Many of the Cafe's are closed for some reason or another. The Daisy cafe was open. I had to wait for about 15 minutes to get a table. The server, Sarah was very attentive. She took my order within a few minutes of being seated. Then the waiting came, it took 30 minutes to prepare the Hoppel Poppel that was ordered. When you add the time up, it comes it's close to an hour before from the time you walk in and then served. I was told they have 30 tables they have to cook for. Maybe all at once, but they aren't turning them over that fast. The food itself was really quite good. The server was on the go also. It was just the speed of the kitchen that was unusually slow. I guess if you have a group of people that would be okay to chat away the time. Because of the taste server, they get a 4-star. The efficiency just can't be overlooked when it's that long. read more

I love this place a lot not gonna lie. I normally get the eggs Benedict but this time I got the twin sisters and it was SOoo good. I've never had a problem with over cooked eggs, broken sauce, burnt toast or anything like that. The service is a little slow but the kitchen is super tiny and they even have a sign explaining that service will be slow. I have no problem with slow service when they own up to it. read more

I love this place. Simply put, this is my breakfast spot of record in Bellingham. Yes, there are other great places for breakfast and I've tried them all, but this place is fall constant fall-back or go-to breakfast joint. Other favorites, include Mount Bakery, Harris Ave Cafe, Little Cheerful, Homeskillet, and Old Town. This place is has a friendly staff, great cooks in the kitchen, and a nice setting. Basically everything on the breakfast menu is worth trying. My favorites are the Baja Omelet and Fairhaven Scramble (see menu). The Hoppel Poppel is different and delicious and the Frittatas are fabulous. I've never had a bad meal here, which is why it's difficult for me to review this place. I go often and I try different things. On my last visit I decided to try a lunch item, as I've never actually ventured into that part of the menu... my oh my, it was a hell of an experience. I went with The Box Car, a sandwich that would seem rather ordinary; thin sliced roast beef, grilled onions, American cheese... then it adds a "skosh of Russian dressing" and then the ultimate kicker... parmesan encrusted rye bread. The sandwich came with my choice of a green salad with blue cheese. I must say, I was impressed and delighted by the flaky parmesan crusted bread. The Russian dressing and onions really brought out the flavor of the meat and that crusty deliciously cheesy bread tied the meal together. All that said, don't go to this place! It's mine and there's usually a wait on the weekends between 9:30-11am, so the last thing I need is more people eating here... but that's a clearly selfish stance and the restaurant deserves as much business as they can handle. I'm usually the type of person who makes breakfast at home. I'm not interested in being in public when my belly is rumbling, I haven't had my caffeine and my mood is iffy. Nor am I interested in paying $20 for my breakfast when it could be hit or miss. The Daisy Cafe makes these points all moot. The staff are kind, the food is consistently delicious, and the prices are more reasonable than other breakfast spots I've been to. I always recommend the Daisy Cafe when friends or family visit Bellingham! The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is quaint but stylish, and the prices are extremely reasonable. Serving local coffee and a full espresso menu is a huge plus too. It's so rare that I find a diner where I actually look forward to eating the eggs, but the Daisy Cafe's eggs are rich, flavorful, and have beautiful dark orange yolks. Came here with my sister who lives in Bham. Cute spot! Expect a wait because it's small and quite popular. We were here around 11:30am and it took about 20 minutes for a table for two. The menu is chock full of fresh pastries, tasty omelets, house specialties and fritattas. Best question of the day, "which type of rye toast would you like? Dark or light?" WHAT?! It's hard enough to find rye toast but two varieties? SCORE! Service was great and our waitress even apologized for the wait. If I'm visiting my sister in the Ham anytime soon, I've got to go back for another Greek fritatta. read more

Came here for Father's Day brunch. Wasn't our first choice as everything was super busy, but we found ourselves here and wow was it the right choice. Very reasonable prices, great food and portions just right. Extra seating on the other side of the building (I think the union cafe). The environment of the cafe in general was very cozy and it seemed to be a good way to start off the day. But overall, the bad service just outweighed the good food. My waitress really just ruined my morning because of her passive-aggressive gestures. She really took away from the great experience I could've had, so it was pretty upsetting. Aside from the experience I had with my not-so-great server, the food was great. It seemed a bit too pricey for its size in my opinion but it tasted great. I forgot what it's called but I got the dish with biscuits topped with eggs, bacon, and tillamook cheese. It was incredibly flavorful and truly carried the right amount of each ingredient so that it didn't overwhelm your mouth! It's upsetting because based solely on the food, I would've given this restaurant 4 stars, but the server really made for an unwelcoming visit. This just shows how much of an impact the workers make on the customer's experience! Hopefully I'll have the time to visit again if I ever stop by Bellingham again, and fully experience the great nature everyone else was able to write about. read more

