed it with the tea. (They need to do a better job with polishing the steamed milk so that it creates a creamy texture, especially if they ar charging $8) Overall, a good experience, and a few tweaks would have made it excellent. Would stop again if I was in the mood for the French Toast.

Luckily we beat the crowd and I was able to snag the last piece of quiche. Lots of groups gather here. I got a coffee that I think was local. There were 3 servers ours was younger and newer, Alyssa. Review Visit: November 14th, 2024…read more Maybe not THAT grand... The short trip to Eau Claire was coming to a close and I needed some food before I hit the road home. Around the corner from where Tim lives is a cafe he's been to a few times. We took the short stroll there to get some breakfast and coffee in us. We popped in after the major breakfast crowd and before the lunch crowd made the small cafe packed. We took a seat towards the front by the window so we could get some natural light to go with our meal. Our waitress was a hoot. She was professional but really chatty and we all quickly got on the topic of horror movies, spooky things, and the love for reading. I got the house coffee with a biscotti stick to go with it. Tim got a latte thing. The waitress forgot my biscotti but quickly brought it over when I asked her about it. As for our meal, I ordered just the french toast and Tim got a full course meal. I wanted to eat somewhat light as I had the long drive but... when I say I got french toast... it was the most basic two slices of french toast I've ever had. It ended up tasting decent but for $8.49, it just felt like it needed to some with a side of protein or eggs or something. Tim said his The Grand Gatsby and Bread Pudding was good, even if he doesn't care for Mango, which is what his Bread Pudding flavor was. The biscotti was really good, even better dipped in the coffee. The coffee itself was your typical drip coffee that you'd find across the country. Not great but not bad. It served it purpose. While it was a bit of a letdown that my last meal before heading home was less than stellar but the memories made at the cafe (and the whole trip) are one you can't put a rating on. With that in mind, if we visit here again in 2025, I will definitely get a more substantial meal than two meager slices of french toast.
