In a word: unreliable. This "business" was booked by our group to take us in to Savannah for a wedding and return us to Tybee afterwards. Yes, it was a holiday weekend but this was precisely why we hired Crab Cab. While our driver did deposit us in town, as we were disembarking, he held back one of our party to return half of the fee we'd prepaid. There was an excuse given that there would be roadblocks and checkpoints on the road back to Tybee and that he wasn't sure if he'd be able to make it back to Savannah that night To pick us up. B.S. We thankfully managed to hire an Uber to return us home. There was no traffic, no checkpoints, and no roadblocks. The driver simply did not want to drive back to Savannah to pick us up. While we appreciate that he returned half of the fee, this is NOT how a business should be run. This company is undependable and should be relied upon for any of your transportation needs. read more

This was the most ignorant person I had spoke to on ou wonderful trip to Tybee Island I think they believe they are the only game in town!! A HORRIBLE business. We were treated like crap. Hung up on multiple times. Absolutely zero customer service. We were asked to pay $20 per person in advance when we didn't even know if this person would pick us up. When we responded that we would pay a deposit the man on the phone became angry and hung up. They should probably take a class on social skills. This company should never be used. It also seems they have a monopoly on the cab business in tybee because we called breezy taxi and tybee island taxi as well and the same rude man answered the phone responded with "you already called me" and proceeded to hang up on us. **Reservations made in the morning for 3:30pm. At 2:45 they called me & asked if we could make the pick up a little earlier or later. Later would not work due to a reservation and when I asked "how early?" she couldn't give me a time frame. I asked my group how soon they could be ready and 20min was decided, so the driver said she'd be there at 3:10. Not a big deal really, except after everyone rushing to get ready & she failed to show up until 3:30. **Van was dirty inside and the ceiling cloth was falling, driver was dressed rather unprofessionally but was nice enough. Unfortunately, I was advised two days prior to arriving in Tybee that it would be $53; we were coming from the N end of Tybee (Polk Ave.) to Lady & Sons; as we were leaving the house, she advised she charges $10 per person (6ppl in my party which they were aware of when I called from FL). The fair was $60. **As we found another taxi company from Savannah to Tybee we were charged only $37! The gentleman from A Magikal Taxi & Shuttle Service advised us that we were hosed and it's because the state does not regulate the taxi meters for Tybee Island specific taxi companies so they are permitted to charge whatever they choose, on any given day. Driver is rude and reckless. no courtesy for other cars on road. Cab smells like marijuana smoke. I recommend uber or yellow cab.

The driver Chuck yelled at us when we used the restroom at the gas station he stopped at to get gas and then tried to charge us 55 dollars for a one stop ride that was less than ten miles. Then when we gave him the 55 he demanded we owed him 20 more dollars! Called the dispatcher she gave us the run around pretended like she would call us back in the morning, didn't happen. If you are staying on Tybee and plan to enjoy libations on the Island or in Savannah, you need to call the Crab. I met Joe the owner this past week and he runs an awesome business. Friendly and full of information he provides excellent service. Joe knows all the places for good food, cold beer and great sight seeing. I would give this review zero stars if I could. Called crab cab was told it would be a twenty minute wait. An hour later still waiting for cab to arrive. Tried calling cab dispatcher again numerous times without an answer. Called magical cab who arrived within twenty mins as quoted. Last night some friends of mine were kicked out of the crab cab because one of them happened to be a lesbian. It was made very clear that the cab driver was not a fan of "queers" and instead of being taken to their destination they were dropped at a local gas station. This type of behavior is unacceptable and I will never use their services again. I urge everyone to use another form of transportation when visiting Tybee. This type of discrimination and intolerance is completely detestable and I do not know how they run a public business with employees of such low character. My friends were forced to call another taxi to pick them up and take them to their destination. The gentleman (I use that word loosely) did accept payment from my friends, so apparently their money wasn't too gay! read more

It turns out that Crab Cab and Islands Cab are owned by the same person. After confirming with Harold of Islands Taxi that he would pick up our Girl Scout troop at 9:15 am for a 10:00 am dolphin, he did not show up. We tried calling him several times, but he did not answer his phone. Having such a large group, we were unable to find another taxi company with such short notice. If it wasn't for the owner of La Dolce Vita Italian Grill driving us to the marina, we would have lost our deposit! We were staying at Hotel Tybee and La Dolce Vita Italian Grill is located in the hotel. read more

My friends and I recently took a trip to Savannah and Crab Cab did not disappoint. Not only was Anthony trustworthy, he was also open to our suggestions...such as wearing a crab costume, and/or installing a fresh crab tank on top of the mini van. I wish it was possible to give this "company" a zero star review. We had dinner reservations in Savannah on Saturday so we needed a ride from Tybee to Savannah. We called this company HOURS in advance to set up our pick-up time. The owner picked up, was super gruff, told us the price (which was steeper than everyone else, as we found out later!) confirmed our details, and that was that. I even sent a text with our address and pickup time to his phone as per his instructions upon immediately hanging up! 7:15 rolls around, and the cab should be at our house....no cab...waiting...7:25 rolls around....now I call....NO ANSWER...7:30 rolls around (keep in mind we have dinner reservations!)... NO ANSWER....7:40 rolls around... NO ANSWER.... so 7:45 I called an Uber and was picked up within a minute. Our Uber driver LITERALLY laughed out loud when we said the Crab Cab left us high and dry because that is their reputation on the islands!!! Good to know!!! Crab Cab quoted price: $60 Uber price: $42 Cab home price: $35 So not only was Cab Crab more expensive, Cab Crab almost ruined our night by standing us up. If you are on the island and heading into Savannah do not even waste your time with this "company". Use Uber, Breezy, Lift, Yellow Cab....heck, hitchhiking or walking is even more reliable than this "company". Any review here that speaks highly of this "company" is fabricated. The reputation of this company is garbage, which you will find out when you are on Tybee and you are left waiting....and waiting....and waiting for a taxi that will never come. DO NOT use this company to go anywhere near Savannah or Tybee. Their website prides themselves on their cleanliness, but the van we were in smelled terrible and was disgusting. Between the cigarette smoke from the driver and the mildew smell, you could barely breathe. The driver told us that her dog normally rides with her, showed us pictures of the dog and showed us the dog bed in the cab... turns out the smell was coming from dog poop that was in the cab. We brought it to her attention and she apologized that day and that was it. My friends shoe was covered in the poop by the time we got to our destination. The next day we called to inform her boss or the owner and they wanted to argue that we brought the dog poop in on our shoes ourselves (we didn't have dogs on this trip with us). They even had the nerve to tell us she didn't have a dog. We simply called to inform these people what kind of business they were running and all they had to say was you're not getting your money back. It was $10 a person, money wasn't the issue it was the terrible, terrible filth that we rode in that was the issue. Pay the extra money for an Uber if you can, I promise it's worth it.
