Summer is half way over.

Joe is a great waiter. I stopped in for a glass of wine or two or three. The highlight of the place was the environment. The music was a very diverse and entertaining mix, but not so.loud as to not hear yourself think. The furniture makes you feel as though you're in someone's living room rather than just another commericial place in Manhattan. This will definitely be a future study spot.

I've stopped in here before for lunch and I remember the filet mignon being very good overall. Service was also great. This time was no exception. Service was again fantastic (my receipt says Bruce Y). Bruce (I hope that's his name!) was pleasant, suave, and gave a really calming vibe. I started with the Silly Midwicket, made with Bombay Sapphire, St Germain, rhubarb liqueur, grapefruit, basil. It was light and refreshing. One of the other bartenders was prepping some fresh basil (everything looked so fresh) and I was entranced by the smell. So I asked Bruce to make me something light and basil heavy. He didn't tell me the name of the drink, but the receipt says, "fresh linen," which the menu says has Hendrick's, basil, cucumber, egg white, lemon. Crosby offers many flavor profiles with several types of liquor and accompaniments. Tequila, fresh herbs, chartreuse, fruity flavors like watermelon, fresh raspberries. I will definitely stop back by this bright, cheerful space with its bright, cheerful employees!

We've been coming to the Crosby Bar for years. They never disappoint. This was the first time we ordered afternoon tea. We were a group of seven. Lots of different teas are available. I had English breakfast. Food is served on tiered plateaus. Sandwiches. On the first level and sweets on the top. All the little sandwiches were great and a few outstanding. My favorite was a flavor filled chicken salad with a close second being. Ham and soft cheese. Sweets were also first rate best was a macaroon. We were there for about two hours and had a wonderful time. At least four different workers took care of us, waitress drink servers more tea specialists and clearers. Even though the restaurant was full and very busy, we were treated excellently. The place is always beautiful and was decorated tastefully for the holidays. All seven of us loved this experience and would gladly return any time.

Pros: I adore the art and aesthetic of the place. It's colorfully cohesive. Service was attentive but not pretentious. They gave us the nice comfy seats and I love the greenery. Cons: I wish there were more meat free options.

The Drawing Room

Any one can come eat at the Crosby Street Hotel restaurant, but only guests can come eat in The Drawing Room. In the name of exclusivity, we took advantage of being able to have an entire beautiful room to ourselves. Only drawback here is there isn't an ideal place to eat in the Drawing Room, there's no typical dining tables. There's couches with coffee tables but then you have to hunch over. There's one small dining table in the middle but you feel like you're eating on a piece of art since the table isn't level. If you have more than 3 people I would just eat with everyone else in the main dining room. As far as the menu goes, I had a really hard time deciding what to order since so much looked good. I landed on the Shakshuka and wasn't disappointed. For shakshuka theirs was on the simpler side, just the sauce and eggs, but simple doesn't mean bad! It was packed full of flavor and the service was good. Some reservations include breakfast (ours did!) and this was probably the best included breakfast I've ever had at a hotel so I can totally see how this hotel has a Michelin acknowledgment. Someone in my group got the Lox bagel, and if I ever come back I know for a fact that's what I'm getting -- it was HUGE and it looked so good. Overall this is a worthwhile stop and walking distance to the best of not just Soho, but the edge of Noho!

I first discovered this place when visiting for high tea for my friends bachelorette, and since then it's become my favorite spot in NYC for high tea! Came again with my mom a few weeks ago and we shared their delicious tower of treats (my favorites are their ham and mustard sandwich, and of course the scones!) I got the earl grey and mom got the chai tea, which were both lovely. The ambience is bright, modern, and elevated, perfect for celebrating a special occasion or just a nice treat. The servers are incredibly welcoming and will even refill any of your favorite treats for no added charge. We ended up with a good amount to take home as well. It comes out to about $75pp, which is a little steep but honestly one of the better value high tea rates in the city for the quality and ambiance! The hotel also has the most beautiful and luxurious bathroom, so it makes for a great pit stop for a long day out exploring the city!

Bottom tier. Very light with cream and preserves

The ambiance is sort of Alice in wonderland-ish. Bright, vibrant and something more interesting to see in every corner/wall. The staff is attentive but not overbearing. Everything was timed well. I had the tea service which came with light fluffy scones. Delicate sandwiches. Topped off with an array of desserts. There were too many dense sweet desserts. I didn't find them to be complimentary to the tower. Other than that, I Can't wait to take my daughter!

My friend celebrated her birthday here, and it was a really cute and unique space. We were seated right away and the cocktail menu was pretty extensive. We all ordered cocktails and everyone really enjoyed their drinks. They also had a sizable food menu with bar snacks along with a full menu to choose from. We ordered a number of items including the shishito peppers, the French onion soup, the Mac and cheese, the charred brocollini and the wasabi shrimp. While I didn't try everything, the things that I did try were pretty decent. For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake, the chocolate lava cake and the salted caramel ice cream. The ice cream and the lava cake were my favorites from the bunch. The service was very good, but if I was to come back here again, I think I'd just come for a drink as the food wasn't super memorable.

