Nice restaurant with an interesting menu and friendly staff, prices are OK-ish. I had a Peanut Butter Burger which seemed crazy but perfectly worked. Only negative side was that they switched the doneness of the meat of my friend and I (on two different burgers...) and that they were both overly cooked in general (a medium which was by far well-done and a medium-rare cooked medium). As the first person to review BOBO social, I'll admit that I would in most cases give a three star rating, but mainly because I think there is definitely potential and really good food. In an attempt not to scare people off from trying this place out, I'm going to go ahead and say 4 stars for now...and here is why..... My work colleagues and I headed over to BOBO Social during it's first lunch seating. Advertising its small plates and innovative burgers, there is also a special to have a takeaway burger and fries for a 10-er, attracting some of the media types in the area who may not be able to break away from their desk and have a sit down lunch. Food: As I wasn't in much of a burger mood, I shared a bunch of small plates with one of my colleagues. These are definitely small plates and probably my biggest disappointment with the meal. Though the servers encourage you to have about 3 plates per person - I would recommend having more than that - though at 8 quid a pop for some of the smaller plates, this may be pushing it for a lunchtime meal. Other spots in the neighborhood with a similar small plate menu leave you feeling much more full at the end of the meal. The food itself was quite good: The steak strips, watermelon, tomato and feta, & Crispy squid among my favourites. I'll definitely look to go back to at least try one of their signature burgers - the peanut butter burger with bacon sounds like it could be a delight. Venue: This is probably the best part of the spot. There is an upstairs with good lighting and a small seating area and also a downstairs to the venue. The downstairs can be rented out for events, private larger bookings or parties, and as an intimate feel with little cave-like seating areas in the back and private bar. I'd definitely encourage a try and to provide the helpful staff with feedback on the meal as they get up and running. The BOBO Social is a burger place at the north end of Charlotte street. Charlotte street is packed with food offerings - both cheap and pricey - lined with everything from expensive Roka sushi and Gaucho steaks to Icco pizza for under a fiver. Charlotte street's got everything, which makes it hard to stand out from the crowd. BOBO Social is tucked into a small terrace house conversion on the north end of the restaurant row. Inside, they go for a rustic country dining feel with four-legged solid wood tables and unfinished wood floors. Padded country chairs match the light colours of the interior. Food is served on old-timey china, very hipster. Their burgers are made with rare-breed beef from farms in Yorkshire, Essex and Kent; varying from Dexter, Longhorn and Red Lincoln. BOBO is supplied by Flock & Herd, one of London's top premium butchers - think Ginger Pig for Honest/Hawksmoor. The burgers are cooked in a Kopa Charcoal Oven which would run you around £13,000 if you fancy one for your home! The meat is seared quickly at temperatures of 300°C, locking in all that juicy goodness. Every Monday, BOBO's head chef hosts an experimental burger night using exotic meats such as Kangaroo, Alligator, Venison, Ostrich and of course COW. But it's the regular beef that I tried and I was impressed. They range from the starter Bobo at £8.95 on up to the Debauchery for a cool £20. The bare bones Bobo gets you a 6 oz. patty Lettuce, Tomatoes, Charcoal-Roasted Red Onions, BOBO Sauce on a brioche bun with a 'B' branded into the top. The Debauchery is 6 ounces of Wagyu Beef & Rare-Breed Beef, Ogleshield Cheese, Confit Shitaki Mushrooms & Onions, Bacon Mayo, Shaved Truffles; so it's basically the Ferarri of burgers. The inbetweeners include the "Peanut Butter" for £11.95 with a 6oz patty, Peanut Butter, Monterey Jack, Maple Cured Bacon as well as the "Capsicum" with British Chorizo, Manchego Cheese, Tomato & Chilli Salsa, Fresh Chillies, and Jalapeño Mayo for £12.95. I'm not a fan of burgers. I don't hate them either. Let's say I'm neutral when it comes to burger. I fancy one sometimes but I never tasted one that got me to say "it was the best meal ever". Nonetheless Bobo burger do good burger. Good tasty meat, nice soft bun and a selection of garnish to please everyone (guacamole, cheddar, truffle... You choose it) They also offer unusual meat. Yesterday was Zebra, but the menu was changing to kangooroo next. I liked the sides, that were different from your chunky chips: fried pickles and chili, sweet potato chips with truffle salt, bacon dipped in chocolate... Like I said I'm useless when it comes to burger but everyone at my table said how good they were (lots of "yummy" and "delish") The place itself is quite nice, wooden bench and grandma plates/teacup. The place is very Instagram friendly. Pricewise I found it a bit expensive. They do a good lunch deal: £10 for a burger and a side but The same food cost an extra £5-6 if you come at dinner. Last thing that disappointed me a bit, they didn't asked us how we'd like our meat cooked. We came on a Monday at 6pm during their 1st birthday celebrations so their bobo burgers were on a deal at only £1. We both ordered their bobo classic but added a few extras and it was the nicest juiciest burger but not at all greasy! I would give this place 3.5 s but yelp doesn't allow that. I was so excited to try this place out when I read "high end Burger". Thoughts? Good but slightly less than what I expected. Starring with the restaurant, it was always very busy. The restaurant has two stories but not that many tables and is quite crowded and noisy. Having said that, it has a nice peaceful feel to it. I liked how they designed the toilets (Kath kidson style) and have spot lights by the stairs. The staff- they ere all very friendly and, good looking as my boyfriend said "this is the Burger version of abrocrombie". Although this place is busy, you don't have to worried about not being served, because there are plenty of staff. Onto the food, my favourite was the lobster and crab Burger. It was full of flavour, and most importantly, not greasy. We also ordered the Capsicum, which was a beef Burger with chorizo spices. Both were good, but the beef Burger was nothing special. We also ordered some small plates- the fried squid and beef strips. To me they were a rip off. Plates were literally small and it didn't taste anything special. On the sides, we ordered sweet potato chips which were lovely, beef strips which were just chips, and chocolate Bacon, which is like marmite- u either love it or hate it. To me, it tasted pretty ...weird. the bill came to £70 which i thought was very expensive. I can eat Michelin food with this Money. However, if I do come next time, I would know what to order, and it probably wont be as expensive. You should definitely try this place as they offer some things that other Burger restaurants don't. read more

