They have great prices on draft beers, service is friendly & so wonderful. I do wish the music was a bit quieter so I could talk with my friends rather than consistently having to say "what?" but I also realize that I am more sensitive to sound than most.

It is a small neighborhood bar that has quite some years on it and you can tell. I was greeted by the hosts for the shuttle bus and got a complimentary beer for choosing Nachbar as my pick up location. I did get my complimentary beer and left a generous tip. They had Nords Donuts for food for this event. Beer and Donuts? Very odd combination, was hoping for The Post Pizza or something that was real food. It was free so no complaints other than it was an odd combo. Note: they don't serve food at Nachbar. The inside is kinda dated and there is good seating. Bathrooms are set up like Mag Bar and Kerns Korner. IFYKYK. The outside is more spacious than the inside. They do have a nice patio. As for the inside it looks cool and they have plenty of board games and plenty of local beer on taps that you don't see at most bars. I wouldn't come here on a regular basis but, the local beer selection is a hit with me.

I'm genuinely disappointed writing this review…read more On Sunday night, I stopped into 3rd Street Dive and had a great time. The bartender was snarky, but it felt ironic and playful -- classic dive bar energy. No issues at all. I even suggested we return Monday night with coworkers. For context, multiple bartenders at the first bar we visited that evening warned us not to go to 3rd Street Dive due to past negative experiences. I brushed it off because my Sunday visit had been fun and I thought they just didn't like the dive bar vibe. Monday was a completely different story. The bartender was openly hostile from the start -- yelling and swearing at customers, aggressively confronting people for briefly being on their phones, and creating a tense, uncomfortable environment. Demanding no one stand at the bar while we were trying to pay our tab. The situation escalated when he intentionally and aggressively threw a drink on one of my coworkers. This was not an accidental spill in a packed bar. It was deliberate. At that point, it stopped being "dive bar attitude" and started feeling volatile and unsafe. There's a difference between edgy and unprofessional. Sunday felt edgy. Monday felt unpredictable and uncomfortable. Louisville has too many great spots to risk spending your evening somewhere that could escalate like that. I hope ownership takes a serious look at what's happening behind the bar. I won't be returning.

Free earplugs, strong drinks, and plenty of head banging. Genuinely the mosh pit here is always popping, and of course everyone remembers their mosh etiquette as people will help you up if you fall, and ask if you're okay if you seem hurt. I'm the friend that holds everyone's glasses and watches from the side though so if moshing isn't your thing, still come for the music and punk vibes. (I personally love watching people express themselves through moshing, I think it's such a beautiful raw expression of emotions!) The bar area has a few booths but is pretty small, but the back room where the shows are held is pretty spacious but fills up quickly. There's also a back patio! Ultimately, Mag bar is a great spot for a show, a drink, and some good ass music.

This means that pretty much every time I've gone here over the span of at least three years, I've had the same service experience. Just tonight, I was standing at the bar for 5min and it wasn't even a busy evening. There were two bartenders there and it took so long to be even be greeted. The bartender with green/ blue hair walked up and asked what can she get me. It's completely out of character for me to say something like this, but I said "I've been standing here for a long time without being greeted" and her response was "I'm sorry. Would you still like anything?" With a stale look on her face. I ended up changing my mind and walked out. Yall have got to do better. It wasn't even a busy evening.

There's a bartender named Yan who used to run this challenge where he'd make you a cocktail and only charge you if you liked it, he was really good at what he does. He's the one who introduced me to the Paper Plane, which is now one of my all-time favorite cocktails. I'm not sure if he's still there, but the other bartenders seem pretty good too. Just tell them what you're in the mood for and let them guide you. Here's what I got recently: The Dark Bar Princess: a must if you like something sweet and fruity. I'd say it's lime-forward with a strong pomegranate presence, and the gin completely disappears into it. Super refreshing and really easy to slam. Highly recommend this one. The Day Disco: a mezcal cocktail with a chili rim that brings real smokiness and heat. It's got a little sweetness to balance it out, but the mezcal is definitely there. I've never loved mezcal so this is just "pretty good". Monkey Drive shot: It smells and tastes artificial, like heavy fake banana, almost chemical. Not their strong suit. On the food side, I can definitely recommendthe Machada empanada for $6. Beefy, cheesy, and one of the best bar snacks they have supposedly. The bartender told me it's their biggest crowd-pleaser and I agree. Overall, would recommend this spot

Then when your "puck" lights up, get your order at the pickup window. Like all restaurants, Hauck's does some things better than others. Their burgers are excellent. If you're into smoked wings (I'm not), they're very good. Served hot, crispy, and not soggy. The sticky ribs appetizer were also excellent. I decided to try something other than a burger and went with the Big Brisket Dip. Smoked brisket, caramelized onions, cheese, horseradish aioli, and a side of au jus served on a hoagie bun. I added a side of steak fries. Hauck's nailed it. An excellent sandwich and crispy fries. I had hoped to take half home, but I just couldn't put the darn thing down. My wife ordered Dirty Nachos. They were a disappointment. Queso drenched chips? Nope. Black beans? Few and far between. A touch of pico. We added chicken (it was shredded). Some dry cheese (not melted). And a spicy aioli. Not at all what was described. The dish was so dry I thought it was designed to encourage ordering more beer to wash it down. Oh well, every time at the plate can't be a hit. One of the best things about Hauck's is the fun vibe. Lots of indoor/outdoor seating. Tons of games to keep little ones busy. And very pet friendly. We brought our Barkley, and he got to hang with two new friends, beautiful Collies.