Afternoon Tea

Amidst a charming whimsical decor and favorable service, afternoon tea is a lovely experience at The Crosby. You enjoy a three tier display of finger treats, and a pot of yummy tea. The scones were tasty and fresh served with jam and clotted cream, and the desserts were artistically made. The sandwiches could be improved though. The bread was dried out, not fresh, the cucumber sandwich filling was very sour, and the salmon sandwich tasted fishy, also not fresh. The China set was chipped as well. All in all, a pleasant way to celebrate an occasion or just a day out.

The Cosby Hotel has a beautiful tea at the Crosby Bar. The afternoon tea is $75 & you get to choose your tea from a list. The scones were delicious with the preserves & clotted cream. For the sandwiches, I liked the egg salad & the cucumber/cream cheese. For the sweets I loved the lemon meringue, Amarena Cherry Cheesecake, & macaron. I wish there was more lemon layer- it was the thinnest spread with lots of meringue.

I had a delightful afternoon tea for one at The Crosby Bar. The space was breathtaking, with beauty and vibrant colors everywhere. The afternoon tea was elegant, the food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. Can't wait to return and explore the other Firmdale Hotels in the city for more afternoon tea experiences.

Burger- solid

The Crosby Bar has solid drinks and food in a great ambiance- what's not to love? Yes it is a bit pricey but it's worth it IMHO. I had a hot toddy (it was cold I had to) and the whiskey paloma (solid and a different twist to a classic). My friend and I also got the burgers (with cheese of course) and it was quite tasty. The bread was average which is why I knocked off a star but overall it was great. The dessert was amazing as well- we got an epic chocolate sundae that hit the spot. All in all, I'd definitely go back.

First and foremost, absolutely adore the aesthetics and the offerings of this restaurant/bar. Stunning! Their cocktails all looked delicious. I ordered the Raspberry Clover and was not disappointed. I would have ordered food however, when my beverage was delivered that was the last I saw of my server. I ended up closing out and heading somewhere else. Although my interaction was lacking from the actual server... I would like to give a shout out to Louis(?) the new manager onboarded. He greeted me upon arrival with a smile, walked me over to an available table in the bar and cleaned it without hesitation so I did not have to wait. Go Louis!

Here's the rundown: - naan: recommend this, though maybe overhyped myself based on previous reviews. The yogurt sauce was delish, but the bread itself was very good but not mind blowing. - BLT salad: dark horse fav! Tons of flavor and I kept going back for more. Recommend as an app - Union Square bento: honestly, wish this came in a real bento box. Seems like a miss, but I suppose separate plates give you more volume. Good to add as a side to whatever else you get. Cabbage was the best of the trio. - rice bowl: squash and rice were solid, but the shrimp was the standout here! Very flavorful shrimp. Not sure how they packed so much flavor into the little bites of them - fried chicken thighs: I mean, yes. They're juicy. They're fried excellently. The side sauces are creative and great for vinegar-lovers like me I also got the carrot cocktail which was ultra smooth and had the right amount of dill flavor. We got two cookies to go which were divine. I'd get them to stay to try it with the oolong milk next time, but we had to run. The service was friendly, courteous. Ambiance was trendy but not uptight. Would recommend for a nicer night out

For the desserts, the cookie was my favorite - a warm chocolate chip cookie with bits of pretzel, paired with an oat milk tea for dipping. The dirt was nice and chocolate but a bit too salty for my taste, and the sticky date cake with rice pudding was nice but a bit unmemorable. My friends also tried the rice porridge, pimento cheese sandwich, cinnamon roll, and cornbread which they seemed to enjoy. The total came to around $200 for the five of us - pricey given that one of the people didn't order an entree. I'm glad I got to try the interesting and creative fusion dishes.

