Looking for a free and easy way to get a tour of savannah? This is your bus. It's enclosed so on a hot day, you can cool off In the bus. The bus driver does no talking so don't expect a narration to be happening... this bus is purely a transportation vehicle but I saw it as an alternative to paying 40$ for a open air tour bus. Masks are a must on the bus at this time... if you don't have one, I saw some on the bus for free.

This is a great service in Savannah -convenient and free and easy to use!! While spending a vacation weekend in Savannah, we discovered the free bus service in the old, historic part of town. They don't provide tourist information about sites, like the paid tourist buses and trolleys do. However, they do provide frequent (every 10 minutes) pickup at marked sites, which are posted on easily visible (purple) roadside city signs. You can get off and on at several sites along each of the routes. The buses are easy to identify -look for the plum colored ones. You can get a map from your concierge or look online at dot.org. There are two routes- one rectangular route from near the river goes counter-clockwise around the center public squares and back. The other route travels in a clockwise direction in a more wide and nearly square-shaped route around many of the public squares. We rode on two smaller buses and one larger bus while we were in Savannah, getting off and on to reach restaurants. On the days that we rode, the public address system (that usually announces the most significant and historic sites near each stop) was broken. The driver on the larger bus filled in by pleasantly announcing the sites near each stop. One small bus driver answered passenger questions about restaurants near a couple of stops. One driver barely grunted to answer a question. It really isn't their job to be an announcer, but we did appreciate the two drivers that went out of their way to be helpful to visitors, since the recorded message system failed. We were very pleased to use the dot service because it meant we didn't have to walk in the rain to see the city, or bother the valet service to get our car, or search for an empty parking place among the very few spaces on the streets. - Thank you "dot"!

Unfortunately unreliable, will have you waiting 30min at a stop only for them to pass your stop without any given reason.

We chose to do the full loop first so we could hear Jared's complete narration before hopping off to explore. It was the perfect decision! He shared fascinating details about Savannah's rich history, along with some lesser-known fun facts that really brought the city to life. The tour sparked our excitement to visit spots we might have overlooked otherwise. The hop-on hop-off format worked brilliantly for us. Buses arrived quickly at each stop--we rarely waited long--and the stops are conveniently located near all the main tourist attractions. It got a bit crowded toward the end of the day (around 5 p.m.), and we occasionally had to wait for the next bus, but overall, it was seamless and stress-free. One small suggestion: I wish the tours ran a little later than 5 p.m. It would be ideal for avoiding parking hassles and enjoying dinner downtown--there are so many delicious restaurants to try! We highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting an easy, informative, and enjoyable way to see Savannah. Thanks to Jared for making it memorable!

You can tell right away she's passionate about what she does and truly knows her stuff. The way she brought Savannah's Black history to life was amazing! It wasn't just facts and dates, it was stories, music, videos, and even her playing the drums! It was a whole multi-sensory experience that pulled us right in. We laughed, we learned, and we left feeling so proud and inspired. I loved how creative she was in how she shared our history. It felt like a celebration, not a lecture. If you're in Savannah and want to connect with the soul of the city, do yourself a favor and book this tour. You won't regret it!

Rita kept it fun, exciting, great music, stories, landmarks and a lot of little know facts. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone. Our Ashanti Too Book Club was celebrating our 20th anniversary and this was a highlight. She accommodated us by scheduling a private tour for our group of 13 and at the time we needed. The bus was well maintained, it had individual seat belts, music and even blankets and fans to keep cool or warm. You will have an unforgettable experience and the price was reasonable. Thank you Rita Yates!
