When we walked up to the stop near City Hall on Bryan St & Bull St, a few others were waiting but I couldn't find a schedule posted. However we only waited about 5 minutes before the bus arrived! Once on the bus, we enjoyed resting in the A/C, and viewing more historic buildings we hadn't yet seen as we traveled. Note, this isn't a narrated tour, but rather free & easy transpo around the historic district. As it turned out, Drayton St was closed due to the Jazz Festival in Forsyth Park, so we had to exit the bus a few blocks early. Which worked out well for us as we were a bit closer to our vaca rental. I appreciate the city's investment in this free transportation for tourists & residents. Seating seemed to be sufficient, as I saw no one needed to stand. The Dot bus was a great option to get around in Savannah!

This is my favorite special event to attend each year since moving to Savannah. I've done at least…read moreone day each year since I moved here in 2006. The tours run Thurs-Sun focusing on a different section of the Landmark Historic District and Ardsley Park each day. My one complaint about this is they always do the same section on the same day. Ardsley Park is always Sunday, NE quadrant aways seems to be Saturday, etc. This might be fine with many tourists that are already here but when you work during the week or on the weekends it's disappointing not to be able to see each of the neighborhoods. I normally work on Sundays so next year I'm going to take a vacation day so I can see the Ardsley tour. This houses are hit or miss. They are pretty much all million dollar homes but decorating style varies wildly. Some are crammed with knick knacks and dark colors while some are stunningly designed. The weather in late March is normally perfect for walking around during the day but the gardens can sometimes be a little disappointing because our heaviest bloom time is late April. However you can still get a really nice idea of the outdoor spaces. I would highly recommend this tour. There is also one sponsored by Saint Vincent's Academy (the Hist District's Catholic girl's high school) in October that is really good too and includes tea on the convent's grounds. One drawback is that a house I saw on the THG in March was featured on the SVA tour in October. They may want to check to make sure there is not overlap.

Our tour was on Friday and we had 5 houses to see, all the homes are unique and beautifully restored. We even got to meet the owners of the home on Huntington street. We enjoyed hearing about his love of the clocks and we meet his lovely wife and two wonderful pets. People in Savannah are just so nice and hospitable. Thank you again to everyone who worked to make this happen

We did some research and there were other pics online confirming of the same sighting. I think it's the veiled face!

What I didn't realize was that the Andrew Low house was nearby. He, of course, became one of the richest people in Savannah in the 1800s and had this house to show of his massive wealth. We stuck around for a tour that lasted about 45 minutes. Was pretty informative and learned a lot of things about Juliette that carried over to when we saw the museum a couple days later. One of the cool things we saw was an upright grand piano, of which only 3 exist in the entire world. That was pretty cool. This was a fun respite from the heat and wasn't overly expensive.

We planned part of our vacation around this experience and had been looking forward to it for days. Then, just five hours before our scheduled flight, the company canceled our reservation because of a "last-minute private event." It's incredibly unprofessional to bump customers who booked well in advance for another booking. At that point, there was no realistic way to make other plans or book with another company. Vacations are short, and experiences like this are what families remember. Instead of making great memories, we were left with disappointed kids and a ruined part of our trip. I understand that unexpected situations can happen, but canceling on customers at the last minute for a private event shows a lack of respect for the people who planned ahead and trusted your business. I would not recommend booking with this company if you want to rely on them to honor your reservation.
