Was once very pleased with my stylist Susan Kelly Arvelo. But now I cannot believe that she tried to blame HER mistakes on the product, then on ME personally!!!! I had went to her for a custom color (Rusk POPFX in purple) and went from hair that was to the middle of my back (specifically brought in a picture of the cut I wanted.) And I walked out with a cut that looked NOTHING like the picture whatsoever. I was happy enough with the color application at that point in time, so I was willing to overlook the haircut mishap. Since she had always been a great stylist/colorist in the past, and was able to get the EXACT results that I always asked for. Not the case this time!!!! I waited for almost 4days before washing my hair after I had left the salon. (I am not one who washes my hair very much, especially since I am in a wheelchair. Spending most days at home and not going to be out in the "elements" as to cause damage or collect any other product buildup in/on my hair. Washing it is usually only a 2-3 time per week requirement.) So imagine how shocked I was when I washed it and all along the hairline wherever she had placed "foils", ALL of The Rusk product had washed OUT!!! I contacted her immediately regarding the problem. And her response was that it was the fault of the product. Shortly afterward, she then said that she had spoken with some "color guru" and she tried to blame ME, stating that I was using the wrong shampoo, purple fades away faster than all the other color, on and on and on. (Mind you.... I use ONLY Rusk products AND I do NOT EVER blow dry my hair!!!) So that's taken out of the equation. I nicely tried to remind her of these facts, and she at that point stated she would: get back to me when she had time available and rectify the issue and apply more product. That was the last time I heard anything from Susan Kelly Arvelo! I had hoped that Rusk sold their product online, so I went to their website. Sadly no. But they did have a contact email address. TWO separate representatives from Conair AND Rusk reached out to The Cutting Edge, (and of course Susan Kelly Arvelo was as sweet as sugar!) She told Judy, the Rusk product sales manager, that she was going to promptly call me and setup an appointment with me. A month and half later...... I'm STILL waiting for the appointment/phone call from Susan Kelly Arvelo. Better yet Anyone from The Cutting Edge Salon. It's not as if I was a bad customer. She made MORE than her fair share of $$$ OVER and above the prices she charged me for the color/cut. Furthermore it never took her much time to get through these appointments with me. So I'd say, 20-30% was being a little more than generous with her. Especially since she can't cut hair, no matter how what you ask for, or what picture you show her. Her excuse: "It'll grow out!" So save your money and hassle. STOP shedding tears for lost hair, bad color and terrible stylist as well as HORRIBLE customer service. DO NO go to the Cutting Edge Salon. read more

My one and only place to get my hair cut in Auburn. Wanda and Kelly are the best! I moved and I wish I could bring this place with me. This is also where I get my wedding hair done. The only thing I don't recommend doing here is getting eyebrows waxed. I did once and it just wasn't as good as other places. read more

The wall outside says walk-ins welcome and all My wife needed done was a facial wax. She walked in and was greeted very rudely. When She said she was just coming to get a facial waxing, the lady at the front desk said very rudely, "well we're not going to have anyone here to help you today." And continued doing whatever she was doing. We just moved into town from out of state and was looking for a place, but this one We are not planning on coming back to. I have never left a negative review for a business but sometimes you have to warn people when a stylist treats their client unprofessionally and the quality of their service declines. I have used Susan Kelley Arvelo for a couple of years. In the beginning the service was good but for what ever reason the quality of service has become unacceptably poor. She stopped styling my hair the way I asked her to, she started short cutting the services by not drying my hair completely, using an electric razor instead of using scissors to trim around my ear area thus cutting it too short. Recently even though I had made my appointment a month in advance she double booked other people during my appointment time thus not having the time to cut my hair to the previous standards. When I expressed my concern that she had double booked someone in my appointment time last month and did it again this month instead of responding in a responsible mannerism that would address correcting her performance. She told me to reschedule again that she wasn't cutting my hair. I told her after the poor haircut she gave me last month when she had used up my appointment time on another lady that I couldn't do anything with my hair and needed it cut. She told me to get another stylist to do it she wasn't cutting my hair and stormed off to the break room. Please be forewarned this stylist you might want to avoid. read more

I stopped in for a cut when I saw that they were walk-in friendly. Dusty took me back immediately and got to work. She was very friendly and made me feel at ease. I have super thick, naturally wavy hair and she was honest enough to tell me that she didn't think the cut I suggested would work well with my hair type. I appreciated her opinion and took her advice- and I was very pleased with the results! I was also happy about the price. Very affordable for such a nice salon. read more

i went here because i dyed my hair blonde at home and it had some brassy tint to it so i went to just dye it all a light brown to start over and give my hair a break from the bleach. my hair when it first got done was a dark brown almost a chocolate color and it was darker than expected but i liked it! i didn't wash my hair for about 3 days because it felt so nice and soft and i didn't want to ruin it but then when i finally washed it within the next day it was almost completely washed out. my hair was an orange color and very coppery. i was so confused because i just spent $90 on my hair to make it one color and here i go again with 6 different colors going on. i was pissed. haven't been back since. read more

This company is the worst company ever!!! We used them for a few months and they did a horrible job. Any time I called to ask them to fix some problems, I never got a call back. Now that we cancelled our service. I get a past due notice in the mail telling me I didnt pay for one of the months that they did service. I was NEVER notified. I wasnt given any answers except I just need to pay what is owed to them. I payed for the service when I received a statement. Now they are telling me I owe them money.
