I really like this salon. I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews. They are always busy, and…read moresome of the manicurists are better than others, but I always leave with fantastic looking nails! I have been going to this salon since they opened - not sure, 4 years? One time my manicurist cut one of my cuticles and it bled. I have very bad ingrown toenails on my big toes, and Tina is expert at removing them. I've never had an infection or bleeding after a pedicure. I get both plain and gel nails, and they have a nice large selection of colors. The price is great, and they're always busy - I think unhappy customers must leave reviews more often than happy customers do.

I had a terrible experience here and will not be coming back…read more I booked a gel manicure because the price listed was $35, but when it came time to pay I was charged $53 for the exact same service. What made it even more frustrating was that I heard other customers being charged $35 while I was there. There was no explanation for the price difference, and it felt very misleading. I also asked multiple times for my nails to be cut shorter, but my requests were completely ignored. I left with nails much longer than I wanted. The most concerning part of my visit was the cleanliness. While doing my nails, the technician had what looked like a bite or sore on her arm that she kept scratching and squeezing. I saw what appeared to be pus come out, and she continued touching my hands afterward without washing or sanitizing hers. It was incredibly unsanitary and made me very uncomfortable. Overall, the misleading pricing, lack of attention to what I asked for, and poor hygiene made this one of the worst nail salon experiences I've had.

I never write reviews but getting acrylics done at this place was the worst decision I ever made…read more My fingers are raw as she filed my skin on several of my nails. Not only that but everything looked bumpy and messy. She had to redo my one hand because it looked that bad. The "nail tech" rolled her eyes at me several times. Spent all my time and ended up with a terrible set. Go somewhere else!!

This is usually where I get my nails done in State College. I was never a "getting my nails done"…read moretype person, until I got a pedicure and realized that the massage chair and foot soak did a lot just in terms of stress reduction and relaxation. Plus, $35 for a mani+pedi didn't seem to bad. Once, however, the women doing my nails cut my cuticles so short that 8 of 10 fingers bled; she put the sanitizer on without warning me it may burn, but at least it stopped the bleeding... until I got home and another ripped open. What I find disappointing about Regal Nails is that yeah, it's cheap, but it lacks. I feel like they're always in a huge hurry, and the work suffers as a result. When I'm in Chicago I can get a mani-pedi for $35 where it's much more thorough and high quality; yes, I realize it's in a different place, but it seems silly that in a city of 3 million I can get better services for the same price... and everyone blames big cities for being expensive. This is "A-OK" for State College, because I haven't found better. It would get 2 stars in another place.

A card card had to be on file to book the appointment and we were told it would be a $45 haircut and $85 single process (simple all over brown color). This turned into being charged $345! My daughter was clueless that anything additional was being charged. When I saw the charge hit my card, I immediately called the salon. I was told I had to speak to a manager and no one else could help me. No problem, right? Well after several calls, messages, and emails, No manager ever replied. EVER. Now I'm fighting it on my credit card and that should work out but honestly, this salon is taking advantage of these young women who don't know better and are charging the card on file before they know what hit them. The card was literally charged before she even completed her color. We rarely write bad reviews but this is just too egregious to ignore. They refuse to answer me or offer any explanation. Ugh - learn from me and stay away.