My favorite is the Galbraith Quesadilla - crispy grilled tortillas filled with scrambled eggs, salsa, and avocado. For an charge you can add chorizo, too. In addition to several other breakfast favorites they also have good coffee, delicious pastries, and friendly service. I keep hearing so many great things about this place and finally tried it for the first time. I really enjoy having a mimosa or bloody mary with brunch, but their fresh brewed drip coffee did not disappoint. My partner got the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were dense and the gravy was the perfect amount of sausage. It was a tasty dish. I went with the servers recommendation of the Hopple Popple. Holy moly that was a great dish. The potatoes were cooked perfectly and there was a great amount of all ingredients. I substituted the rosemary sour dough and it made great little makeshift sandwiches. The diner atmosphere is very welcoming and quaint. The servers could be a bit more personable, but they do seem really busy. I will for sure be back! read more

I was in the neighborhood looking for a place to have breakfast and saw Katy H's Yelp review and decided to walk on over and give The Daisy Cafe a try. I liked the place as soon as I walked in. It's light and bright. It's not a large place by any stretch, I'd say it's pushing the edges of small. I went on a weekday and almost all the seats were taken. I can see how waiting is the norm on weekends. The menu had a really nice selection of items. I had to think "Do I want this or this or this or this?" The prices were very reasonable. I saw the service to be courteous and respectful but swift. No time for waits at a table while someone (like me) hims and haws about what to order. read more

I'm on a constant search for the best breakfast in town. I believe that I've found it at The Daisy Cafe. I ordered the veggie omelette with potatoes and marble rye toast. The portions are large and absolutely delicious. I also tried the cinnamon orange French toast. Absolutely delightful. Very reasonably priced meals. It was a little bit of a wait to get a seat as there's limited seating. My man friend and I sat at the counter, which is likely the best place to sit. The servers are friendly and attentive. Their service is terrible, I have never been treated so badly by a waitress in my whole life. This was a solid 4 stars for us. The service was great! Our server was on top of keeping our coffee filled and checking in. The food was pretty darn tasty. My scramble could have had a bit more seasoning in it, but overall it was good. My other half got pancakes with a side of eggs & sausage patties. So delicious!! In such a cute little spot downtown Bellingham, amazing customer service and the best breakfast I've had, ever! I got the Thursday night special which was biscuits in a delicious sausage gravy, with eggs and pan fried eggs. The biscuits were crispy in the best way without being dry, it was easily the best sausage gravy I've had- the flavor was immaculate. The pan fried potatoes are made with fresh cut red potatoes. This is a great little place for breakfast. Huge array of choices in the scramble/savoury category. They also have the famous orange french toast but I'll be damned if I can taste the orange. All I know is that all the items we had were good and I don't know what people are talking about with service (seemed pretty normal to me). It is important to note that the food here is not "standard old diner" food like someone mentioned, it is a cut above that but the menu might read like that until you taste it. Daisy Cafe is exactly what I was expecting out of Bellingham - a traditional diner style cafe where you seat yourself and receive beige mugs full of coffee that heat you to your core. However, the food was just okay. The service was just okay. My boyfriend recommended the smoked salmon omelette (since I'm such a huge seafood fan) and I was a little disappointed with how much salmon was actually in the omelette. I had to cut away nearly half of the omelette before I finally started in on the good stuff. That said, when I finally got there, it was pretty good. Very decadent and rich with the cream cheese, and the dill adds a nice touch. Also, I'm not a huge fan of potatoes that aren't crispy, so I didn't feel too strongly about those either. There's limited seating, it's a tiny place. We got stuck in a tiny two seater by the door on a very cold morning, so every time someone came in or went out (usually opening the door all the way to my pain), I was hit with a wall of chilly. We were lucky enough to move tables after about 20 minutes at least. Mostly meh, but I'd probably give it another try and order something else. read more

Solid 3.5 stars. Strong, refillable coffee. Seriously the best drip coffee I've had in a while. Breakfast was a bit on the greasy side, but flavour was good even though some items were saltier than others. Despite it being Sunday mid-morning, they worked as fast and efficiently as they could and got our food to us in a good amount of time.
