Review #925 Posted on 9.10.25 We came here for drinks after dinner on Saturday the 30th while in The City. It's pretty close to Little Italy area in in my opinion a nice part of the city. The inside is way bigger than it looks before you walk in, plenty of places to sit. They had a DJ there, you grab your drinks from the bar, then go grab a seat and hang. The prices were fair, bartenders nice people. I'd comeback again for sure to hang out for a few drinks after dinner.

First time here, visiting from Sacramento with friends. The bartender Hannah was AWESOME, loved talking cocktails and horror movies with her. Will 1000% come back here next time we visit. Love the vibe.

We were actually trying to visit a bar across the street but they were closed for a private event. Locals directed across the street to Devil's Acre. We arrived to a mostly empty bar and were able to secure seats at the bar. We always prefer the bar as we can converse with the mixologists. From their home page: "Step inside to sample a time when the difference between a saloon keeper and pharmacist wasn't much, and both were prone to prescribing a variety of alcohol based mixtures that were supposed to "cure what ails you." I can testify that yes indeed a few of their craft cocktails will either cure what ails you, place you in a great mood, or both. These are true craft cocktails so be patient and some will arrive with picture ready garnishes. I stuck with a few bourbon based cocktails and Plus1 opted for their version of a margarita. I did not realize that there is a speakeasy type bar downstairs, next time for sure. Definately haver a cocktail or two at Devli's Acre to cure all that ails you!

This is a fun bar right on Columbus Ave. Their specialty cocktails were deliciously made in a way you might not even taste the alcohol. If you're just feeling for something classic, they got you on that too. Bartenders were friendly and the vibes were great on a Friday evening. This should definitely be on a bar hopping list if you're in North Beach!

Trendy and hip bar with Willa devilish theme decor from the furnishing, drink menus and services. The clients are mostly locals with age from mid 20s to 30s when I was there on Friday. They have a live DJ later on the night and was playing popular music from yesteryear and modern. They also have a downstairs with an additional bar but limited selection. All the high end drinks are upstairs. The basement is cozier and darker but equally dark.

wait kinda fun ambiance! good music, gets busier past midnight and good drinks! also a bathroom where there's stalls (not just one which is a huge plus iykyk). 7.5/10. a lot of Spanish music !!

I visited Devil's Acre for post dinner cocktails recently. It's a pretty large space with different lounge style seating. I didn't see any table service but we opted for the bar to people watch. After scanning the drink menu, the blackberry mule caught my eye & I chose that. It's flavorful, strong & refreshing. My friend ordered a Devil's Manhattan & he said that it was balanced well. He mentioned that there's a speakeasy downstairs but it was closed (although it was a Saturday night). Bartenders are nice & helpful. A live DJ started mixing beats around 9PM & he was pretty good too.

The lavender 75 drink is on the right side.

Went here on a Saturday night, and went downstairs to the other bar - it was like a mini speakeasy down there! It's more intimate & I got the Lavender 75 drink and it was so good that my friends got it too! Service was good! They played good early 2000s r&b music too. I would definitely come back here!

My friends and I stopped by here after dinner and we are so glad we did because this bar wasn't too crowded and had really cute Christmas decorations! They had a live DJ and some people were dancing by their tables, it was such a nice vibe. I ordered an espresso martini and it was really strong but I like that. It was a little lacking on the espresso taste though. I also ordered a lavender cocktail and it was both sweet and slight sour, it was a very refreshing drink, it didn't taste too much like alcohol. I also bought some birthday shots for my friend, the tequila never disappoints. The drinks are super pretty too!

Stopped in here for drinks and were really blown away. The DJ was blasting some early 2000's hits, the bartender was super helpful and had some great recommendations and the drinks themselves were delicious. The margarita's are way better than most places, and the blackberry mule (a little sweet) was also great. For sure going back here.

Really enjoy coming here for cocktails before or after dinner whenever we're in North Beach. There's always open tables. The place is kinda dark and has a great vibe to it. They have a DJ and live music on some nights. The drinks are pretty good, this time we got an espresso martini and a margarita. Both were tasty. We'll definitely keep coming back here. The bartenders and bouncers are also really nice.

We came here right when they opened before our dinner reservations. The bartender was nice but there was only one and they were was a lot of people there for just opening. I felt sorta bad he as the only one working. The drink menu is very cool and different never seen drinks like that. They were very good. The inside is decorated very cute. It was pricey for 2 drinks and tip it was 50$ however there was a lot of well thought out ingredients

Lovely ambiance and creative cocktails without feeling super pretentious. It has a cozy, warm vibe which is nice when Columbus is so busy. Kind staff as well. This is a really solid spot that is a go-to for me when I'm in the area! I also can't recommend their Full Moon cocktail enough. Super interesting flavors that work well together!

I overheard another bartender come out for a cigarette and call him by name, so I jokingly used his name while asking if we could come in. Shortly after, a friend who was already inside came out simply to check on us and see why we were still outside. The bartender then told her to "get the f*ck out of my face" and instructed staff not to let her or us in, even though my friend hadn't done anything wrong. It was so confusing and extremely inappropriate. The behavior was unnecessarily hostile and disrespectful. This bar does not treat its customers with basic courtesy, and that bartender showed zero professionalism or customer service skills.

I first walked through its…read moredoors in the late 1990s after moving to San Francisco, but the bar itself dates back to 1933, opening right as Prohibition was ending. It was founded by Anton "Tony" Nikitovich and quickly became a gathering place for the neighborhood's Italian and Croatian communities, where people came to swap stories, argue politics, and enjoy a stiff drink after a long day. And honestly, that tradition carried on well into the years when many of us became regulars. I hadn't been back for a few years until recently, when I decided to stop in again. The bar wasn't overly busy, but a handful of neighborhood folks were sitting at the counter, trading stories over their drinks. It felt instantly familiar. Not much has changed since the early 2000s when I used to come here regularly, and that's exactly what makes Tony Nik's special. Step inside, and it still feels like a mid-century film set: tufted leather seating, a long wooden bar that's seen nearly a century of San Francisco history, and that iconic neon sign glowing outside. While much of the city has reinvented itself again and again, Tony Nik's somehow held onto its soul. It's a grown-up bar without being stuffy, no loud club music, no trendy gimmicks, just well-made cocktails, a classic jukebox, and an atmosphere that feels earned rather than manufactured. The bar stayed in the Nikitovich family for decades, and the current owners were wise enough to preserve both the name and the vintage character Tony originally created. It's one of those rare places that reminds you what North Beach used to be, and, thankfully, still is.
