Slowly collecting all The Diners. On this occasion I had a Californian burger (with avocado) with extra bacon (cause bacon) which was superb. Tried the Sweet Potato Poutin to start as I was sharing with a friend, which was nice but not enough cheese. Good service though slow for food to arrive. Wait staff were lovely

It ain't the Ritz but good lord is this a god-send after a hangover. Also for my Americans - it has real honey mustard if you're missing home. Usually I get the breakfast burrito and add extra spice (hooray they have hot sauce!). Get a side of tator tots as well if you need something greasy. They also do full English and American breakfasts (with fluffy pancakes if desired) and lots of regular late night options. YUM.

It was just after noon and my colleague suggested getting some food. He has issues with gluten so it's always fun trying to find something he can eat that won't make him swell up. We also failed to agree on what meal it was, he was adamant it was still appropriate to eat breakfast, whereas I think 12ish is definitely lunch time! I jumped on Yelp! to see where we could order an all day breakfast and a burger and found The Diner! We sat in a booth and ordered some drinks. I made the tragic mistake of thinking a milkshake would be a good choice. After having an amazing Oreo shake at Byron, I ordered one from here expecting the same creamy goodness. It was super thick and possibly the sweetest, most sickly thing I've ever 'drank'. It also had a huge dollop of toffee/caramel sludge in it which kept clogging up my straw! The worst thing about the milkshake though was that it totally ruined my appetite. My burger with pulled pork and bbq sauce was unfinishable. It wasn't a brilliant burger either, the patty was all beef-no seasoning, and the bun was a soggy mess. I also ordered a side order of sweet potato fries, which were good, if a little salty, and would have been great to dunk in my milkshake if it arrived at the same time. (If you don't dunk fries in your shake, you're doing it wrong!) I'd probably go back again, but not in a hurry.

The Diner varies in quality, but the Camden branch is my fave. The shakes are second only to Byron. Yet the Diner makes up for that with the selection far outmatching. Their Pistachio shake for instance is just pure bliss. The food varies, but one thing you can sure of is that the diner will continually renovate it's menu to clear out things that don't work and introduce things that will ignite the food world. The DCB I had recently is one of those things. It stands for Diner Chicken Burger and it's a moist piece of buttermilk fried chicken topped with bacon, blue cheese, coleslaw and pickles. It's a masterpiece. Surely, if they can re-create more burgers touching this epicness they will have me as a customer after many more gigs in Camden Town.

We came here several times for breakfast and enjoyed the food, the environment, the music. They were also very kid friendly (we have a two year old toddler). We would go back again.

The Diner is an OK attempt at the American diner but in a more clean cut, chain restaurant looking way. It doesn't have the charm and style of the typical diner that I really love. The food is nothing to shout about but the prices are quite reasonable. I don't think I would go back here though as I know a great diner close to where I live. I'd rather just find some tasty, filling and cheap food from The Stables Market round the corner than wait for 30 minutes for my food order. At least in the market you get service with a smile!

OK, you get it - it's meant to look American, but we all know the truth... a bit naff and themey. That said, the reason I love this place is that not many people seem to know about the roof terrace. I've probably just ruined that, right? Downstairs is boring for those that have actually eaten in a diner in America, but come last weekend when the sun finally showed itself, a fab place to dig in for the afternoon. We had a sun-trap table in the corner and, yes, the service could be faster but was very pleasant. Dishes range from £6 - £10 ish for budgers, burritos, huevos rancheros, omelettes and pancakes etc. Go for the lumberjack breakfast - not often, mind. Your arteries might kill you in rebellion. Speaking of rebellion, watch the obligatory service charge too. And don't tell anyone American about the price. My ex laughed his socks off when I said I'd been drinking Lone Star at £3.30 by the bottle when his Texas local charges $4.00 a jug!!!!

