This studio is a mess of disorganization and unprofessionalism. On multiple occasions, classes have started late or been completely canceled, often without advance notice to parents. Children have been left sitting in the lobby for the entire class hour with no communication whatsoever. And no, this wasn't a one-time fluke--it's happened more than once in just a few months. Similarly, instructors find it acceptable to gossip with the children about other instructors, management, and parents who have left and returned to the studio. Apparently, it's considered disloyal to leave one studio, try out another, and then return. Still, they will gladly take your money and talk unfavorable behind your back to everyone, including the other minor students. When I approached the front desk, hoping for clarity on the recurring late and nonexistent class with one particular instructor (and maybe even a solution), I was met with a wall of excuses. Apparently, according to the desk staff, it's "common in the industry" for dance instructors to show up late or not at all. Attempts to de-escalate the tone of the front staff were futile, as they were in fighting mode from the start--a sign that this must be a constant defensive state due to ongoing operational issues. Another strategy - an attempt to escalate the issue or speak to the owner was blocked. I was refused contact info and told the owner couldn't be disturbed to come out of their office. Rather than acknowledging the issue or offering any kind of apology, the front desk doubled down with blame-shifting and illogical reasoning. My personal favorite was the suggestion that it's the child's responsibility to call their parent if class is cancelled (20 minutes after they are dropped off), because "many six-year-old students have phones these days." If that's your communications protocol, it might be time to rethink your business model. I was told refunds would not be issued (even though none had been requested), no attempt was made to rectify the situation, and no one took responsibility. There were simply more excuses piled on top of indifference and anger at being bothered by this disturbance, daring to have an adult conversation about an issue concerning a place where I take my child for education and care. To the owner: If you're reading this, please understand that you may have some excellent instructors - one which apparently left recently because of all the drama. But those instructors--and your studio's reputation--are being undermined by front desk staff who seem more invested in deflecting blame and stonewalling than in supporting your students or maintaining basic professionalism. My kids did a free trial class for cheer/k pop with Armando and they loved it! The music and his energy is so fun, I wanted to jump up and dance myself. They didn't have the skills as other students had in the class because they both never done anything like this before but (Mr Burks I believe his name is) assured me as long as they had fun they'll catch up in no time to all the other students. So I signed them up! I highly recommend this place. I've only interacted with the two men and a lady online to ask questions and every time I have seen them they have been very friendly and welcoming to myself and children. Our 8yo daughter started at TDC during Covid and this studio has consistently maintained all safety protocols effortlessly. It's a super safe and loving environment with tvs available to watch your child in class if you choose to stay. It's very spacious and clean. My daughters love for dance has grown immensely along with her skills thanks to this environment and instructors! The instructors are so knowledgeable and professional, and also fun and encouraging at the same time. From the moment you walk in you are greeted and everyone is so kind and helpful. I can't say enough great things about this dance studio and all the amazing staff here who pour into the kids. It's a blessing we've found TDC and my daughter is excited to come each day. My daughter is 5 and she takes a dance class and a gymnastics class. She loves it there! Everyone is so friendly! They take safety and health very serious. They make you wear masks, check temperatures, and ask everyone to wash their hands. Everything is very clean. Harpers teachers have been wonderful and she is learning a lot! My daughter absolutely loves this place. At first she was a bit shy but Ms. Debbie makes it easy for the girls to introduce themselves and be friendly. They are clean, organized, secure, and show the girls discipline. I have nothing but good things to say. At first I wished there was a window to see them dance, but learned to appreciate the tv screens in waiting rooms to prevent from distracting them. I recommend this place 100! Buddy Schwimmer is the nicest man you will ever meet! He is always trying to add more classes, make the experience better for the kids! The price is so good! My kid takes up to 18 classes a month for the unlimited price! She is taking classes we could have never afforded before and loving them!! To me, this is the best studio in Redlands. This place is HUGE. Lovely facility, very nice staff. Although they have a large client base of children and teens, I have found several very good adult classes for myself in jazz, ballet, tap, and hip-hop. Buddy's West Coast Swing classes are great- you never have to bring a partner, people are paired randomly and switch often. Buddy is the premiere instructor for West Coast Swing and he is a patient, thorough teacher. Since I planned to attend several classes a week, I chose the unlimited payment plan, which is $150 for the month. It was a great value for me. You pretty much have to pick up a class schedule in person, I can't find an active website for this studio. read more

The Dance Center, in both its current and previous incarnation, was my home for five years. Buddy, Karly, Chris, Victoria, Benji, Laurie and the people that came before and after them are spectacular teachers. The instruction is world class, and the whole atmosphere makes you feel like it's your family. Even though I don't actively take classes here anymore, I still stop in and catch up at times. I wholeheartedly recommend this studio. They teach champions, and have absolutely fantastic classes for kids and adults alike. In particular, I recommend the West Coast Swing classes. You needn't bring a partner, and you'll have the opportunity to dance and socialize. There are classes for every skill level, and I participated in many of them myself. read more

Went to WC2 lesson. Teacher was in the office on time, but entered the studio 15 minutes late. We were drop-ins. The teacher paid attention only to her four regular students and put us aside,rotating her regulars. She only paid attention to us if we asked her to. She ended lesson 10 minutes early.We felt ripped off by $40. We took lessons with Buddy last year-he treated us the same as regulars, paying full attention to our technique and giving us an honest full hour of training, while making the lesson fun and entertaining.If you can get a Schwimmer family member-take a lesson. read more

I like the dance teacher, Carly, who seems to be very patient with the kids. A while back when my daughter took ballet/tap there, I expressed how they need to have more seating and reconfigure the room so that parents can view their kids more easily without the sofa in the way right in front of the viewing window, but apparently not only do the owners NOT want parents to see their kids but one, one of the teachers of the older kids class came out and yelled and berated the parents waiting in the room saying that we are not to get any chairs from their room to use for parents in the waiting room, calling us "disrespectful"- literally parents and their waiting children are sitting on the ground because there's not enough seating! there's enough seating right now for only about 4-5 parents with the rest of the approximately 10 kids' parents not including their little ones expected to sit on the ground! Week after week we come to that studio to be expected to sit for an hour on their floors and that's not disrespectful? A woman working there said that the owner purposely does this in hopes that parents would just drop off their kids and leave. All the parents in the room were talking about this, appalled at this expectation. Not only did most of the parents not feel comfortable doing that, not only due to the kids young ages, shoes changes- they need help, but it's really their perogative to stay. If they can't accomodate parents with enough seating, then they really should get a larger studio or be limiting the number of students they take at a time. It was unprofessional of that teacher to yell at the parents that way and as customers we should be treated with more respect.Amendment to review: I do see in the above photo that they have removed the big sofa and replaced with more chairs which will seat more people, and removed the big coffee table. Let's hope now all parents and siblings can now be seated. However I don't know if the professionalism has changed at all. read more
