A pleasantly generic decor gave no hint of the diversity of Sushi Nara's menu, not in Japanese cuisine as expected, but in a full-range of Korean fare as well. And because I didn't find the UK brimming with a great array of sushi (salmon and tuna seem to comprise 98% of the offerings), the Korean offerings were a welcome treat. The next question, as I'm suspect of places specializing in multiple cuisines, was: How good would that Korean fare (or Japanese fare) actually be? Good, quite good. The Nara Bento (£16.90) was a nice array of food: filling, fresh tasting, as varied as it needed to be, and well-presented. The Beef Dolsot Bibimbap (£9.50) and Kimchi (£2.20) were equally satisfying. I'd likely look askance were I to find a restaurant back home (San Francisco Bay Area) trading in both Japanese and Korean fare but here in Staines they pulled it off with mastery. It's great to hear we have something like this in Staines especially as usually if you want any bubble tea or any traditional authentic dishes it's hard to find any unless you go into Central London. I've tried dishes from nearly all the stalls in the food court so I can definitely rate the food court to be superb. The staff are incredibly friendly and if you're struggling for choices they're always willing to offer a hand! Some of my favourites include Tea + Me, a delicious bubble tea stall available at the food court as well! As a Chinese-Vietnamese person I'm proud of the quality of the beef pho available at the PhoViet stall, as it reminds me of a homely feel. Also, you should definitely check out the sushi rolls at the EatJapan stall, my favourite is the prawn roll!

Ramen, Amaebi, Salmon nigiri and sashimi, Karaage chicken, prawn fried rice and vegetable gyoza. First off, the fish was really fresh and that's always the number one thing. The amaebi (sweet shrimp) was different than what I normally have. Normally the amaebi would come served raw and the head would come deep fried separately. The head was not served, but it was probably due to their customer base. The Karaage chicken was very tasty. We all thought the fried rice could have used more flavor. In the end, we ate everything. Staff was very friendly. I would rate it 3.5 stars.
