This place is absolutely wonderful. Christine that runs this well organized dog salon. Where there dog stylist are on point. Even though our Aussie's aren't regularly groomed here. She rememberers our dogs . My parents had a Maltese and even though it's been years since he passed . She "Christine " - makes that connection to us. I've been coming here for at least a year now and I'm really happy with their service. I had gone to two previous groomers and ended on a bad experience with the last one. I found this place through Yelp actually, and I loved the name! Everyone there is always sweet with my dog Sequoia, and they make me feel like they love her as much as I do. She used to shake from head to toe when she went to the groomer. Now she's still reluctant but none of that fear from before. She's a mini Australian Shepherd that weighs 40 lbs. I always get the mini-groom because I don't like to cut her long hair, but it does include a paw and sanitary trim which is necessary. I drop her off in the morning around 10am, and they're not super intense about being a little early or late which is really appreciated. They usually keep her for most of the day, which I also don't mind because I don't have to stay in the area waiting. I feel they do a better job when they take their time. She always comes home smelling so good, looking fluffy as ever, and with the cutest little butt and paw trim. They also always give her a cute bandana, and I've kept them for holidays and photo shoots! I've never had any issues with her still having knots, or not looking her best. They even asked if she had any allergies before giving her a treat, which was much appreciated because she's allergic to poultry and it's in almost every dog treat! Their shop also has some dog food and treats for sale. I recommend making your appointment early because they are very popular and tend to book out! read more

I really wanted to love this groomer, but they shaved my Goldendoodle twice that she looked like a rat. The first time I let her hair grow too long as she was a puppy and they shaved her. Not sure why they had to shave her to the bone though. They recommended I bring her in for mini-grooms in between cuts which I did twice which isnt cheap. Then then I brought her in for a cut, I spoke to the groomer for 5 minutes giving very detailed instructions about how I like it longer and NOT shaved. My 1 year old dog had two small knots and we agreed that this would be manageable and would not be shaved. I pick her up and she was SHAVED once again. I was shocked and not happy! I have owned poodles for 45 years in Maitland and never had a dog shaved like this. My doodle has poodle like fur and is more curly than wavy as she is 75% poodle and 25% Golden Retriever. I called and left a message for the owner. She called me back and told her the story about the major miscommunication. I said, someone should have called me to tell me that you were going to shave her. They said my dog didnt care for the detangling and so they shaved her. She had 2 small knots. I know, as I brushed her that morning. I could have got them out and I have no experience. Really disappointed as they are very nice and spend time with you before taking your pet. But just don't trust that they listen after this experience. They lost my business for poor decision making, not listening and lack of communication. read more

This place is amazing I have a 120lb black lab (aka all muscle and he is a big baby) he is not a fan of getting his nails and paws trimmed. He did not want to go all the way to the back so they came to him. They laid on the ground with him and comfort him while cutting his nails. Really pleased with our first trip to The Dirty Dog! I have been trying several places in the Casselberry/Altamonte area seeking a groomer that we could make "our" groomer, and I definitely feel like we've found that in the Dirty Dog. My Havanese is my baby and I am particular about his grooming, as I had to shave him down when we rescued him and have been trying hard to grow out his coat since then. It's like growing out your hair--you've got to keep it healthy, and you want it to look good, but you don't want to lose the length! I called ahead and was told to go ahead and bring him in by a friendly lady who was the same to greet us when we arrived. Christine and the girls in the back made a big production when they met my boy and how sweet he was and it was his first time etc. Very lovely people. Christine listened intently to what I was looking for very specifically, reccommended a mini groom as opposed to a full groom, saving me money, and made sure I checked in on Yelp and got my free tooth brushing for him, too. About four hours later I went and picked up my Havanese. It was clear that my wants had not only been communicated to the groomer in the back, but that had she honored my requests completely, which is the real awesome part. They already had my little guy's picture snapped, and he had a Valentine's Day bandana and smelled fresh and looked really good. I was told about a couple mats they'd gotten out plus some mistakes the previous groomer had made a month before which they'd corrected. I definitely felt communicated with! Christine also sent us home with a sample of a grain free food they sell there, and while a full sized bag is probably our of our price range, I will tell you my boy wolfed it down and went for seconds when we got home, and he is normally a particular eater! I will say that the downsides are they are closed Sundays and Mondays which I will probably forget and try to bring him by for a groom on a day they're closed... And the website mentioned being cage free, when there are clearly cages visible in the back. They're generously sized and quite clean, and my boy doesn't mind chilling in a cage, but I know this might be important to some people in choosing a groomer so I feel it's worth a mention. All in all a great experience and we will be back! I hope that they can keep up the personal connection and communication as they get busier and more popular because I bet they will be building up a good word of mouth reputation soon. read more

