A big, clean, and friendly place for 24 cats! The staff there were very friendly and loved talking about their cats, and I'm sure they say the same thing over and over again at every hour, so I appreciate their friendliness. There's also a bar for both alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks. We booked our appointment online, and we had to reschedule it a few times, and they have pretty accommodating for our poor scheduling. I saw a couple walk ins while I was waiting, but there wasn't any slots left at our time, but they were offered an hour later. For around $15 you get 45 mins with the cats. The cats, there were so sweet and peaceful. Seems like they were very accustomed to people petting them. There were a few playful ones. The place is so relaxed and big enough where you can roam and pet different cats and have a space of your own. The Seattle location is tiny compared to this one.

There is an entry fee for this establishment.. which makes sense because it keeps this business running so they can keep saving kitties. :) They serve cookies, drinks and have a cute store with cat toys, bandannas and hoodies/shirts. I loved this place!! My first cat cafe and it helped us decide to go to Seattle to visit their other location! I think it was worth it. My kids loved it.

If you want to see the cats play more, visit earlier in the day. As expected, they get sleepy as the day progresses. The cats are very cute and friendly, and the staff is very attentive. They thoroughly clean the entire place between each session.

Shout out to Zeus---the beautiful orange man who greeted us at the door. You the real MVP. This is definitely a place I'll be visiting again when I get a chance! The cats all seem genuinely content, happy and well cared for. The staff are really friendly. The space is pleasantly designed and is super comfortable! If you have spare time and want to hang out with some adorable felines or adopt, I'd recommend giving this place a try

I absolutely love neko cat cafe! I've been to the one in Seattle and Bellingham and like the Bellingham location more. The interior is so cute and super spacious. There are around 20 or so cats, so there are plenty to go around for all the visitors. They cats are generally super friendly and love to get pats, though there were a couple that got a little testy. The cat bouncers are awesome too. They're all so knowledgeable, and were able to answer all of the questions we had about the adoptable cats and which ones would fit what we were looking for the best. Definitely recommend spending some time here, though I will say if you're looking to adopt, it won't be the fastest process so you'll have to be patient.

Neko was just about the cutest place we've been to in Bellingham so far. We stopped in a few weeks ago to visit their holiday craft market and it was a really nice surprise to find that Neko was super clean. I've been to a few other cat cafes in different states and have generally found that there is a heavy cat box odor when you come inside, but that was, thankfully, not the case. You can tell that all of the cats are well taken care of and truly loved. It was pretty chilly the night we went, so most of the cats were in a sort of hibernation state when we arrived, but once the cat treats came out, they perked up. Neko also has a decent selection of drinks for purchase and some resident cat swag to buy. We had a really great time visiting Neko and will definitely be back.

This is a fun New spot especially if u have little ones! It's 10 a person. A little steep if u have 4 or more family members for 50 minutes..but they have lots of kitties all over that are super playful and love to cuddle I think it's great to bring adoptable cats here they get so much love each day It will be our special occasion spot for our littles for sure.. Thanks for the much needed fun

MY FAVORITE PLACE EVER. please come here at least once. the kitties are absolutely adorable and i love how you are able to adopt. the staff is very knowledgeable and so friendly, and you can get yummy drinks! also, the price is super reasonable for a 45 minute visit!

i love this place! i went while visiting a friend and it was so much fun! i will say, make sure to make a reservation before hand as spots for each hour fills up fast! the staff was so nice and the cats were so fun to play with. I'd definitely come if i'm ever in the area again!

The staff handed out treats for free to everyone, to encourage the sleepy kitties to rouse themselves and come play!

The front desk…read morestaff was really friendly and helpful -- they took their time and pointed me toward some sweet dogs that seemed like a good match. While I was there, I noticed a little pug and asked about her. They told me she wasn't available for adoption. I could see why -- her butt was prolapsed and there was liquid poop and blood all over her kennel. She was panting, whining, and frantically trying to get out. It was really upsetting to see. I spoke with the manager, who told me not to worry, that they had it under control and the dog was fine. I left feeling terrible. I came back a few days later and the poor pug was still in the same condition -- prolapse, bloody diarrhea, the whole thing. She still looked miserable. I'm really concerned that they don't have the animals' best interest at heart. A prolapsed rectum is painful, and there was clearly blood coming from her. I just don't understand how a person could look at that and think it's okay to leave her like that. This experience has me seriously questioning the level of care the animals are getting. I wanted to support the shelter, but I left feeling heartbroken and worried. I'm still looking to adopt a dog, but after this experience I don't feel confident adopting from here.

I tried again two days later, same experience happened. Finally a day later they told me the cat I chose was already gone and told me to just make an appointment whenever I see a new cat arrives. I did but then the lady said I can't make an appointment because the cat just came in, need 72 hours. She can't guarantee I would get the cat though. I don't want to waste more time, I went to a different shelter where people know how to run the business. I got the cat!

Heartbroken and stunned... I visited a local animal shelter,…read moreWhatcom Humane Society in Bellingham, hoping to meet some cats and possibly give one a loving fur-ever home. Before I could even see them, I was told that if a cat is under 6 months old, adopting two is required. I wasn't even allowed to open a kennel and gently interact--I had to wait in a separate room for the staff to bring one in. After a 30-minute wait, I was told I needed to fill out a different application--apparently cat and dog adoptions use separate forms. While I was filling it out, I noticed someone receiving a large bag of pet food. She said it was part of their animal food bank, which I thought was wonderful. I asked about it and was told I could sign up. But then everything shifted. Because I inquired about the food bank, I was told I wasn't "financially responsible enough" to adopt. I explained I have food and resources for a pet, and that my last two ESA companions--a dog and a cat--each lived over 21 wonderful years with me. Still, I was denied the chance to even meet the cat I came for. I asked them to discard my application. This experience hurt deeply. I came with love to give and a stable home to offer. I never imagined being judged for asking about a support program offered to others. I will find a cat in need--just not from here.

She got to hold a bunny and baby bunnies too, a chicken, a small tortoise, kitty cats and play with a friendly Dog named Rex who was a very well-behaved greeter to all who came to visit the farm that day. There were ducks bathing and splashing which brought giggles from the littles. Chloe got to brush a very friendly Donkey, a small horse and feed the goats and sheep. We spent a little over two hours and very much enjoyed ourselves. From my personal experience I noticed one very important rule to follow for anyone visiting the farm... please allow the people who are working the farm to pick up and hand you the animals you'd like to hold. Some are tamer than others and some are new to the farm. Please watch your children and help them follow just a few easy rules. It's very hard for most children to not chase and scare them or pick them up without help. When following the basic rules you will be sure to have a fantastic time. We were treated very kindly and rarely had to wait more than a minute or two for our turn to snuggle with a furry or feathered friend.