Amazing food... can't believe I've never had a peanut butter burger before! This place was a great mix of great quality food and drink with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. We were a group of 6, arriving at different times and chatting instead of reading the menu. When we finally started ordering starters (almost at random) and then asking for advice on the burger menu, the waitress was friendly and helpful and thankfully wasn't annoyed with us! Will definitely be back and can't speak highly enough of this great little hidden gem. read more

What a great experience. Everyone should give it a go. Head down to The Experimental Burger Society running weekly at chic burger joint, BoBo Social. The staff are exceptional, especially with a very skilled bar manager serving perfect cocktails. The class begins with the history of burgers, then it's followed up with a tasting session, ostrich, crocodile and beef. You're then left to your own devices, creating a perfect patty and competing to win your burger a spot on the menu for the week. It really is great fun and the burgers, sides and organic beer make for a delightful Saturday afternoon. read more

BOBO Social is another seemingly random cute little restaurant near Goodge Street station. The atmosphere is quaint (although the tables have really fat legs that cut into your thighs a bit) and the service is pretty friendly. I will say, they've got one of the cutest ladies' loos ever. I love a burger. Sadly, due to some pregnancy related dietary restrictions, I have to watch the carbs. So bunless burgers are kinda my game at the moment. I ordered the experimental burger which for the moment was basically beefalope with guac and cheese. To make up for my lack of a bun, I had to add a fried egg and bacon, because of course you do. Really loved the flavor of the patty, and mine was closer to medium well in temperature, which is fine for me at the moment. Wish the egg had been a bit runnier, but it was still good. And the guac was some of the best I've had at a restaurant in London. For sides, we basically tried them all except for one: apple slaw, sweet potato fries, beef dripping chips, and the bacon chili chocolate fondue. I loved all the sides. The beef dripping chips are definitely the standout. The sweet potato fries are proper sweet potato pieces, not dipped in anything to give a false crunch, which I really appreciated. And the apple slaw was tasty too. I'm glad I tried BOBO Social, and I think it's worth a go, but with all the burger joints in London these days, I don't see it as my tried and true repeat visit spot. read more

