We ordered 3 breakfast sandwiches from menu board. 2 out of 3 did not match description. All contained plastic like frozen egg chopped up in a watery sandwich with cut up tomato and spinach, missing other ingredients. They had no sleeves for hot coffee. The food was more expensive than expected and except for one sandwich with the same frozen plastic egg slices cut up, were completely inedible. So, this little coffee shop is very conveniently located to my home. So, by that reason alone, it has become my go-to on weekends when I'm out early. First, they use Coffee By Design for their coffees, which happens to be one of my favorites. Secondly, they get a number of their baked goods from Baker's Bench (also a fave of mine), and they sell soup from Karmasouptra. Seriously - it's a trifecta of local goodness here! In addition, the service is always top notch. The owners are lovely and warm. The space is inviting and there is free wi-fi. The only thing I wish they would add is a Maple Latte. With the big name coffee brands being prominent and being favorites for many people but if you are sick and tired of the same coffee then give this place a try. A small drive through location but still worth giving a try and supporting local. Of course Portland has lots of local options but this is a great spot in the Greater Portland area. I'm a big fan of the abundance of flavors they can add to drinks especially their iced coffee. They also do a special drink of the month every month and is nice to look forward to finding out what it'll be every month. Tried their breakfast sandwiches a couple of times and while being okay I'd rather get that somewhere else. So maybe give the food a try once but I'd put a bigger emphasis on trying their drinks. Service is friendly and quick, kinda a necessity because the nature of being a drive through spot. Ditch the name brand/giant coffee spots and give this local spot a shot to become your go to spot! read more

Stopped in for the first time right as they were putting the Open flag out front. The service was warm and inviting, the menu is large with drinks and food for any palette. I ordered a Caramel Nut iced latte with almond milk and a cinnamon bun. The coffee is well balanced, perfect color and not too sweet. The standout though was the cinnamon bun. Hands down the best cinnamon bun I've ever had and the quality surpassed that of any standalone bakery. I don't know if these are made in house or sourced out but I can say without a doubt they're a hidden gem. The outside was perfectly flaky and crisp like a croissant while chewy and flavorful throughout. Highly recommend the Daily Grind and I'm excited to try the rest of their menu! read more

I've been here a dozen other times but had only gotten hot coffees which where fine but today was very disappointed. I got raspberry truffle iced coffee and the flavor is just terrible I don't know why but it's just tastes fake. I also got a blueberry muffin, and ohh boy was I disappointed when I got to where I was driving and pulled out the most bland muffin I've ever encountered. This is all I could manage to choke down with small sips of the only tolerable iced coffee. I mean service is great and they seem friendly and quick, but this has left an unfortunate and literal sour taste in my mouth. read more

This coffee shop is what happens when people think they can just open a shop, offer low-grade coffee, stale pastries, wrap it in a cute space, and think they'll rake the money in. The coffee tastes like Maxwell House. Yes, it really does taste that bad. I can get far better coffee at Cumberland Farms. True story. The pastries are all stale and they're marked up 100+% from the bakery across the street. You would have to be an absolute moron to pay those prices when you can just head over to the Baker's Bench and get the fresh goods at less than half the price. Other than that, the interior seating arrangement is nice and comfortable, but that's the ONLY thing this place has going for it. One reviewer glowed about how they sold Coffee By Design coffee. They may sell it in bags, but I highly doubt they brew it. read more

I am literally obsessed with the Oreo latte. Do yourself a favor and order it. Also fun fact, they are making muffins and mini donuts in house (donuts are weekend only I believe, but please don't don't quote that). My coffee tastes aren't too fancy so I love utilizing the drive-thru here. The coffee is great and it is so LESS acidic than I am used to which feels great on my stomach. They also have some decent desserts for a quick snack for later (or get the cookies for some amazing desserts). Why do I like to swing by there often? The guys working the booth are dog lovers who always say hello to my pup and give her a cookie too. Always a great experience! read more

This is the best coffee house in Westbrook. It is family owned, super convenient and high quality. The drive through is especially awesome when I'm on my way to work and want my iced coffee fix. They even have decaf iced coffee and hazelnut iced coffee! There is hardly ever more than one car in front of me. I don't understand why there is a line at Dunkin Donuts when this is so much better. They have all the flavorings you could want and recommend some tasty combos such as hazelnut truffle (hazelnut and chocolate syrup). These suggestions are helpfully listed on the menu. Their food menu is much better than most coffee houses. It's a place where you actually want to go for lunch and to get baked goods in addition to your coffee. All I can say is "Fish Plate". They have amazing sandwiches and great plates shaped like fish! The staff is super friendly and willing to make your sandwich any way you like it. They have so many options for fresh bread, locally sourced veggies and great protein options it's hard to choose so it may take you a little while to pick. Staff is patient and happy to take time crafting it just the way you'd like. Once you get your sandwich on the amazing FISH PLATE you can sit right at the giant window and watch the world go by. I've been here a couple times now since my husband works in Gorham. It's a general coffee stand, that has blenders and syrups for making the things people used to seeing on a Starbucks menu. What bothers me is that the sign offers and mocha freeze, in one size only which is apparently a medium, and says that the cost is $4... But the person who made it charged me $5.11. Went into The Daily Grind yesterday 15 mins before closing to grab a quick coffee and pastry. I wanted a hot, dark roast. The girl informed me they didn't have this because it was closing time. She offered to make a latte. I also ordered a cream horn. I got my latte and pastry and drove off. Then I realized when I got to my destination, it was not a cream horn but a cinnamon bun. Overall, the coffee was good, service was sub par and the cinnamon bun was dry and tasted like it was made a week ago. read more

What a great find. With two children a quick breakfast is almost always out of the question unless you settle for a fast food chain. When driving by we were delighted to see the drive through option. Coffee was wonderful as were the ham & cheese croissants. Would certainly recommend. The cream horns and cinnamon buns looked amazing. We will have to come back to try them someday soon. read more
