The Center Bar is a real estate agent's dream: it offers location, location, location. It's situated right in the middle of the Derby City casino floor. You're gambling and thirsty? Thank goodness for the beer chaser. On reflection, I would stick to the bottled offerings. The bar's specialties read like an '80s child's dream: Bahama Mama, Tequilia Sunrise, Long Island Tea. They're appealing to the casino crowd who probably can't operate their smart phones but have somehow figured out the complicated video slots and don't mind the constant noise (you can't banter with the bartender if you can't hear them). If you want food at the Center Bar, you can order from Eats. You'll have to go get it yourself and eat out of plastic to-go containers, but again, you don't have to drive somewhere in the dark or rain. And bottles of water are free. This was our last bar stop prior to going out to dinner with friends. My drink had a house made espresso, Absolut vodka, Borghetti (coffee liqueur), a rich simple syrup, and coffee beans. My drink was rich and delicious and I absolutely loved their espresso. I do not recall what drinks my friends ordered. By the time we were leaving there was plenty of people in the place and appeared there was some sort of event gathering. We will have to come back here and with all the coffee drinks they had this may well be the place to start our day next time.

The gift shop itself is really lovely, so that can help burn a little time as well. Last call was at 4pm if I remember correctly, which is fairly standard for distilleries in KY.

It is a small neighborhood bar that has quite some years on it and you can tell. I was greeted by the hosts for the shuttle bus and got a complimentary beer for choosing Nachbar as my pick up location. I did get my complimentary beer and left a generous tip. They had Nords Donuts for food for this event. Beer and Donuts? Very odd combination, was hoping for The Post Pizza or something that was real food. It was free so no complaints other than it was an odd combo. Note: they don't serve food at Nachbar. The inside is kinda dated and there is good seating. Bathrooms are set up like Mag Bar and Kerns Korner. IFYKYK. The outside is more spacious than the inside. They do have a nice patio. As for the inside it looks cool and they have plenty of board games and plenty of local beer on taps that you don't see at most bars. I wouldn't come here on a regular basis but, the local beer selection is a hit with me.
