This is a Yelp recommendation. These places are great for team building. The more games and events,…read morethe better. Competitions, choosing who excels at what skill and such. I would prefer no alcohol, however, since this was a volunteer participation activity for the crew, it was everyone for themselves. The gang started off on the first floor at the lounge. There's a large variety of games to get things started, even on the walls, themselves. There's also a cafe with a few pretty good food options. Eventually, we migrated to the second floor and began wielding the axes. If you've read my previous writings you'll understand why I was disqualified and Marshalled the events. FWIW, at the end I threw against the top axe chucker and thoroughly cleaned his clock. This should garner me creds amongst the younger folk. Back downstairs for more snacks, drinks and the results. Thanks to the folks at Detroit Axe for an incredible experience. This will most likely be an annual event. 11/25

He answered our questions, explained the rules well reinforced safety and I think he enjoyed our competitive banter! The hour went by quick, because we were having fun. There are bottled/ canned adult beverages, pop and water in a small cooler, a sitting area near the entrance and higher tables closer to the stalls where the action is. But I found the bar height chairs uncomfortable and stood instead: I'm 6'1" and the bar to rest your feet on was too high up (my knees weren't comfortable) Plus tables nearby if your party is larger. 2nd sitting area in back and 2 gender neutral restrooms which are accessible for those with mobility limitations. It's very spacious inside and not really noisy, out of the 6 throwing stalls I think 4 of them were occupied this early Saturday evening. They played good music too! Lots of parking as they're in a strip of businesses and handicapped parking is available in the lot. But depending on where you park you're likely going 150 feet to the entrance which has no steps, except for curb to walkway which also has ramped areas. I don't know about prices because the activity was a Christmas present and the same person bought my drink. But I had a great time and would recommend you come check it out. I'd say it's adults only due to the dimensions of space/ target etc. But call ahead and ask them for their recommendations/ rules.

One time, a friend visiting me wanted to go go-karting so I bought us tickets. It was $25/person to go around about 7 times. I was given a kart that couldn't turn right unless it super slow so I had to slow down drastically every time. I eventually got ran into which put my kart out of commission for the rest of the rounds. It was no fun at all and I should have been offered a refunded since I couldn't even do the activity I paid for properly. I've also done this selfie golf which is okay but it just wasn't for me. I could tell it wasn't well cleaned or maintained. I've tried both of the bars which had great bartenders both times. The drinks are way overpriced just as the food is as well. It's about $25 for some chicken wings which they didn't even bother to try to make look good on their menu. Your first time there, you have to spend a minimum of $20 just to get a pass and some of the popular games aren't even working properly. You can get this thing called a rainbow pass where you can play certain games unlimited for a set period of time but it limits you to only the shooting and driving games which get tiring after 15 minutes. Overall, I really wouldn't suggest people going here unless you want to take a loan out for mid-tier games and overpriced food.

Only one in our group had any experience, so direction was needed. Sal was our axe specialist and with his guidance we were mostly all able to hit the ground running. If you follow his instructions you will stick the axe. Bottom line. It's a fun night out, and this is a great place to throw.

I met a nice woman by the name of Andrea and I thought that the girls axe league would be a place for me. I made friends, did things with some of the girls, even Andrea and thought I found my safe space. I got along with everyone. I even got a morale award and fun player to throw axes against award over my time there. The banter was always good. It was always a light night of laughter and giggles. I even brought my daughter with me from time to time and she loved it. I ended up making my own group of girls from axe that I see regularly, which I'm thankful for. I have been gone this last season so maybe now about seven weeks and as I was getting ready to re-sign up for the new season, I get this blindsided email with absolutely no information, no facts, nothing. I was very surprised, hurt..though this is Chris's demeanor so there is that. What's surprised me the most is there was no call to me. No text, no asking me to come in and have a conversation to see if there is any merit to what the email alleges. This is very shameful of Total Axe to not actually have a conversation first with both sides being that it's all alleged. Multiple people had a problem with me... great present the facts, something. Why I am putting this out here is because I want people warned of how this small business handles situations. They presume you guilty and that's that. The ladies that go there, I wish you all the best and will miss the camaraderie, the conversations, the banter . I hope to see you outside that hostile environment. Needless to say this was not OK the way this was handled. No one deserves this. I never laid a finger on anyone and never have I threatened anyone. I am sure I am missing some. Hi Felicia, This is to inform you that, effective immediately, you can no longer participate in leagues or activities at Total Axe. This decision has been made after considering multiple complaints and concerns regarding your conduct towards other members here. This decision is final and we will not discuss or debate it further. I wish you the best Chris Ross Total Axe There are other victims. Please beware.