As we received the check, they gave us a mini journal to write comments about the place. Saw some interesting comments such as "This place was [expletive] awesome!". It started out well, a very quaint and rather farmhousey decorated place. It looks very pretty from the outside, and we're ushered quickly through the main corridor to the entrance and downstairs to our table. Hungry for a burger of epic proportions, I was hoping to sink my teeth into a really gourmet burger, with premium everything. Heck, if I'm forking out £11-12 for a burger, it better give me more of a more-ish-gasm than something I can get elsewhere around Soho. I ordered a burger that sounded somewhat "exprimental" with peanut butter and bacon. To be fair, Kings Hardware in Seattle used to do a burger with peanut butter in it as well, but I don't remember a darn thing about it. We also order sides at £3.50 a pop, and get the sweet potato fries and an apple slaw. The portion sizes for sides were miniscule, especially for how much you're paying. But they're REALLY good. The apple slaw was tangy and made my mouth tingle, whereas the sweet potato fries certainly made me salivate more with every bite. The burgers were good, but not great. They felt somewhat gimmicky in feel, rather than posh. I've been to Bar Boloud and now that's posh for even less. All in all, a good experience, but nothing to write home to momma about. We'd booked ahead, which I learned is pretty much a necessity due to the minuscule size of the restaurant. For the price, and the styling, etc. I expected more. My burger was good, but nothing revolutionary. My experience was a bit marred by not being able to sit comfortably as the chairs barely fit under the table without a person in them, let alone once someone sat down. So 6 of us were all slightly wonkily sat around the table that wouldn't contain our legs! While I didn't have them, a few others raved about the fried pickles with peppers. Burgers. I heart burgers. So Bobo Social had been on my 'must eat at' list for months after spotting a review in Stylist magazine about a year ago. Fast forward to Yelps Mad Scientist Soirée and Bobo Social are there giving out lavender infused gin and waving a menu around. I made myself a promise there and then to get my butt to that restaurant the next time I ate out. I kept to my promise and was so happy I did. Think cute but modern, expensive looking but understated, country cottage style interior. Kitsch and quirky whilst also homely and beautiful. Sitting down to eat is like sitting in a beautiful house with a few unknown guests nearby. I'd love for my house to look like this place, even the decor of the bathrooms was cute and pretty... Think bird and floral prints. A lovely candle lit setting and nice atmosphere, check. So far, so good. The cocktail menu, spot on. The food menu, perfectly simple for burger lovers. The food arrived quick enough, but with time to know that it'd been freshly made. If you're like me you'll be delighted by the quirky mix and match crockery... and chips arriving in a teacup! The burgers were delicious, and the burger buns were stamped with Bobo on them, love it. I'd recommend trying the chip pickles if you're a gerkin fan like me. We really enjoyed our meals, though the burgers were slightly on the small side. Heading there for a date or a girls/guys catch up? Expect to pay around £22ish for a cocktail, burger and side each. I visited Bobo social for a burger dinner with the friend. It was early Friday night and we were the only one across the whole restaurant which was quite awkward. I tried their classic Bobo burger and my friend the one with the mushroom. Both were dry, tiny and of basic quality. The same also applies for the fries. On top of that, I wouldn't say that this is a cheap place or the prices correspond to the quality provided. I wouldn't visit again. read more

There was so much hype about this place, disappointed yet again. We took normal burger and wagyu beef burger. OK OK Wagyu beef burger was fantastic, just pure pleasure. But normal burger was worse than the one you get in Mac donalds. And this is bad because the price of the normal burger is the same as anywhere else you go to get a burger. How is that fair, to experience good quality and mouth watering food they require customers to spend £20 on wagyu beef? Isn't the point of good burger joint is to build up the taste, like you have GOOD burger and then SUPER good burger. Not SUPER bad burger and then GOOD burger. Went here on Weds (it's been a busy week!) and it was good. I think it's one of the cool new places to go and I didn't really see why but the bobo burger was great and so were the chips and wine! As a food and restaurant consultant and former reviewer on ABC I get leads on all kinds of restaurants around the world. The one thing that caught my attention with BOBO Social was their customer suggestions for new burger ideas. I sought them out when I was in London last week and the Roo Burger (kangaroo--those cute little , jumping guys with the pouches and minced into burger meat). No, I didn't order the Roo, but ordered just about everything else on the menu. I had our whole side of the English clan with me and it was a sampling feast after a stop at the British Museum. I am giving this a rating of 5-stars because... well I'm not sure it was because the food was so great (it was) or the company was terrific (it was, too) or because the owner was just so great to provide a wonderful experience. Mike Benson was kind of enough to give me the nickel tour of the tiny kitchen (the 25 cent tour would have taken me to the restaurant next door) and made sure all of us left his restaurant fat and happy. I ordered the Peanut Butter Burger. Don't go ECK! And, don't knock until you've tried it. Others ordered the Italian-style burger and the chile pepper burger. Every dessert was served in a mason jar and I claimed them all to be outstanding. The only thing that fell flat was the Chocolate Bacon Fondue. The bacon was served cold and the chocolate sauce was gloppy (technical description from a food consultant).