That said, if you're somehow lucky enough to secure a reservation, you're in for a treat. My wife and I had a 6:30 p.m. reservation but we were able to get seated early at 6:15 p.m. The inside is super dark and extremely loud, so if you're looking for a intimate place to hang-out for a first date, this isn't the best spot. The crowd here is honestly a bit obnoxious as well: lots of loud, over-served patrons bellowing Happy Birthday songs were present during our visit. Moving on to the actual food, my wife and I decided to forego their famous baked lasagna dish. We've watched enough influencers and YouTube reviewers to pretty much understand exactly how it would taste, and for that reason, went with a side of Japanese sweet potatoes and two pasta dishes: the buffalo milk caramelle and the sourdough pasta cacciatore. To start, we selected the chrysanthemum salad as well as the stuffed garlic flatbread. Across the board, the food was delicious. The garlic flatbread reminded me of an artichoke dip and had a very satisfying cheese pull. This is a dish you'll want to enjoy quickly before the cheese re-solidifies. The pasta dishes here are truly spectacular and tasted like nothing I've ever tried before. The buffalo milk caramelle wrapper was perfectly al dente and the inside was rich and creamy. The candied kumquats in the sweet sauce added a nice citrus note and actually paired really well with the Japanese sweet potatoes. If you don't enjoy sweet items, you may want to skip over this dish because the sweetness is anything but subtle. The texture of the sourdough pasta had a unique bounce to it that I haven't encountered before with pasta. The oversized Sicilian olives in the dish are a lot mild than your typical olives in terms of sourness and tanginess and provide a nice texture contrast more than anything. The chicken is buttery tender: genuinely impressed that they were able to achieve this type of texture. While food was incredible, it took a very, very long time for food to exit the kitchen. After our initial salad and flatbread, it was another 30 minutes of waiting before our pastas arrived. We were not checked on by our waitress at all during this period. I observed the same issue with our adjacent tables. Overall, I had a solid experience at Don Angie and would dine here again. If you're coming with a smaller group, I wouldn't hesitate to forego the $72 viral baked lasagna pin-wheels for two, and order a bunch of other pastas to share.

The chrysanthemum salad was a little more sour than I had liked. I thought the lasagna didn't really live up to the hype unfortunately, and felt like regular lasagna. I did like the Japanese sweet potatoes and the chicken. The chicken had a crispy top, which was a decent touch. The place does get busy and there's tight seating due to the limited reservations.

Every single dip was so delicious I wanted to take some home. The layers of flavor were amazing, and it was impossible to stop eating it with the freshly baked pita! The other dishes--North African eggs, steak, and Brussels sprouts--were just okay. The biggest surprise was the dessert--Lemon Frozen Yogurt! It was so delicious I wanted another serving!! The acidity was just right, refreshing without being too sweet. A bite after the meal was incredibly soothing. Not every plate was a hit, but the standouts were SO good that we'd absolutely return. We made a 6:30 PM Saturday reservation to celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary. I'll admit, the location initially threw me off. It has a somewhat corporate feel, tucked between buildings near the Lincoln Tunnel Expressway on Manhattan's West Side. But once you're there, the buzzing patio and lively atmosphere win you over. Great for date night, dinner with friends, business meals, large groups, or a pre-event meal. A wide age range and a crowd that feels like it's hitting on all cylinders. Bonus points for a thoughtful anniversary card waiting for us when we sat down. Such a sweet touch! We skipped cocktails after a full afternoon of drinking, but more than made up for it with the food. The menu is designed for sharing. What we ordered: * Fattoush salad | 3/5: A creative spin on the classic, topped with pita, thinly sliced Honeycrisp apples, and candied pecans. The apples and especially the pecans overwhelmed the dish for me. I'd love to see more vegetables and fewer sweet toppings. Prefer a traditional fattoush, but this was fine. Need 1/4 the amount of pecans given * Tuna tartare | 1/5: Unfortunately, the one miss of the evening. The description with cucumber, figs, and cardamom sounded incredible, but the dish fell completely flat. The cucumber purée had an almost gel-like texture, and the tuna didn't taste fresh to us. We sent it back. More acidity, spice, and sumac could help, but the freshness and texture were the bigger issues. * Octopus carpaccio | 5/5: STUNNING. I usually gravitate toward a cooked octopus tentacle, but this preparation with fennel absolutely won me over. One of my favorite dishes of the night. * Pita: Thick, soft, and delicious. We went through two baskets! An excellent vehicle for the dips and appetizers, but honestly good enough to enjoy on its own. * Little gems | 3/5: Served with za'atar crumbs and roasted grapes. The grapes initially threw me off, but the combination worked surprisingly well. A creative salad I really enjoyed, but $19 for some leaves, breadcrumb & grapes is pushing it * Manti | 5/5: Little wonton-like dumplings stuffed with spiced beef, served over garlicky labneh with oven-dried tomatoes. Absolutely delicious. A must-order for us. * Crispy latkes | 5/5: Everyone should order these. Perfectly crispy with a lovely thyme finish. An excellent side that deserves its own spotlight. * Charred broccoli: A very generous portion served with cashew harissa that packed some heat. So tasty that I accidentally ate the entire side myself... oops. Bottom line: Zou Zou's is worth a visit for the atmosphere alone, and do need to return to have actual entrees. The tuna tartare was a miss, and the fattoush wasn't my favorite, but the octopus carpaccio, manti, latkes, and broccoli more than made up for it. Add in thoughtful service touches and a lively, versatile setting, and we left happy.