Took my Yorkie for a mini groom, they did not even clip hair to keep out of her eyes. Her face is the same with eyebrow hair going into her eyes. They took $40 to give her a bath, trim nails and ears!!!! They say they do not trim Torso that's a full groom so that's fine, my Yorkie had a full groom already at Pet supermarket three weeks ago so that's not a problem, problem was even after I told them they kept insisting that's a mini groom although they said they never touched her face, umm ?? They are supposed to trim the face. I even had told her please don't make her look like a rat, make her a Yorkie face. They never touched it AT ALL!!! Will never go back. They came highly recommended, what a disappointment! Arguing with client rather than 'making it right' is not the way to keep customers coming back. She could have had the groomer take care of her eyebrows so they wouldn't go into her eyes Now they are writing a reply in Google back to me stating they reached out to me etc etc to help with the issue, ALL LIES, I was there in their salon and they did nothing so after posting an honest review of what happened, they are trying to put the blame on me. They took my money and did not even touch my Yorkie's face, her hair was falling into her eyes when I took her but on picking up my baby, she was the same, they just gave her a bath and trimmed her nails and I told them that she is the same and her hair is in her eyes and the lady said 'oh we never touched her face' Oh Really???? What was the mini groom for, states they do the face. Here is the Mini Groom explanation from their website. "Mini Groom A Mini Groom consists of a bath using Mauro shampoo through our specialized Bathing System, anal gland expression (upon request), air dry, ear cleaning, nail clipping and dremeling. A Mini Groom includes a sanitary clip, shaving the paw pads and haircut around the face. No groom would be complete without a bandana or collar cover." So you tell me, wouldn't it have been awesome if they admitted their mistake and took her and trimmed her face? Poor baby couldn't see, whole reason why I got her in for a mini trim. They lost my business but also all my friends who saw my furbaby. Do you think that NOW I would bring my fur baby to you, when I was there you didn't help at all and were rude. I don't trust you. WORST EVER!!! I can not believe this! My dog was dropped off at 10:30 in the morning. I called at 1:30 pm and was told that he was not done yet, I called at 3:00 pm and was still told that he still was not ready. I waited another hour and called 4 pm and I was told that he was "on the table" now. REALLY?? I called again at 5:15 and asked if he was ready and the boy on the line said yes he was and I could come and get him. When I got there at 5:30 everyone was gone but the boy and I was told that it would be $50. bucks. all they did was shampoo and shave him. He is a little terrier mix. The last time I went it was just $40. So I guess the price goes up the longer they keep your pet. I will NEVER go there again. 7 hours for a dog who is not used to be kept caged is an EXCESSIVE amount of time to be kept in a groomer's shop. DO NOT GO if you want them to keep your pet caged for an overly amount of time. read more

I am feeling very lucky to have found The Dirty Dog. The staff is friendly and make good suggestions for your dog. They groomed my cocker spaniel and they did a wonderful job. My dog was overgrown and had paws full of hair. So, I know it was a big job. Not only did she look fantastic, smell good and seemed to feel better, but the price was so low that I asked him to repeat himself. They only charged me $55.00 for everything! I couldn't believe it! Petsmart wanted to charge me $85.00 for the same service, but they had an up charge for some things that The Dirty Dog included in the price. Not only was I happy with the grooming, but I also felt like I got a good deal. I think I found a new groomer. read more

The dirty dog is a great place to get your dog grooming needs met. The staff is the friendliest staff I have ever encountered at a pet grooming facility. They are extremely clean, which I love because I'm actually allergic to dogs, go figure. Their prices are extremely reasonable as well. I paid $28 for a bath a nail trimming and an air cleaning. They also asked a lot of questions about my dog and gave us some specialty services that would be good for her. For example, she tends to bite the hair between her pads and they made it a point to really go in there and get the hair out. They didn't charge us extra for that they just went ahead and did it. They also asked us about her dietary restrictions and when we told them that she was allergic to grain they refrained from giving her any treats. Overall, as you can see they are extremely sensitive to your dogs needs and really try to provide a customized experience for your dog. I have never seen my dog come out of the groomers happy and Peanut was smiling away when I picked her up. Unfortunately, we don't live in Orlando but visit often so when we are in town we will definitely get our little peanut groomed here. read more
