While on vacation, my wife selected River Jams as a place to have lunch. It is pretty hard to beat the views and atmosphere while having a local beer (Spotted Cow) while eating outside looking at the Chippewa River. Along with our son, we had the BLT, Cod Sandwich, and the Green Olive and Swiss double smash burger. This could well be the best burger I have had as it was not only juicy, but bursting with flavor. The green olive really adds a lot. Our waitress, Annika, was very nice. I recommend coming here. read more

Found this place with the help of Yelp. A little out of the way but totally worth it. A friendly server greeted us on entry, answering our questions and helping us with a great meal. Savannah was awesome and very informative. We both got tacos because it was taco Tuesday. They were awesome. They had a great tap and bourbon selection. Nice views and great vibes. We were tired and stopped here midpoint from driving from Voyageurs National Park to Chicago. We just wanted to grab a bite and go to bite to eat and go to bed. We thought this was going to be bar food and when we arrived got the impression of a bikers' and boaters' party place. Wow, we were so wrong. Inside it was simple and nice, open, and lots of natural light. The music was soft and the drinks were fantastic. It was fish fry Friday and, to our surprise, they offered grilled options. We shared the grilled walleye and the grilled shrimp. Cook to perfection and very tasty. The Blackberry Old Fashion was really good. Service was excellent, both of our servers were attentive, helpful, and pleasant. We scored!! read more

Staying at hotel locally. What a great find for late lunch, early dinner. Signature drinks were great and several nice ones to choose from. We had fish tacos and Nashville chicken. It wasn't too hot, but had some nice heat. The staff was really helpful and made great drinks. If you're looking for a nice location along the river with great food/drinks/ activities, this just may be it. read more

Stopped in for a bite for lunch. Had higher expectations based on reviews.... Was a little disappointed with price for what you get. Ordered a $14 shrimp salad with 3 pieces of shrimp on it. We have been to River Jams for wonderful craft cocktails but this was our first time to also have a meal. Went on a Friday night and knew they only have fish and shrimp but that is what we were craving anyway. Also had cocktails-The White Pumpkin martini, Hot Caramel apple cider and Whiskey River Old Fashioned. They were all wonderful! For the meal, I had grilled shrimp, garlic smashed baby reds and coleslaw. Super tasty, flavorful shrimp and potatoes served nice and hot. Companions had 2 piece cod dinner-fried with fries and Perch-fried with baked potato. Everything was delicious and we all left satisfied. Seated right by window looking out at beautiful river. They were busy-Folks love Friday fish-so we had to wait a while for our meals. But that is to be expected and friendly capable server Rebekah kept the drinks (and water!) coming. Chef came around and asked if we enjoyed the meals-while also collecting our plates. A very positive experience overall. We will be back and hope to explore other food menu items-along with the fabulous craft cocktails that change over time. read more

Nicely renovated space. Simple elegance. Great wood floors. Nice cocktail selection and great tap beer. Menu is currently limited to bruschetta board, waygu sliders, ahi poke, and fish taco. I had the weekend special shrimp PoBoy. It was delicious. So was the maple syrup bourbon old Fashy. It was dark when I was there but I'm sure the reviews are fantastic. Terrible, I stopped in tonight while traveling for work, and the environment was very dull. There was hardly anyone there eating. I asked to order the potato soup and the server went back to Kitchen and she said they didn't have that, so she offered me tomato soup. REALLY?? I then asked how their wings were and she said they were great, so I said OK I'll have the Thai chili traditional wings and she came back from the kitchen and said they didn't have that either. So the only option I had left was just to get up and walk out and I was very hungry and disgruntled!!!! I'll never stop back in that place again!!! Their ratings are way off, maybe it was people just rating this DUMP after they were DRUNK after drinking!!! read more

This is a nicely appointed shack-turned-gourmet restaurant bar tucked away on the end of a quiet road along the Chippewa River. The staff were all super friendly. I only ordered the Ahi Poke app, as they still have a limited menu. But, the fish was very smooth on the bite. And the chef clearly knows how to balance out sweetness and fat. Wow! Came here to visit from Santa Monica, CA and this place was outstanding. Came to visit my partners family for the holidays and we decided to stop in with his siblings for dinner Monday evening, 7pm. The venue had plenty of seating, very clean, and two female bartenders/servers who were really sweet and had excellent Customer Service. We got the Monday $20 special (3 bruschetta's (margarita, salami and prosciutto and a bottle of wine). Which was an outstanding price and idea. Majority of the items on the menu are so inexpensive and you get a large amount of food for the quality of its price. We also ordered a couple of martini's (smo're and a peppermint bark martini) which were delicious! I'd highly recommend this place. My ONLY suggestion is - the margarita bruschetta should be large slices of tomatoes, mozzarella and basil instead of grape tomatoes and pieces of mozzarella because they easily fall off the bruschetta) def will have to come back if we make it back to the Midwest! read more

An old tavern on the river has been renovated and is clean and cozy. The smash burger was one of the best burgers I've had. The sauce was so tasty. Cute place on the river in the middle of a residential area. Drinks were interesting and delicious, Thyme Martini, herbal and delicious. Not super hungry so we got BLTs. The bruscetta boards are discontinued, which was disappointing. The wagyu sliders were ok. Loaded with aioli so a little greasier than they needed to be. The house-specialty cocktails were excellent (I only had 1, but saw multiple made that appeared to be just as good as the one I had.)
