I called my order in and it was supposed to be ready in 15 min. We still ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes. The order included a barbecue turkey leg, wings, okra, and cheese sticks. Only 1 of 4 cheese sticks contained cheese. The others were completely empty. The turkey leg had an unusual taste to where we couldn't even eat it and the wings were dry. Not to mention, we were given the wrong flavor. This experience was completely unsatisfactory. The food wasn't worth finishing unless we wanted a terrible upset stomach. Won't be back. Oh my God; worst experience ever! I order the smoked sausage combo and was very disappointed. First of all it is served on a hamburger bun. I was surprised; I asked about a hotdog bun but the cashier stated that is how they make the smoked sausage. If I had of known that beforehand I would not have ordered it. My fries and sandwich were cold. The sausage was three little strips cut very thin. It looked like they took one half of a smoked sausage and cut it three ways. Sad Very disappointed with my meal. This place has absolutely went DOWNHILL!! On wednesday 4/30/2025 around 7:30 i went to dondon's on bartlett blvd thinking i was going to get some freshly fried wings. Just to wait an hour and get home to HARD BLACK WINGS. The wings that i received weren't fresh at all they tasted like they were fried earlier and dipped back in the fryer and tossed. I ordered a 15 piece honey hot and seasoned wings. I called the restaurant when i saw that my wings were hard and the " granddaddy " said that i could bring them back. I drove all the way to bartlett just for him to yell and tell me that nothings wrong with the wings. It was clear as day that they were OLD. He has a nasty attitude and i hope that he knows being old and mean isn't a good look! even his granddaughters face looked like that she knew that he was wrong. I will never spend my money here! There is a difference between FRIED HARD and OLD CHICKEN. I was nice and understanding until he raised his voice. do business better next time you OLD HAG! ALSO HE told me that i wasn't getting a refund which i never asked he said he could remake them i was fine with that until he got the attitude which made me not even want anything from this establishment EVER again. read more

I placed my order around 730pm, told it would be about 15-20mins. I arrived earlier than the estimated time by 5mins. The gentleman at the register was very pleasant, it wasn't crowded but it's never really crowded when I go. My order was ready in the time I was told. The "chef" I can't remember his name brought my order to the other window and man oh man did it look good. Each time I visit the wings are always made fresh and the staff is always pleasant. Don Don's on Bartlett Blvd played in my face 2 days in a row.... Food wasn't up to par yesterday. So I decided to give them another try today, placed my order went inside to pick it up and it wasn't ready. Get my order, you know before we pull off we have to do a little taste test. I took a bite and the chicken was cold my fries were fresh though. I'm like ok I'll just warm it up when I get home but this voice in my head kept saying naw Whitney you paid your money your food should be fresh. I go back in with no attitude. The elder lady says what's wrong I explained to her that my chicken was cold. She stated that it was just made I told her she could touch the chicken and see that it was not fresh. She takes it to the back a few moments go by she comes back and say here you he remade it check it before you go. I open the box it's steaming hot but it's the chicken the same chicken that I had bitten off of. I said ma'am this is the same chicken here is the one I bit off of. I guess Mr Don Don himself older guy comes out the back what's wrong with the chicken it's hot feel it.. I explained to him that it's the same chicken I bit off of. I said if you don't want to remake it you can just give me a refund. He proceeds to say "I'm not giving you nothing you got your chicken you can take that and get out of here I paid too much money for that chicken" as if I didn't just spend my hard earned money. I ordered 30 piece with a family order of fries. The total was roughly $60 and this is what I received. I called and spoke to a man who's posture was one of the owners or possibly a manager. He did not identify himself. I told him about the quality of the food and that I'd like to return it for a full refund. He said he could make it again. I told him the quality of the chicken that you serve is horrible. I can't imagine it getting better. I'd prefer a refund. He said he couldn't process a refund. I said well who can? He said the manager will be here on Monday. I said so you want me to hold this chicken until Monday sir? He hesitated and then replied yes. I made a comment about the bread being in a ziplock bag with the condiments and he said "we've been doing it this way for 20 or 30 years without complaints". At that point I was certain I was speaking with someone of authority. I paid quite a bit for this meal. I had to go out again and find my family something suitable to eat that evening. This place is good food for a good price. I got a burger not expecting anything special and it was seasoned well and the cheese is good. They have good hot wings and good desserts too. The onion rings are battered there, not frozen. My favorite is the fried corn. I wouldn't suggest going there when you are in a hurry and I would definitely recommend calling your order in ahead of time. Don Don's serves the largest "wings" I have encountered. It is really the wing and the part of the chicken that attaches to the wing. HUGE. The only reason I don't give them five stars is that they don't have enough flavors. If I could combine their wings with the flavors offered at some other places, I would be in heaven. One more thing: I've ordered a LOT of wings from these guys, and had great experiences except for one time. It was Superbowl Sunday, and some of the wings I got were beyond room temperature cold. The restaurant was small, but kinda cute. The food is great. Garrett ordered the fish plate, which came with two sides. With his catfish, he got fries and okra. The fries were nothing special, but the fish and the okra hit the spot. I didn't want to order the same thing, so I got the hotwings, which came with fries. They were also good. This place feels like home. It reminds me of visiting my Nanas house. Not in the decor or anything, but in the staff. Everything's so warm and comfortable. The foods made fresh and actually seasoned. The owners probably one of the nicest people you'll meet. He made a point to speak to us and check on how we were doing. He took a minuet to brag on his boys. My husband all but killed himself finishing off his wings. He didn't want to waste any. If you're wanting some good home cooking stop by.
