The work that was done seemed good - but looking at the photos, I can see how poor it was. Lots of missed areas. I had looked at the work briefly, from a distance, because he had promised to return and touch up anything that needed it. It's just a slap-and-dash job. Once I paid (in cash), a promised return to rectify any problems never happened. Important parts of the work are not finished, and my calls and messages are being ignored. Had an uneasy feeling when he showed up with nothing but a regular car. No crew, no drop cloths. The attached photos show just SOME of the way he left the job after taking my money. Also: I have filed a complaint with the NYS attorney generals' office. Storan undoubtedly thinks little old ladies aren't computer-savvy enough to find out personal information about people who defraud them. It would've been so easy to defuse this bomb, Jim.

The time from the signing of the contract on May 24th to completion on August 22nd was a total of…read more80 days. The contract was to remove existing 12x18 deck and install a new deck 14x20 of composite material with vinyl railing system. The actual project duration was 61 days. Numerous failures of proper planning resulted in delays and adversely affected final quality of the overall project. They started off on the wrong foot by pouring footers for the wrong size deck and things got worse from there. Heavy usage of shims and strange blocking under deck make the quality from underneath look sub-standard. The additional 6x6 post for support, necessary after the wrong size deck started being built looks out of place and wrong. The staircase with nail holes, hammer dents, visibility of risers and treads above skirting, narrow space between the hand railings all contribute to poor quality appearance. We would NEVER recommend this contractor for ANY WORK of any sort. I have full documentation of the entire project including dates, pictures and all attempted cutting of corners. He shared that they could replace the roof. My sister asked for a quote. Dakota sent two quotes to my email address. One quote was for the excavation of the two lots for the ranch modular home and the other quote was for the roof. My sister thought the quote was reasonable and accepted. She got in touch with Dakota and gave him $3,800.00. To get the materials to do the roofing job. Long story short, K & G Contracting workers went on the roof to determine how to complete the roof. Discovered there was 5 layers of shingle, not known to my sister. Dakota shared his crew needed to renegotiate the quote because of the number of layers. My sister shared she only has the amount the was quoted. Dakota decided his crew could put a tin roof on the house. My sister agreed, however, from May 30th until now, we have yet to get the tin roof. Dakota came up with zillions of excuses as to why his crew has not come to put the tin roof on. He even shared his 2 year daughter was attacked by his neighbor's dog, and they spent 18 hours in the emergency room. My sister being a compassionate person gave Dakota the benefit of the doubt taking in consideration the weather was rainy in the month of June. However, the month of July's weather was good. My sister called and texted Dakota several times he stopped taking her calls and stopped replying to her texts. Dakota has taken $3,800.00 from and elderly woman, the monarch of family, our mom, who so desperately needs a roof on her home. My family is totally disgusted with Dakota, K & G Contracting and is pursuing further actions to get the job done or a refund of $3,800.00.
