This was our last bar stop prior to going out to dinner with friends. My drink had a house made espresso, Absolut vodka, Borghetti (coffee liqueur), a rich simple syrup, and coffee beans. My drink was rich and delicious and I absolutely loved their espresso. I do not recall what drinks my friends ordered. By the time we were leaving there was plenty of people in the place and appeared there was some sort of event gathering. It was established in 1885 and definitely rustic by all means. If you want to take a step back in time this is a good place to start. Inside, there are 29 doors of coolers, a walk in cooler, and a refrigerator full of beer. And organized by all of the countries. This place is the brainchild of Sergio Ribenboim, an avid beer "collector". I get here every time I get to Louisville. One of my favorite spots (if you are on untappd, Sergio has over 37,000 beers checked in and more than 28,000 uniques). This time I tried the food, as people were raving about it. The feijoada was very nice. The fish and chips, not so much. Not surprising the feijoada was the star as Sergio is from Brazil. Nuff said? What can you find here? What can't you find here. On one of my previous trips, I found some Estonian stouts. On tap, there are more than 30 beers. And Sergio is stickler for putting beer in the correct glass. This is one of the most quirky taprooms you will ever visit. And you will likely come back. Maybe not for the food, but for the beer, the uniqueness, and Sergio.

They had Nords Donuts for food for this event. Beer and Donuts? Very odd combination, was hoping for The Post Pizza or something that was real food. It was free so no complaints other than it was an odd combo. Note: they don't serve food at Nachbar. The inside is kinda dated and there is good seating. Bathrooms are set up like Mag Bar and Kerns Korner. IFYKYK. The outside is more spacious than the inside. They do have a nice patio. As for the inside it looks cool and they have plenty of board games and plenty of local beer on taps that you don't see at most bars.
