I was greeted by the hosts for the shuttle bus and got a complimentary beer for choosing Nachbar as my pick up location. I did get my complimentary beer and left a generous tip. They had Nords Donuts for food for this event. Beer and Donuts? Very odd combination, was hoping for The Post Pizza or something that was real food. It was free so no complaints other than it was an odd combo. Note: they don't serve food at Nachbar. The inside is kinda dated and there is good seating. Bathrooms are set up like Mag Bar and Kerns Korner. IFYKYK. The outside is more spacious than the inside. They do have a nice patio. As for the inside it looks cool and they have plenty of board games and plenty of local beer on taps that you don't see at most bars. For the past 2 years there have been no Derby stickers (something they started in 2020). They have done derby shirts for the past 2 years but, no stickers. I also collected their own stickers as well, there haven't been any new ones for a while. This is really my only kicker here. Idk what's changed or if it's not in their budget but, merch does bring in money. I also miss Potato the bar cat. I asked someone a long time ago what happened to Potato and a bartender told me the owners moved. I hope they can bring in new merch at some point and new stickers lol. They also used to post on Facebook what food trucks would be coming each night so, someone has dropped the ball on that. The staff here is very wonderful and my friend and I adore them. We are treated like we belong here and don't feel out of place. Even the patrons make us feel welcome. They're appealing to the casino crowd who probably can't operate their smart phones but have somehow figured out the complicated video slots and don't mind the constant noise (you can't banter with the bartender if you can't hear them). If you want food at the Center Bar, you can order from Eats.