Tasty American style food, with a twist! Burgers are spot on and fries, well you will be served with a lot but it's good to share. The starts we had chicken wings and that wasn't too bad. My friends and I had sweet potato chips and normal regular fries. Pancake small stack was a lot but was really light and fluffy. Good day/night out with friends, causal scene, with banging old Skool hip-hop jams in the background. I would score this restaurant 7 out of 10.

It was a raal treat to have this on the pancake day and staff was also in very cheery and excited mood which added to the experience of joyfulness.

Only negative side was that they switched the doneness of the meat of my friend and I (on two different burgers...) and that they were both overly cooked in general (a medium which was by far well-done and a medium-rare cooked medium). I would give 3.5 stars.

In an attempt not to scare people off from trying this place out, I'm going to go ahead and say 4 stars for now...and here is why..... My work colleagues and I headed over to BOBO Social during it's first lunch seating. Advertising its small plates and innovative burgers, there is also a special to have a takeaway burger and fries for a 10-er, attracting some of the media types in the area who may not be able to break away from their desk and have a sit down lunch. Food: As I wasn't in much of a burger mood, I shared a bunch of small plates with one of my colleagues. These are definitely small plates and probably my biggest disappointment with the meal. Though the servers encourage you to have about 3 plates per person - I would recommend having more than that - though at 8 quid a pop for some of the smaller plates, this may be pushing it for a lunchtime meal. Other spots in the neighborhood with a similar small plate menu leave you feeling much more full at the end of the meal. The food itself was quite good: The steak strips, watermelon, tomato and feta, & Crispy squid among my favourites. I'll definitely look to go back to at least try one of their signature burgers - the peanut butter burger with bacon sounds like it could be a delight. Venue: This is probably the best part of the spot. There is an upstairs with good lighting and a small seating area and also a downstairs to the venue. The downstairs can be rented out for events, private larger bookings or parties, and as an intimate feel with little cave-like seating areas in the back and private bar. I'd definitely encourage a try and to provide the helpful staff with feedback on the meal as they get up and running. This could potentially be a great addition to the Charlotte Street restaurant scene.

The burger: - I tried the cheeseburger, with blue cheese (I love that you can choose which cheese you'd like!)...and it was looovely. The rest: - This branch has one complete wall of windows and is painted with yellow and white stripes...the effect is very cheerful and bright, especially on sunny days like today. - I loved that they have model cows sort-of-hidden among the light fittings and on the top of mirrors. - The staff were friendly, but also speedy and efficient...perfect for lunch time eating. This was one hell of a big feast, there's no need for any side dishes if you have the Ronaldo. The burger comprised of two patties, American cheese, bacon, butter fried onions and crispy onions, all served in one of their brioche buns. The meat was good quality and perfectly cooked to medium; nice and pink in the middle. The toppings were generous and perfectly arranged. For a stateside equivalent, I saw Ultimate as a Red Robin, and while Red Robin makes some great burgers, I'd much prefer a local place. Off the bat it was a mixed bag. While the selection was impressive in terms of breadth and uniqueness and the prices reasonable, service was quite slow even though it wasn't overly crowded. However, when the food arrived all notions of a negative review went right out the window. Primarily, my Smokey Mountain Barbeque Burger was absolutely massive, and I soon realized (as had those around me) that at Ultimate Burger a fork and knife are key. The ingredients used appeared as though they were quite fresh and the burger was cooked just right. One thing I will say is that the burger itself wasn't overly flavourful, but the various compliments made it enjoyable. Additionally, while only a coin over a pound each, my sides of chips and chili con carne were a bit on the mediocre end of the scale. All in all, I stepped out of Ultimate Burger having eaten an absolutely massive burger, two sides, and 500ml of bottled water for under £15, and while it doesn't come close to South Kensington's Byron, who still wear the crown of Best Burger in London, Ultimate was a good experience. So if you're in the area and absolutely must have a burger, Ultimate Burger is a great value and a good experience.
