    Banging fish dinner

This place was super nice very beautiful inside the art was fantastic. Clean and very well thought out design. Our sever was kind but slow on a not so busy mid afternoon. Maybe a bad day for her. I feel bad saying this but please go to The Crazy Coop and get the Fish! Wow was that fantastic. My 20 pieces wings apparently didn't come with fries so when I said yes I apparently ordered a $5.00 tiny side dish of fries. That was not cool. The wings both had a great presentation on the plate and each had good taste. But other than the first big one up front of the plate the rest were small and wanting more. I don't like paying $35 for wings and fries and still being hungry after. This is not a restaurant I'll be revisiting anytime soon. But if I did I'd get that fish

I really enjoyed the food at The Crazy Coop Downtown, Memphis location. For my appetizer I ordered the fried pickles and they didn't stand a chance for leftovers. The pickles were hot, fresh and crispy. Dipped in the ranch dressing to add extra flavor. I will be going back for the fried catfish, I dipped my catfish in the sweet Cajun sauce and it was 10/10.

Food was phenomenal. The burger was the bomb and the wings was fire as well. Bar staff was excellent and they pour nicely. The ambiance was dope. Had a DJ that played later in the evening. A must visit while in Memphis.

Great whole and boneless wings. They season their wings and fries very well. The inside also looks very swanky.

We came in a few days ago for dinner and it was great! Our waitress was super nice and attentive. The wings came out hot and crispy.

There is plenty of parking in a lot across the street. We went inside and found it to be pretty busy, but we got a table for 4 quickly. The place was clean and homey-feeling and I loved the fact that they used disposable plates, utensils and napkins! It is probably way easier on the crew to clean up, and it adds to the relaxed atmosphere. I had the corn nuggets to start, yum! We finished them easily, they were so good. Then the entree of my chicken tenders, beans, and Mac and cheese came out, along with my sweet tea. The sweet tea was perfect, I drank a whole one during my meal and they gave me another to go in the souvenir Gus's cup. The food was just great, chicken was juicy and perfectly crunchy on the outside. Beans and Mac and cheese, delicious! I ate all of it even though I was stuffed. I even went so far as to order a piece of pecan pie for dessert, but unfortunately our server came back out to tell us they were out of it! Guess it wasn't meant to be (this time)! Our server was really friendly during our whole meal, chatted with us a little and made sure we had a great experience! Bottom line.... Go to Gus's!

The waiter was nice and attentive. He made sure we had what we needed and wanted. Seven is his name. The food was not world famous. The chicken was spicy and bland. No seasoning. The Mac and cheese tasted like boxed Mac and cheese with shredded cheese on top. The greens tasted like can greens not fresh. The best thing was the souvenir cup. I will not return. I gave it 2 stars because it was free parking in front of restaurant and the good service from seven.

Some fried chicken is not so good. This fried chicken, however, is very good. All fried chicken is good though. I will not hate on any fried chicken other than the fast food sponge type. That shit is gross! I have been to all locations that these folk have. I hope they make it here (more on that in a few). This location seems pretty dead mostly and they are not doing many things to help themselves I am afraid. But then again, I have seen this at the other two as well in the past and they are still growing. They must be doing something right. I'm the dumbass that thought Soul Fish would never make it, so... don't forget Adam. The workers are very pleasant, all seem to be Filipinos in the FOH, maybe since that's the basis of the concept. They are super nice but there can be a small language and cultural barrier when communicating with them. It's pretty low key inside. They have minimal decorations and did not much more than paint the place on the remodel. The chairs are uncomfortable, especially loud when they hit the floor, and oddly light. Why I think they may be in trouble... The front door is permanently closed. The other door had a closed sign on it twice when I have been there. The last visit the staff disappeared into a closet and two people came in and stood there alone. A guy that didn't speak English came up front and the customers asked, "are you open"? Additionally, the one side I found I liked here at the chain is different at this location. The onion rings are terrible here. They are crappy panko versions that get soggy and nasty really fast. The prices have skyrocketed at this location as well. Since last time I was here the 3 pc combo had increased 25% from the prior visit. That's an insane increase! On top of that, the website doesn't work and the pics they posted on Yelp themselves show the old prices still. Hate that mess!! Love this fried chicken but probably done with this location. I do still love the chicken. I'm done with the combos because the sides are all absolute trash, and the cookies suck too! They always have. Never eaten more than a bite of one. Only chicken for me from here on out. '25 - 116/111

I haven't had the best of luck with Chinese food in Memphis so I did everything I could to suppress this unwanted craving, however, I just couldn't help myself. Little Petals pops up on Yelp as a possibility. I read the reviews and scrolled through the pictures. After looking at the location, I realized it was only an 8-minute drive from where we were. Why not, right? The restaurant is easy to miss. It sits right on the corner in an old shanty building nestled in the middle of downtown Memphis. The furniture and décor were of a standard Chinese eatery, nothing special; but the employees were warm and welcoming, greeting me with hellos and smiles. I got the black pepper chicken that came with a spring roll. I ordered an extra side of pork egg rolls because that's usually my go to. Everything was fantastic! It gives you the taste of that old school Chinese food you used to have as a kid, but better quality. The chicken was moist, flavorful and peppery. The egg rolls had the perfect amount of crispy crunch---they seemed handmade as well! Pricing is a little higher from when I was a kid, but you still won't break the bank here! As I started to think that great Chinese food was not an option for Memphis, Little Petals showed up at the right time and made me a believer!

So, Little Petals, i.e., Petals of a Peony, Jr.: no one was inside. I assume this to be per usual for 2:30pm on a Tuesday. It follows then, that the service was, um, efficient and bespoke. Ordered the pork eggrolls (very good, the sauce that came with it - oddly the perfect amount was given in a little rectangular container - made these delectable) and the General Peony's Chicken. And this was damned good. Pricey for lunch, but I could have made 2 or 3 meals off of it. A satisfying amount of heat from the szcheuan (sp?) peppers; not overly breaded so as to make it a fried dough dish, but rather to carry the sauce on the chicken; the chicken was a quality cut, nicely sized per bite. A new go-to for lunch downtown.
